A grey lioness walked alone in the dusk light passing through low scrub trees and short grass. It was a place entirely new to her and she was excited. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and stars were just starting to appear. The lioness always seemed to have a scowl on her face, but in truth she was kind and tried hard to work on her resting mean face.
It seemed where ever she went there was family and the serious lioness wanted to have a little bit of freedom, a time to find herself and know who she was. Brisa wanted to just be for a moment away from her Pride Land family and on her own. At times she missed the mountains, but she always wanted to see something besides mountains and plains. Maybe I'll find the jungle, or perhaps a desert. DavyJnah I'm so old school, I always forget you can quote to tag someone in a post

He had been nearly dragging his feet for the last hour or so. It had been a day for the male. He had been somewhat food drunk after his last kill a few hours prior and he was full of water too. Though he spent much of his time in the trees he had decided to take some time on the ground. It was a much needed reprieve from the lazing around rooftop of the world, okay maybe one of the rooftops of the world. He'd save that for the mountains he wouldn't dare set foot in. It was not his place.
But he did not stray too far from where he stayed in the jungles of Africa. Careful of the other more dangerous creatures that could be around. He nearly ran into the female lioness as he kept his head down. A groan rumbling through him.

Brisa stopped abruptly as the Leopard approached her and nearly bumped into her.
"Pardon you!" She said quickly and then bit back her tongue so she wouldn't say anything else that was offensive to him. He was a stranger and could be dangerous. "We need to watch where we're going apparently."
She backed up a few paces and kept the scowl on her face, she wasn't going to show a stranger - especially another predator any weakness but she didn't want to be too close to a stranger either.
Her stomach growled at that moment and she flushed with embarrassment, a comical look crossing her face.

Upon hearing her he snapped into reality and looked at the offended female whom he nearly ran into. "Apologies miss." At least be respectable to the other. Although he could tell she was a hot head. Maybe he shouldn't say something that could get him in trouble.
Hunger. Looked like she was hungry. If only she had run into him earlier. He could at least given her the last few vestiges of his food. That stomach growl had been something he had a few hour prior to his large kill. What was left could be given to any scavengers in the area.

Oh he was apologizing and that made the lioness feel foolish.
Brisa wasn't always so touchy, she was grumpy from hunger and her face always looked like she was peeved. She tried her best and was always kind - but she was on her own, it was the first time she'd been alone. She was on her way to the jungle for an adventure, to meet others, and see what there was to see.
"Sorry," she mumbled, "a bit hungry, I've been walking for awhile and didn't stop to eat." She flashed an awkward smile at him.
"Isn't there a river in this direction?" She gestured with a paw towards what she hoped was a river. "Maybe there will be some fish or small prey." And water, suddenly she felt that her lips were too dry and she was tired.
"I didn't mean to snap." She added again.

She was pretty. Colors so close to his own pelt. He graciously accepted her apology with a small nod to her. He knew how hunger could turn him into an angry grump as well. So Akseli wasn't going to hold that against her at all. Heck, he had been known to attack when he was feeling the hunger set into him.
"You are quite alright." He added for good measure. "River." Did he remember a river in the direction she was headed, back the way he came. "I think there was." Still trying to think of where he had been and hadn't been. "Actually, I think there was. I can accompany you, if you'd like."
If she said no he'd be fine with that but he somewhat hoped she would. A chance to talk to a very pretty female wouldn't be that awful, even though she was not a leopard as well.

Brisa listened and then hesitantly nodded, what could it hurt to have this leopard escort her to the river, it would be faster to have company that knew where they were going, especially for the time of day it was.
"My name is Brisa, I'd like it if you could show me the way." She flashed another awkward smile. "Are you from around here? I'm from near the Pridelands." she gestured in the direction of the prides vaguely. She knew to be wary of strangers but she felt safe enough with him she had been rude and he returned with kindness and not aggression.

The male eyed her carefully. Though he had just come from that particular direction what would it hurt head back there. He had found good hunting there. Why change his location? He snapped back to reality and looked at her as she asked the question. At first he hadn't really heard it and then his mind pieced it back together again for him.
"I don't really live around here, but I've been in the area here for a while." The male answered. "Come, let's get going tot he river. Why are you headed that way anyway?" Curious as to why a lion wished to go towards water.

She started in the direction he indicated slowly and answered his questions, "I'm heading on an adventure." She chuckled a little. "Also running water is usually clean with nothing gross and there might be fish for my rumbling stomach." She loved the taste of fish and they were a little bit of a challenge to catch, especially in running water. She remembered that from her hunter training.
"You're not too busy to show me the river? I'd hate to keep you from something?"
She thought that he hadn't introduced himself and frowned, what if he wasn't as friendly as she thought. "Sorry, didn't catch your name?" She said trying to push any suspicions away, he was a fairly handsome leopard, she couldn't help but notice.
She wasn't terribly great at the flirting thing and wasn't about to awkwardly try with this leopard. He was handsome, but she could conduct herself nicely and try to smile the best she could.

The male was curious about this strange lioness and her want to go to water. What a strange one. "Adventure." The male chuckled, the sound a low rumbled. She was right, at least it was cleaner than somewhere else. "No, I am not busy at all." He shook himself off started off in the direction he had come from.
When she noted on the fact he had not given his name he startled, "Oh, my apologies. Its Akseli." He looked back at her. "Come come. It might be a half days trek to the river."

She felt more relieved that he'd given her his name and was seemingly very nice. A far less awkward grin spread across her face. Almost an entire day's trek with a handsome leopard!
"Akseli, I like that name."
Her grumbling stomach reminded her why she wanted to head to the river in the first place and she tried hard not to groan.
"Hopefully I find something small to eat on the way," she said said and continued to walk allowing him to take the lead.
