Setting aside her studying for a moment, T’kani let her head rest on her desk, which had accumulated its usual clutter within the past day. She was determined to ace her finals, even if it killed her. Which it certainly felt like, but this had become routine for most of her time at the Academy, so she knew things would work out fine. Stock up on food and drink, play some soothing instrumental music, and give angry stares at her roommate if she was disturbed. It was only for a week, her roommate would live.
She would need to find time to finish her application to Leviathan as well; that was planned for the morning when she would be well rested and able to form coherent sentences again. All that was left was the essay about why she thought she was a good fit for the university, which would be easy. Something about having an active interest in science despite being mute, and maybe she’d throw in that there wasn’t a book left in the Academy that she hadn’t read. She was applying to double major in science and engineering, both fields that appealed to her, and offered plenty of possibilities for combining the two. At first she thought about majoring in medicine as well or in place of something else, but while she was working on being more sociable, dealing with patients didn’t seem like a good idea to her.
Despite sticking to her studious nature, she was glad that she had decided to try being more social during her last few years. She had become friends with what were formerly just study partners, explored the campus while taking in the sights instead of with her nose buried in a book or papers. Even managed to find an adorable lover, and by chance met her best friend, whom she had a suspicion wanted to be more than friends…
Lifting her head off of the desk before her face became a mirror of the notes she was taking, she vibrated slightly in the chair as she stretched out after her short break. First things first; if she wanted any of her future plans to pan out, she would need to get through these finals.
