Moira had been called on by Zaku around the middle of the day, a little after lunch. The meeting didn't last long, but as she walked out of the room and headed towards the bedroom she had been sharing with Arno she seemed to have a lot on her mind. Running her hand through her hair, she tried to calm her thoughts as she prepped herself to tell the shark. It was not going to be fun, being away from him, but it was a mission.
Arno had just finished up eating lunch, and had finished brushing his teeth, when Moira had been called. He waved her on to go, knowing that Zaku probably just had some stuff to tell her. They always had private meetings, the renegade members and Zaku. He had workout equipment shuffled to their room, more using Momo to ask for it since he wasn't completely on good terms with Michael. He turned his head when the door was opening, slowly putting down a dumbbell. "Hey...what's up?"
Moving to sit on the bed, she let out a sigh, "He wants me to go on a mission, a simple one, but still a mission." As she spoke, she turned to look at him, already looking tired. "I was given a choice, one wasn't really what I wanted to do right now, so I took the Second option... I'm going to be heading to sanctuary to check up on the headmaster there as Delilah apparently isn't on good terms with him, so I get to go."
"Oh..." he turned to grab a little towel, wiping his head and back with is. "So why is renegade being sent to play parley with Sanctuary, didn't we just have talks with them not too far back?"
"I'm, by his own words, going to make sure that the headmaster didn't kill or s**t himself." Moira laughed softly, "Honestly, I've been wanting to go to deal with some personal things for awhile. Like see my mother's grave and maybe check out the mansion."
"Oh..." his voice trailed off. "I gotcha...so ...how long are you going to be gone for...?" He reached a hand out to touch her, letting it run down her good arm. He was secretly excited that it might not be too dangerous. He wanted to fight next to her if the business hit the fan.
She leaned back, smiling as he touched her arm, just a little reminder that someone cared, "well it's going to take nearly 5 days to drive there with breaks, and five to get back..as for how long I'm supposed to stay, Zaku didn't mention that. So at minimum, two weeks."
"Aww man. That sucks. You're going to be gone for so long...and you've got me hooked on you like a drug..." he laughed softly, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face into her.
Moira'st smile faded into a sad one, soon wrapping her arm around him, "I know I know, it's going to suck. But he did give me a phone, so maybe I can keep in contact with you while I'm away?" she asked.
"Yeah!" He rubbed his face against her. ” I should give you my number. The only number I have in my phone is the captain." He pat her body down, looking for her phone and slipped it out of her pocket to put his number in it. "I saved it under Shark. That way no one gets all weird since I have a bounty."
With a smile, she leaned down to kiss him, "I'm not going to let anyone take my phone, so don't worry. Besides, I'm not going to tell them where we are." As Moira looked down at him, she couldn't help but be happy that he cared, but saddened that she was leaving him.
He happily met her kiss and pulled back to listen to her talk and ran his fingers across her skin. "I'll miss every little muscle you've got while you are gone...but I'm a big boy, I'll wait for you." He replied, absentmindedly letting his hands roam across her. "Just...please keep in contact. And be safe."
Moira closed her eyes, enjoying the attention, "I'll contact you when I take breaks from driving and I'll call you when I get there, how about that? " she asked, smiling.
"Sounds pretty good." he left little kisses across her shoulder and left one last one on her jaw. "I don't normally kiss on you like that...mmm...but you always smell so refreshing...so, I'm not going to keep you from your mission. Sooner you go, sooner you are back."
"I know I know, but I just want to enjoy this a little longer." She pouted, soon pulling him closer and down onto the bed, wanting to enjoy a little more intimate contact before she left for a while, considering the last time she had left the one she loved she ended up being captured and tortured.
He reached up and touched her face. "A big woman has a big heart. I'll learn to share you. But for now, you are mine."
He nodded, his breathing pattern shaking. "Alright...who am I to say no?" He smiled, his eyes half closed. "I love you Moira. You are one of a kind. “
Moira smiled more and held him closer, "I love you too, Arno. I really do." With a soft laugh, she opened her eyes and looked at him, "A big heart is also, sadly, easier to break. “
"I'll bring the rope and glue. That way no one can hurt you." He stared into her eyes. "I won't. I promise."
Smiling and chuckling a little, she leaned in to kiss him again, "I'll be fine now, I think. It's just hard to shield your heart from attacks when it's been vulnerable for a long time, but I think mine is better now..."
Arno sighed softly, a happy sigh, but a sigh nonetheless. "I will be your shield. In the dark or pouring rain. No one will hurt you again for as long as I breathe."
Her smile turned slightly sad, "Arno, you know I can protect myself, right..?" she asked softly, not wanting him to get too headstrong in wanting to protect her - more so considering that it could end badly.
He nodded. "Yeah...I know..." he let his mind wander over everything. "But I'll always be by your side. At least. I can be more useful to you." He was really used to being a pawn that undyne would use to extend her will.
