Hello, and welcome to the Elder Quest Sub Forum! If you are here, that means you are interested in how the Elder Quests work and possibly sign up for one! Before you go all gun ho on filling out the form in the other thread, there are a few questions I need to answer.
Is my Meta eligible for an Elder Quest?
Metas are eligible for an elder quest once they meet the growth requirement for it listed in the growth thread in the main guild forum.
Can I sign up for an Elder Quest?
You can only sign up for elder quests when slots are open for it. Staff must tell you Elder Quests are open before you can sign up for them.
What happens on an Elder Quest?
Your Meta will have to go on a journey to find something whether it's physical or metaphysical or knowledge. It will test your Meta to their limits, facing their fears and overcoming their inner demons.
Can my Meta fail their Elder Quest?
Unless you want them to fail for development purposes, no, they cannot fail. If they DO fail however, they loose their chance to become an Elder entirely, so keep that in mind.
Can I choose what they are looking for?
No, it is up to the DM to choose what is available for the Meta to quest for, but the information you provide will determine what it is. The Meta will at least get to choose from some options given though, so no worries.
What's with the dice rolling?
This helps with potential god-modding, and sometimes the DM is evil and makes you roll to be paranoid. Usually it is to determine if you hit the enemy or if the enemy hits you or other such things. When asked to roll, you will need to reply with the roll in the quest thread you are in.
What if I have a question that isn't listed here?
You can PM or message Broken_Illumination directly either on Gaia or in the Discord chat and they will answer any questions you may have about Elder Quests.
