Mara glared at the back of the driver's headrest, gold eyes drooping close only to open and continue glaring again. Something she had been doing the whole ride as she tried to stay awake, the hospital band still around her wrist and her arms crossed but pulled toward her for warmth than actual anger.
She was angry though but that was held in check by the complete exhaustion she felt right now. Wanting to get back, knowing Melody and the others got her to the hospital and that none of them were injured but Melody was gone. Also that Belrad's officials vouched for the likelihood of it being an actually being a meta attack then suicide.Other wise being allowed to leave with a taxi would have been a pain in a half... ha...ha.... ugh.
Oh and along the way her status as a magician was released to her bosses... fun and joy. Just ...fun and joy. Now to figure out what was happening and try to put some order and see what damage has been done and what to do about getting Hexxis back and getting in touch with everyone since -someone- took her phones!. "We're here...that will be ($) " the taxi driver said looking back blandly as Mara pulled out the money and just handed it to him as she got out slowly from the car and closed the door. Taking a breath she headed toward the front door, a little wobbly as she showed her pass to the scanner and got in. Pain in the neck Kage or Kylar..why did they think it was a great idea to attack them? and now of all times..and where was everyone else?
She stopped inside of the doors and wrinkled her nose as the smell of decomposing blood reached her nose. Oh ..that's where she left it. Now where was everyone else?

Kae was looking fairly tired as she downed the rest of her coffee and managed to sneak her way out from underneath the sleeping child in her lap to go make some more. Yawning, she poured herself another cup of coffee and turned to lean against the counter and cross her arms lightly, fiddling with her phone in her free hand. She sighed before glancing over to the two sleeping children then back down on her phone with a genuine frown.
Ashral had accidentally fallen asleep at some point, only to be woken up by a shadowed cat with blue eyes that nudged her awake. "mnng.." she stretched and pet the cat a bit before picking it up into her arms and walking over towards SIU. There was a glimmer of a person entering the building, black hair. Was that? "H-hey!" she called out, walking up as far as could before having to stop at the door. She could phase through it but that would be rude. She shift for a moment to knock on the door then withdraw her hand back to hold the cat in both arms. "Excuse me, is anyone here?" she asked through the door, taking a step back to look up the side of the building then back down to the door, a look of slightly nervousness on her face but otherwise just looked lonely.

Mara turned back around sharply, darkness already gathering in the area but not moving toward her as she stared at the white haired...Shadow? Carrying a bla- nope shadow cat. Yep a Shadow or a meta hybrid no way to really tell these days unless they had some tattle-tale mutation. So Belrad? She looked to young though to be anything of theirs but then again look at Hexxis, they might have some younger agents or something but if that was so why wasn't she already inside? Could be a contractor's daughter maybe? Sounds more likely.
Sighing loudly, relying on the glass to block most of the she moved back to the door and watched her from the other side. " Yes? "

Oh.. she came back..
Ashral shifted her weight a bit, keeping gaze with Mara, taking a deep breath to just ignore her anger for this woman. She didn't look like she was in a shitty mood like last time they spoke, so maybe this could actually work. Squeezing the cat just a bit tighter, it purred. "Hello.. I'm Farrow. I was interested in joining SIU... are you.. still taking people?" she asked calmly, focusing on staying as lucid as possible.
Kae heard a noise and quirked an eyebrow, looking to the door of the cafeteria a moment because taking one last glance to the kids then moved out into the hallway and towards the front of the building. After some distance, Mara came into view, she was talking to someone through the glass door to the building. Sipping her coffee, she approached, still keeping distance then watched, drinking coffee with her arms half-crossed, looking fairly intrigued.

Mara blinked and blink again, as if her mind was having a hard time wrapping around that at the moment. " You want to join.... oh.. okay." there was a pause as she tried to regain her mental balance while glancing toward the cat and up again.
"Currently we're in the mist of remodeling and rehiring as well a reworking a few policies. Internships won't be open until further down the line...actually I can give you a number you can call and check when we have openings if you want " she said calmly, not showing how much she wanted to go rawr, throw her hands up in the air and go directly to her room to rest for a bit.

Ashral took a deep breath. 'Don't get angry.. even if she's horrible, don't get mad...Why shouldn't I... This isn't her fault.. She's lying to me... She knows.. No, she doesn't... It's hard to tell.'
She had seemed to focus on Mara trying to think of what to say, her eyes narrowing just very slightly. At that moment, the cat in her arms meowed lightly and seemed to nuzzle Ashral. She blinked and looked down at the cat for a moment before taking another breath then returning her gaze to Mara, frowning. "That's okay... I.. have a cell phone.. but I don't know when it will run out of battery since I've recently lost my home.... and I was staying in an empty warehouse... so.. thanks I guess..." she commented, looking away to the ground then turned to leave.

Mara blinked tiredly, her eyes seemed familiar. Then again with Kage having the same type of eyes there was no real surprise she thought it was familiar. "You lost your home... " she blinked more alert now and frowned. "How old are you?" she frowned then shook her head.
"Where are your parents?" she said looking toward the cat then back, that reminded her almost what Tri did when he was stressed..was that also a Shadow power too?. Focus, runaway or someone in need of help... likely runaway.

Ashral paused and turned back to Mara, thinking about her question for only a brief moment. "I'm... sixteen." she answered then narrowed her eyes in pain when she mentioned her parents. "I don't have parents... I mean, it was just.. my brother and I for a while... but he's gone now... I heard people talking about SIU and how they were trying to help keep the peace... and fight against bad Metas... I just thought I could at least try to ask if I could join... I'm a pretty good fighter.. just have difficult time stopping once I start.." she answered, trying to explain herself. She held onto the cat, looking down at it and took a breath. "If there's anything I can do to just help, that would be okay too..." she frowned. "But if you really aren't accepting anyone, I understand."

