Newgrange was out and about, like he was supposed to be, as a Knight. Or, Squire, but. Same job, he figured. He was still anxious about the Negaverse, but he'd always figured the best way to fight your fears was head on.
He just hoped he didn't actually have to fight any of them.
He'd had so much on his mind and wasn't honestly sure what was going on with him and Nick; there was still too much that they needed to talk about but he hadn't pressed any of it because he just couldn't wrap his mind around what he'd already been told.
But there were things he wanted to know. He wanted to know what they were, what Nick wanted them to be, what their relationship meant.
And he wanted to know what Nick had told the Negaverse when he as dangerously close to joining them.
Being lost in his thoughts probably wasn't the safest place for him as he wandered through town; he was somewhat aware of another energy signature but couldn’t tear himself from his thoughts enough to register who—or where—they were.

Fighting with knights was always a treat. Though fighting with anyone was a treat to be honest…Cavansite just liked the knights more than she liked the senshi. She wasn’t quite sure why, but making them hurt and making them fear her…was just more fun than anything else. Her favorite by far were the cosmos knights…except for that one. She was awful, not to mention annoying…but this fellow that she was watching was not that girl. And he was not a cosmos knight by the look of him…he was dressed in greens and browns, like a tree.
He was a tree knight. Or a tree nut. Perhaps he caused allergies. It was kind of funny to think that way, but well. She couldn’t help the way she thought of someone.
The one bad thing about this tree nut was the fact he looked so…plain. Perhaps that was one of the reasons she liked the Cosmos knights, they had more pretty things to take, more things she could add to her own outfit. Proof of her conquest…this guy didn’t seem to have anything like that. Oh well. He had a starseed.
That would be enough.
As soundlessly as she could, the captain pounced, spear at the ready. She landed behind him and held her elongated wand in both hands, thwacking the pole against his head.
Stabbing right out of the gate wasn’t fun. She always did like to play with her food.

Newgrange had been fortunate to have a hard head; he let out a hiss of pain and spun quickly, one hand immediately going to his stinging head. "Excuse me," he blurted sourly, a bit stunned by her appearance.
He took a few quick steps backwards to distance himself from her and cursed the fact that the only weapon he had was one his hand. It gave him no boost at all, so he had to rely on his words—at least, until he was close enough to send the Earth shaking and disrupt her.
But that was still dangerous.
"Can I help you, or do you just enjoy sprouting up behind people? I'd like a little warning next time, please."
But she was a Negaverse Agent, what did she care for manners or decency? She was far more likely to skewer him and try to be done with him. There would be no working out their differences, probably. No saving her from the Chaos inside of her.

"Well darling, if I gave warnings, I wouldn’t be able to hit anyone because they would all run from me. Besides, that was your warning. Under normal circumstances, I would have just run you through. Aren’t I a nice person? Letting you live for a few more seconds. What kind of a knight are you? I haven’t seen one in your colors before. Are you a tree knight?”
Cavansite was looking him up and down, her stance looking almost lazy, loose and relaxed. “The longer you keep me amused, the longer you stay alive. It is a shame that your outfit is so…boring though. I do like people who have pretty outfits, they can add to my wardrobe…ah well. I’m sure your starseed will be pretty enough.”
She fingered the one that was attatched to the star covered bow on her front and grinned. “While you’re still alive, where you would like me to display it? I still have a free earring that could use one if you’d like.”

"I am a Knight of Earth," Newgrange said suspiciously; her words were unnerving but he didn't want to show her how uncomfortable she was making him. It was a great effort not to place one hand over his chest as if to protect his starseed.
"…And I am sorry to inform you that you're wasting your time, here. My starseed will stay with me. You'll have to find a decoration somewhere else. Or not, preferably. Forgive me for not being impressed with your manners. Why don't we make a deal? You go on way, I'll go the other, no one gets hurt, and we both get home safely. Otherwise," his voice trailed off and he shrugged.
"…If we can't come to some agreement, I'm not opposed to fighting you. I'm just certain we both have better things to do than kill each other. Sort of a waste, don't you think? I'm sure we can talk this out."
…No, he wasn't. He knew how this would go. But he couldn't strike first without being at a disadvantage, so all he could do was try to talk his way out of it while he discreetly braced for her attack and planned his own.

“A knight of Earth, hm?” Cavansite nodded, and finally laughed. He seemed so eager to try and teach her manners well. Well. “I do believe the saying goes that manners don’t matter if you have a dangerous pointed stick to stab someone with~ Or maybe that’s a rough translation of something. Who knows.”
She shrugged and made her move, running quickly at Newgrange with her spear held out in one hand, and her other hand held out, fingers twitching, eager to wrap around the crystal embedded in the knights chest. “It’s a pity you didn’t amuse me more. I don’t like talks of peace, that’s boring. I don’t like boring. I deal with that enough in my day to day life!”
The captain tossed the spear ahead of her, hoping it would distract the knight enough so she could reach in and take what was going to be rightfully hers.

Newgrange didn't like to make a mess of things, but if he had to shake things up, he was prepared for it. He kept his eyes on the weapon, but not enough that he didn't see her moving; all he cared about was knowing where the first hit was going to land so he could try and avoid it.
As soon as the spear was out of her hand and she moved towards him, he drew back his arm and shoved his fist into the ground. Her hand had narrowly avoided plunging into his chest but he wasn't even aware of how close it had come. Instead, he was focusing all his attention on channeling his magic.
When his fist hit the ground, a tremor radiated around them; immediately the ground felt like it had ruptured and it began trembling. He was close to the ground, bracing for the earthquake, but he hoped that her rapid movement had put her off balance—and this would help knock her down.
If she didn't like small talk, he wouldn’t give her small talk. Hopefully she'd just get a face full of dirt and he could ditch while she was still trying to figure out what was going on.

Cavansite’s eyes widened as the ground began to shake. An earthquake? Here? The tremors were strong and forceful, and she stumbled, before falling on her back in the most ungraceful manor, blinking in confusion.
There shouldn’t be earthquakes here of all places! What nonsense was…
Oh. The knight. He had some sort of magic, and this must be it…but to have the magic to cause an earthquake…that was impressive. Though…maybe it made sense. Earthquake, Earth knight. Yeah. It sort of fit.
The captain tried to move to her feet again, though only managed to almost stand before falling back, face first onto the ground.
Damn him. “I’ll ******** kill you, knight! I’ll ******** kill you I swear it!” Maybe she could teleport, get behind him and just slip her hand in and be on her way…but she couldn’t focus on anything but the ground beneath her. It was a terrible feeling.

"Maybe!" Newgrange replied, only a little less affected by the earthquakes that surrounded them. "But not tonight, I have plans in the morning. Good luck!"
His adrenaline was raging and he pushed himself up quickly. Cavansite was down, but he knew there was only going to be a few more seconds of magic as the Earthquake died out now that he was on his feet. He had channeled it for as long as he could but he couldn't risk her catching him with no magic. He wouldn’t have stood a chance.
While the Captain was still incapacitated, he bolted, as fast as he could towards the most well-covered ¬area.
He knew she could track him by his energy signature so as soon as he was hidden, he powered down. It was risky, but he'd rather be invisible and sneaking around than a blaring beacon with a death wish.
