This is a PRP between LunaRei_Silverblood and myself. Please do not post. Soft colored eyelids closed against the warm winds that drifted past the mare, her nose inhaling deeply to gather all of the scents of summer. She smiled softly, enjoying the feeling of her hair being swept from her face by the floral-scented air. After a long moment, her eyelids flitted open to reveal dark honey colored eyes. Even the humidity couldn't put a damper on the serene feeling she was experiencing.
Jayashri had taken her leave from the Kateri herd from the day. While the bustle and the chatter always interested her, she felt the need to escape occasionally. The herd was far more diverse than she'd expected, and she found herself having to beat down the purist snob inside of her rather frequently. Jay was always kind to others, regardless of their blood and upbringing, but she had hoped for so much more with the herd of unicorns she'd heard stories of.

The small mare made her way down the path humming the Shrine Maiden's lullaby to herself. Her full mane and tail being tugged at gently by the humid breeze that carried the scent of flowers. Summer wasn't Tranquility's favorite time of year, but it was probably top two. As she walked the bell that was entwined into her tail jingled as it bounced softly against the ground as it dragged behind her.
Her pelt would shine in the sunlight, being the color of white opal. Her crystal blue eyes looked forward as she walked, taking note of a rather regal looking mare. Her horn and pure Unicorn look, led Tranquility to believe she belonged to the Kateri Herd that resided in the area.
"Lovely afternoon~" She chimed over to the mare softly as she approached. The shrine in the mountain would be safe without Tranquility there for a little while longer.

The mini mare had not entirely snuck up on her - Jay had smelled someone amidst the flowers. However, it was still a surprise that the other would have chosen to stop and speak to her. It seemed as if everyone was busy doing their gathering and their chores. Summer is awfully short when compared to fall and winter, they'd always told her. This always caused a small chuckle to rise from the unicorn mare. She had been born in snow that was up to her great father's belly, and was rather fond of the winter months. However, she could not disagree with the petite mare who now stood before her. "Yes, it is, isn't it?" Her voice was soft and kind, and she examined the mare briefly. "I love your flowers," she added. Jay loved to give compliments. She felt there were never enough when weighted against all of the insults she'd heard thrown around.

"Oh my, why thank you." Tranquility beamed a smile at the mare. "I grow the flowers at the Shrine." She glanced up. The mare seemed very kind. "Your scarf is a lovely hue. It's complements your pelt's rich colors nicely." The Shrine Maiden returned the compliment, as was proper.
"You don't seem to mind the humidity?" She questioned the full sized mare. She had such long and full hair for her mane she had to wonder if it was warm during this kind of weather. "I think that Autumn is my favorite season. There's something so nostalgic about it, but the weather is rather perfect for me."
Tranquility liked to make herself known to the horses in the area. She didn't travel from the Shrine to often as her duties there were time consuming but she offered aid and a friendly smile to anyone. And the more horses that knew of the shrine more that came to visit and see it.

Jay beamed at the returned compliment. She had always been especially fond of her scarf, which was a gift she had received long ago. Although it often was speckled with mud and was somewhat worn by the weather, it was her most prized possession. "Thank you." Her voice was soft and genuine. The unicorn mare's ears pricked at the mention of the Shrine, but didn't dare ask. She figured that if the mare wished to share, she would in her own time.
She chuckled a little at the question. "Well," she began, "it certainly isn't my favorite, but the seasons come and go, and we must accept what we are given." Several times she had thought about asking someone to cut her hair for her, which caused more pain with the tangles and washing than anything, but her whole family wore their hair long and proud, a tradition she hoped to keep. Occasionally she had asked raccoons from the herd to help her braid it or tie it, but the mass of hair always proved too thick and heavy for their little paws. "A respectable choice. Personally, I love the snows of winter, odd a choice it may be. I just love how the newly fallen snow can make everything seem so clean and magical. The way the sunlight and moonlight alike reflect off the surface, making everything appear to glitter so peacefully." She sighed, trying to ignore the heat and take herself to a winter wonderland. The summer will be over as soon as it began, she reminded herself, no need to rush away the seasons, they all serve a purpose.

The smaller mare listened as the other richly colored mare spoke of the winter. Tranquility didn't dislike the winter per say, but when there was a large amount of snow it made it a bit harder for the smaller horses to get around.
But the other mare was correct. When there was a fresh snow fall, the way the light from the sun and moon hit it. There was something magical about it. She couldn't help but smile sweetly at the mare as she seemed to get lost in her own description of the snow.
"Well that does sound rather dreamy." Tranquility shifted her weight. "You're from the Kateri Herd that resides near by? I've been meaning to introduce myself to the herd." She wondered if the mare could be a good contact for the herd. She just wanted to make sure that they were aware she was maintaining the local Shrine should they need her.

The unicorn allowed the small mare's question to mull in her head for a while before answering. Was she a part of the herd? It was hard to say. "Well," she began, her words less certain, "I've been staying with them as of late, but I don't know that I'm quite a member." For a moment she thought of the white unicorns and their mystery and wonder. She had been there for the past several seasons, leaving only occasionally to get some alone time, but nobody had ever truly come out and declared her one of them. "Why do you ask?"

"Oh?" She tilted her head some. Well her coloring didn't seem to fit the herds white but that wasn't to say they would exclude someone that didn't match the white pelt. She frowned lightly, more so to herself then anyone because she made an assumption.
"Well I maintain the local Shrine on the mountainside. And I just like to let the local herds or even loners in the area know that I'm there should they need assistance." She smiled lightly. "I live there with my mate Maramu who helps me tend to the needs of the Shrine. Anyways though, horses will travel to come visit the same for various person reasons. Sometimes it's hard to meet with members of a herd and so having a contact helps ease the process."