Mara frowned "Are you a meta?" grabbing on to the part about bad metas that or she was a true race wanting to help. Okay why was she talking to her through a door?
"Okay just come in... This really isn't the best time but other wise we can see or call the police to help see if you have any other relatives around" she said pushing open the door with a sigh. If she was a meta well.. she was looking for volunteers..why any one would want to join at this moment she had no idea,.

'This is dishonest.. I can't help that.. I'm becoming a liar like them.. I have to... What honor do I have if I lie to others... They just keep adding up... Ree told me.... This is okay?...Yes... I can tell the truth later... I have to."
She nodded slowly. "I am a shadow meta..." she answered, shifting her weight a bit. She looked up to Mara as she invited her in. Nodding again as she took a step forward then paused. "I don't know what good the police would do. I don't really have any family. My brother and I aren't even related by blood... Like I said, I never had parents..." she frowned again, clearly feeling uncomfortable about the subject of her family. She then moved forward again and walked inside. "Thank you.."
A grin formed on her lips. "So you do have a heart under all that anger and paranoia..." she commented in her usual tone, taking a sip of coffee and walking forward to them. "...Nice to see you again, Mara..." she gave a faint smile through her unamused expression.

"I see. Okay then... if you're a meta that changes things really. " he said letting her in before closing the door. "I am force to say that if you want to be somewhere safe, Sanctuary a little further on might be a better idea than us. " he said truthfully with a faint frown as she backed up ad sized her up. So a Shadow meta with obviously shadow like powers. "If you want to stay with us you have to be aware I wasn't lying that we are still under new management and things really are a mess. If you are here for revenge ...we might not be the best place to get it" he said quietly before a sudden familiar voice behind them made her turn sharply, eyes wide in surprised then narrowing as an unfamiliar form came into view .
"Sylven? " she ask sharply shadows moving closer as she turned to look at the archangel and frowned. They were similar but different and the voice the voic- "Kae? " she said unsure and keeps glaring forgetting for the moment the new meta behind her.

Farrow shook her head. "I don't want to go hide at Sanctuary... I want to do something... And no, not because of some kind of selfish revenge. I.. just want to do good and be a better person... Fight for what's right rather than just let the chaos take control." she explained, a bit more determination in her voice. "I don't care how much of a mess it is.. I'd be worried if it wasn't with what happened recently.. I want to help... if you'll let me." she held tight to the cat that nudged her again and purred before she exhaled and then looked over to the woman who had been standing just a way a ways. She didn't know that person, but the features looked vaguely familiar and the ethereal feathers just like Ree's... was she related to them? Suddenly, a name came forth.. one she didn't recognize, then one she did. She tensed slightly as she tried to figure it out.
Kae chuckled, then looked to the girl then back to Mara. "You know... Tri called me that too... I'm curious to know about her.... At least you're better at guessing than he is though..." she smirked before looking to the girl again with an analyzing and careful look. "I go by Raven Senic..." she spoke then shrugged. "But I suppose you could call me that too... I don't really care." she seemed apathetic as she took another sip of coffee.

"...That's the name of his real mother. You -almost- look like her other than for some minor things " she frowned but relaxed as she mentioned hearing from Tri. Now that that was settled she started eyeing her and trying to just look through the illusion curiously. "What are you doing here? I thought you were still off at some beach recovering for a few more days" she said conversationally as she focused on the arm in the sling and the hints that she hasn't slept at least a day or so.
"and why is Raven here? " she muttered before looking back to the meta she had been talking to. "Renovations" as if that would explain everything. "Sorry I am seem a bit short.. I just came from the hospital and not feeling myself lately. " wondering if the Shadow was saying the truth, then again who really wanted to be a meta?
"Raven is everyone else here? " she asked Kae quickly before focusing again on the Shadow. "My name is Co-....Mara Gold... currently director for SIU and you are? "

"Hmmm... interesting... I didn't know his real mother looked like me.... though... now I feel a little less worried.... just a little... maybe not..." she sighed with exasperation. "Mm... my vacation was cut a little short after a phone call... said maybe you needed a friend a bit sooner than expected... so I came over as soon as I could...." she answered, trying to explain the best she could.
Ashral followed the conversation with her eyes before settling on Mara again. "I'm Farrow....... Farrow Branwen..." she answered calmly before looking down at the cat. "And his name is Orrin." she added then looked to Mara, to Raven, then back to Mara. "...I like her name...." she muttered softly. "...it's also my item.."

"Nice to meet you Farrow. I will... need to to fill out some papers. SIU is under renovation as I said in the past minute I don't know how many times..but that means this is the main building. Please excuse the smell of decomposing blood...nearly dying does that. Let me go get the application..I assume you're staying ..and i'll get you a room key before trying to figure out where everyone else" she muttered moving toward her office if at least to not be in between them any more.
"Sylvin? Little different and with a personality that you want to punch ..but then again we only talked ...once" she said blandly, obviously a story there as she looked annoyed. "I hope that friend didn't run off to do something stupid when he told you" she sighed reaching up to run her hand through her hair. Okay she really wasn't up for this today.
"Thank you for cutting your vacation short and helping though" she turned into her office and after the sound of a sliding folder cabinet comes out with an application and pen that she holds out to farrow then pauses. "Wait.... can you read?"
