They had stuck somewhat near the river, walking down stream of the flowing waters. It had been peaceful but he had, when they rested, made sure they strayed far enough away from it. There were still crocodiles that could get to them near its banks. Much of the time the river was a lull of sound and not rushing past. Then sometimes they would get to a part where the river was as loud as thunder crashing upon the rocks.
"Don't be fooled." He said as they came to an embankment. "By the calm look of the river. It can still take you away. This looks like a good spot though." As he padded into its depths until it was just barely higher than his belly. It was not strong here and there was still plenty of ground beneath him. "Come, join me. If you want of course."

She did want to join him in the water and happily splashed into the water. Brisa was always curious at the caution he took with everything. He was such a rule follower, someone who was always cautious of the next thing and she enjoyed that about him.
"It does look like a great spot, I wonder what types of fish we'll find." The lioness was ever interested in all fish, she liked the different types and it wasn't always about flavor, she liked to watch them interact with one another and see what they ate.
"I think we're safe, Akseli." She laughed her awkward laugh and bumped up against him playfully.

The male rolled his eyes as he waded in the water, careful not to go to far. Hippos and crocodiles were in these waters and both could be deadly to a leopard or a lioness. He had seen others taken out by them. He did not want to toy with either of them.
"I'm sure we can find all sorts here." Though he was still cautious of the area. Even though she said the words safe he did not feel it. "If you say so." The male said. He would not say anything as she came into the water. What a skilled swimmer.

She bumped him again with her shoulder gently and gave him her biggest smile, "I have very much enjoyed your company, Mr. Leopard." She hummed a little and scanned the waters, "But nothing is going to get us here, I feel safe with you." She saw small fish the size of her paws in the water but nothing too exotic. She loved the water, but he said that it was dangerous; perhaps she loved the danger of it.
The water seemed to quicken it's pace and she looked up stream to see if they had any visitors. She hoped he hadn't noticed, she wanted him to relax a bit and there was nothing visibly there to notice. A few leaves moving quickly in the water and the pull at her fur made her feel as if the water was still quickening.
To get his mind off of the water she thought of questions she could ask, "Do you have any plans, Akseli? Where are you going next?" She wondered if that included her. They'd spent some time together and she wasn't exactly sure if she wanted their friendship to end soon.

She was not making him feel at ease at all. The fact that she was going further towards the water was even worse. "Please just come back towards the shore." He had grown very fond of the strange lioness. Alright maybe he shouldn't be so uptight. There were no water predators that he could see so he would relax in the water.
Plans? Did he have any plans? "I don't really know." The male admitted. "I might try to find a pride. Or I might stay as a rogue. I haven't really decided."Tisiphone Don't forget to quote me or I won't see the tag. xD <3

Brisa thought he was being silly, she was safe in the water, she had grown up around a watering hole and traveled near water many times. "I understand having a healthy fear of water, I wish you weren't so scared. Come stand here, it will all be ok." She frowned at him and took a few steps closer to him.
"I like the safety of a pride," Brisa was trying to appeal to his fears, "But I also think I much rather like my adventuring, I met you after all." She beamed at him. He had been very good company.
The water again was starting to move faster, she flicked her head upstream and frowned. Maybe there was a dam that let loose but she hadn't seen any in their traveling. She wasn't going to give up though, she wanted him not to fear the water as much.

He rolled his eyes. She had to have seen that, no way of missing it. That and the audible groan he let out before heading over to her. He felt the slight shift int he river but instead of being safe went to the outside of her. Here was him being a risk taker now. For her. "See, in the water. No fear." That was a lie but he kept any of the fear from showing on his face now as waded out just a tiny bit further from her. He was starting to feel the pull of the water a bit more.
"The safety of a pride is important." The male agreed. "I might very much like to join a pride. Maybe if you would want me to, I could come with you and join with you." It was a suggestion and he would gladly give up his days of wandering to stick with her.Tisiphone Ooh Brisa. It'll probably be you to end but thats probably a few more posts.

Brisa's wry smile faltered, if only for a moment, as he offered to join a pride with her. Was she ready to settle back down? Her adventures had just begun, she had gotten the strength and courage to leave the safety of home..and now? Well, he'd had gotten the courage to wade into the water when she knew he saw the current change.
"I think settling down will definitely come for me, but I am not ready yet, what if we adventured for awhile, then settled somewhere fun? I would love to spend a lot more time with you."
Something had definitely given way up stream, and now instead of a small rush the water came crashing toward them, white rumbling rapids. Brisa began to lose her footing and she looked to Akseli with fear.

"Oh I'm not saying we go find a pride now. More like keep our options open." The male said. He was somewhat glad that she didn't right away say that she wanted to settle. He still had plenty of adventure in him. "Keep the adventure alive until it wants us to stop."
When he saw the shift in the water he moved to the outside of her. Knowing full well he was going to have to swim against the current that was ramping up to wash them down. He nudged her, not too hard but hard enough to push her closer to the embankment. Akseli immediately felt the pull of the water as it began to drag him more, his paws were slipping on the wet stone he was trying to claw. No foothold.
"Brisa!" It was all he could say before the current picked up from whatever was happening up river and grabbed him. At first he was afloat and then the next moment his head went under.
The undercurrent dragged him and he knew there was a waterfall not too far. It was almost like a bad joke as he surfaced, saw her one last time, and then went over the edge.
