Has anyone else experienced gender fluidity (or anything similar/different)? My gender fluctuates depending on what I read, look at (like pictures), and listen to. Nature for some reason brings out my genderless side. Lately, I have been very fascinated by how brains take in information from the outside world. Any thoughts?

For myself, I see both masculine and feminine in me.
Some days I want to look girly.
Some days I'm like "screw that, I wanna wear a dang polo and jeans".
It's not necessarily associated with my gender though. I'm like "okay, I'm a girl, but this is what I want to look like even with this body".
I'm weird in my thought process but I think gender is just a way for people to label what they are, and labels just suck. I don't know how to fully explain it, but I think gender is really about what your mindset it, not what your body is.

It's true that gender can be seen as a mindset, but for me, it's an intrinsic part of who I am as a person. I know it may sound weird (or slightly strange), but I can sense when I don't feel a gender. It's hard to describe.

I have felt this way for a very long time, but I never really knew what it was that I was feeling. To put it simply, it feels like a void. Not in a bad way. It's like an abstract sensation that's hard to put into words. In the past, I have felt more like a female (I guess?), but at the same time, I felt different. Years later, my male side was uncovered. Hence why I use the term genderfluid-flux. The flux part just means my gender (or lack therefore of) fluctuates in intensity.
It works for me pretty well so far, at least.

The brain takes in information from the outside world, processes it, and may (or may not) translate the given information into a gender (or genders). Everyone has their own concept. It's like creating an internal map of who you are. In other words, your identity.

Labels, I feel are made so that we can better communicate with people. Yes they seem simple and rigid, but language is always evolving to (hopefully) meet everyone's needs. Labels are needed so that people can find ways to connect with others so they know that they are not alone in the world. It's kind of like having your own language in your community.

Not everyone necessarily likes labels. That part is definitely true. Sometimes they just don't work. There's nothing wrong with that. What matters the most is that the people who choose to use labels (or choose not to) are respected within their own community.
