With no way to channel his anger into tracking down law-breaking bail-jumpers, Whittaker had marked the location of the facility's gym the first time he had seen it. He'd known immediately that it would be where he spent most of his time and was at least pretty thankful that he was going to be able to keep up with that small part of his daily routine. Since it wasn't truly his choice to stop working for the time being he was doing his best not to let the disruption concern him overly much - this was an unpredictable hiccup in the life of a bounty hunter, for all that it was already erratic despite his attempts at giving it structure.

While he was here, he would just commit more of his time to fitness. Before this unexpected turn of events he'd only needed to be in better shape than a street rat running from him - but now something suggested he would have to best many other things. What, exactly, he wasn't sure but he would get the best head start he could manage.

He arrived earlier than most people were willing to show up and had already built a heavy sweat from the punching bag he had been blowing all of his silent frustrations on when he felt another presence arrive. There were no headphones to keep him distracted, no noise other than the sound of his own heavy breathing and the soft suction of air as he popped the top of his water bottle. The sandy blonde brought it to his lips and turned with a heaving chest, watching the woman as she made her way through the various mats and equipment in this part of the gym.

Who was she, he wondered? Not Mars, certainly, he'd have known if she were by now but the look on her face could have passed her off as much.

Alexandra didn't seem to suffer as poorly from the displacement as the rest of them seemed to because she was one who kept to herself for the most part anyway. If she wasn't required to deal with people, she preferred not to. They were often just distractions, with meaningless chatter they wanted to fill her head with that she didn't care about.

She was, so far, the only other Athena chosen that she'd interacted with but she wondered if that was because her deity was pickier or if she simply done so well at being avoidant that she hadn't met the other.

In the end it didn't matter, because she occupied her time with keeping up on the world news and politics (and was horrified by Britain's exit) and getting in what homework she could from the teachers who had agreed to allow her to continue course work online. She couldn't turn down an opportunity to learn about magic, but she also didn't want to fall behind in school.

Compromises were made.

And when she wasn't doing that, Alexandra spent all of her time in the gym, keeping up on her fitness in case she needed it. There'd been talk of monsters with their introduction into magic and well, she was a kick boxer. Fitness was important.

When she walked into the gym, at a time when most would still be sleeping, she hadn't expected to find anyone else. So, it took her a moment to register Whittaker's presence as she focused on the bandages she was wrapping around her hands, pulling them taut.

It was the weight of his gaze that drew her attention, head turning so sharp blue eyes could meet his gaze. She came to a halt, mid bind, to stare back, lips pursed and a dark brown brow arching in a question, challenge even. Can I help you?
