Lissa might as well have been king of the castle. Exploring the campgrounds had been a cakewalk, and within a few days she felt certain she knew them like the back of her hand (the back of her hand always had new scratches and bruises she'd never seen before, but hey, who was checking?). Unpacking had been something of a joke--there was only so much of her personal gear that she'd been allotted, and all of it fit rather cozily under her swanky new bed. From there, all she had left to take tabs on were the other dorm rooms, to which she had varying levels of failure in infiltrating. For all her efforts, though, she had not lost hope, and had her eyes set on even bigger goals.

A better behaved person would have found the Zeus and Hera dorms too statuesque, too imposing to invade. But Lissa never got very far in life by being sensible.

She waited until the dorms looked relatively empty, then tucked her Hermes pin in one pocket, casually strolling through the conjoining courtyard like it had always been hers. Lissa had gone the extra mile to even look the part, wearing the only pair of respectable slacks she owned along with a pastel button-down shirt, several buttons down. There was little to be done for taming her hair--she'd attempted to slick it back, but in the short walk it had already become an unruly mess, curling wildly in the summer sun. But Lissa didn't need to be perfect, she just needed to be passable enough to go unnoticed.

If only Lissa was better practiced in that--it was more fun to be seen, to be heard. But she was supposed to practice the tenants of the god who'd chosen her, yes? So didn't this count as training? It was the excuse she'd already rehearsed for the inevitability where she got caught, and it was one that she even almost believed.

With a mouthy grin wrought too tight to be up to any good, Lissa turned abruptly and stepped through the marble columns of the Hera dorms, her eyes running wide as she admired the view of the interior. For once, she was silent as she mouthed a 'wow', strolling slowly into what appeared to be their 'casual' living area. The stocky woman lowered herself onto a cushioned chair, reveling in the softness of the fabrics and the stark cleanliness of the house.

"I could really get used to this," she murmured to herself, kicking her feet up on an elegantly ornate armrest. For all that the rest of her outfit looked put-together, her shoes were the same-old sneakers, faded and dusty from all the walking she'd done.

If left to her own devices, Beth was horrible at keeping a schedule. She could keep routines just fine, so long as they were of the wake up-get bathed-get dressed-eat something variety. But in lieu of outside obligations, she found herself drifting uselessly. Hera had told her that she was meant for something more. But what, precisely, did that mean? How did she get from being 1st year Harry Potter to 7th year badass?

She supposed that until she got another vision or whatever it was she was waiting for, she might as well explore the grounds of the Prytaneum. Beth made it a point to never leave her room without looking her best. She wondered how long that streak of discipline would last. She supposed it was a mercy that she didn't seem to have a roommate. At the very least, the door to the bathroom remained closed and nothing moved out of place significantly enough to suspect that there might be another person using the facilities.

So it was that Beth, not looking forward to traversing the grounds in her most sensible pair of wedges, stumbled across the only other person she'd seen in the dorm. She blinked at the woman lounging lazily on a chair in the common area, dirty sneakers dangerously close to the bright blue fabric of a pillow. It was her first instinct to reject the idea that this woman belonged among the Chosen of Hera, but she quickly pushed it down beneath the shame of judging a book by its cover. Who was she to say anything about the preferences of a goddess? She hadn't exactly had a good sample size to compare against.

Beth straightened her posture, smoothed her dress down to guard against wrinkles, and strode forward, bright smile affixed to her face. “Hello! It's so good to see another person! I was beginning to think there was no one else here!” She made it a point to keep her eyes on the brown-green gaze of the other woman, even as she noticed the incongruity of her sneakers and slacks. “I'm Beth!”