Brows furrowing, she held onto him still as she slowly sat up, intending to sit up and end up with him in her lap, "Arno... I do want you to live your own life, you know. I want you to be able to experience things and enjoy life ... being in a relationship is a bonus, because then you have someone, or multiple people, to come home to and talk about your experiences. I don't want to use you..“
"I...I know that." He tensed his jaw. His arms snaked around her. "Words I'm not good with then. I'm not used to speaking so much. Or talking about my feelings." he sighed into her neck. "I'm..I've always been a tool for someone's use.“
Moira looked down at him, worry shown across her face and in her body as her muscles tensed slightly, "Well, you're not a tool to me. You're a person.." she whispered, leaning in to rest her chin on the top of his head, ”You're important to me..“
He laughed softly. "That's probably the first time I've heard that. Thank you." He slipped his hands into her hair. "I've always been important. Just not like you mean..."
"Well - you're important to me because you exist and you make me smile.." Moira leaned into his hands, closing her eyes again.
"I'd hope so. It'd be weird if you just made the smile on your face without being happy. They say you need yonder a doctor about that stuff." He tugged softly at the knots in her hair. "How often do you brush this? Your hair is gonna get bad. Maybe a haircut..."
She stuck out her tongue a little bit before opening her eyes a little, "I can't really brush it at all because of my lack of a second arm... I have been thinking about cutting it though.."
"I think any hairstyle other than shaving it all off would be nice." He replied, getting his fingers caught in her hair and slowly wiggling free. "Sorry, I was being insensitive. You could get a Mohawk like me, then we could be Mohawk buddies. " He teased, lifting his back and catching her tongue with his mouth. "Gotcha..."
Scrunching her face, she gently patted the side of his face so she could get her tongue back, "I could get it all chopped off, or I could leave it as is.. we'll see." she smiled, "I've left it growing since I was a small child, so it'd be nice to have a change of pace."
He nodded and put his hands in his lap. "Yeah, anything will do really. You have such pretty hair I don't like seeing it neglected. “
"Well... if I do get it cut, I won't be able to do the thing I've been doing where I wrap it around your neck.." Moira mumbled, frowning a little. She had enjoyed doing that.
"I..." he wiggled a little bit, his loins and face heating up at the thought. "Well...it is tough...but maybe a collar or rope would do the trick...."
With a smile, she reached up to touch his face again, "Maybe. We'll see what happens when I'm out, I guess? I could always come back with a gift or two for you."
"Gifts are nice. I like gifts." He chuckles. And leaned into her hand. "Mmm you are always so warm. It feels nice."
He nodded. "You heat a lot of things on me babe." He squeezed her frame tightly, burying his face in her chest and shaking his body, enjoying the smell and warmth. He could feel her heart.
Rubbing her thumb against his cheek, she leaned in closer to him, "I could be your space heater." Moira chuckled a little, knowing that she had a lot of mass and therefore a lot of body heat.
Moira smiled and held him close, slowly leaning back down onto the bed, "Mmm... this is nice." she moved her hand to rub his back a little, just content in existing quietly with him for a little longer. It was something that she loved to do, just the small, quiet moments in life.
Arno cuddled up on top of her and closed his eyes. "Are you leaving today...?" He questioned, his mind mulling over his personal affects.
She nodded, "Yeah, He wants me to leave in an hour or two, which is why I immediately came back here."
"I have something for you." He wiggled off of her to the little chest that he had in the room. Reaching into his mouth, he pulled a small key that he kept hidden between rows of teeth and unlocked the chest. He pulled a small necklace is shark teeth out and brought it over to her. "To remind you of me. Also if you need a quick razor. " he chuckled nervously. "It's...a...collection of my younger teeth. Stuff that's been knocked out or grown out. It means a lot to me."
Sitting up when Arno wiggled off of her, she watched him go over to the strange chest she could never remember seeing him open before. It was interesting, to say the least, watching him open it, though as he pulled out the necklace, she just stared at it. Being completely silent as she hesitantly held out her hand, she seemed a little scared to take it, but thankful as well. "You're... trusting me with it?" Moira asked hesitantly, wishing she could give something for him to hold onto, but she didn't have anything - aside from her wedding band - to give to him.
He nodded. "Yeah...It'll be safe with you. I finally started moving all my personal affects into the room, since this is where we normally sleep. That way it didn't feel like I was going to turn tail and run at the sign of trouble. I can be pretty abrasive." He scratched the back of his Mohawk and bit down softly on his lip. He fiddled with his fingers after giving it to her and kicked the floor a little with the tip of his foot.
Smiling a bit more, she moved to put the necklace on, taking her time as it was quite a bit smaller for her and she was having to deal with it with one hand, but once she got it settled around her neck, it was sitting around it like a loose choker, almost. "I..." she paused, looking down at the wedding band on her ring finger, "I wish I could...give you something that I could trust you with...." she mumbled, feeling bad that all she had was the ring, and now the phone and the necklace.
"It's okay. You've given me a lot lately. How's about this, you lend me something like a hair band or something that has your scent all over it, to remind me of you when I'm not feeling too hot." He gave her a thumbs up, relieved that she liked the necklace.
Thinking about it, she tilted her head a bit. Pretty much everything in the room had her scent on it by now, and she didn't really have anything, aside from the ring, that she had kept from her past. "I could...give you..uhm." she thought for a moment more and stood up, moving to the dresser and rummaging through the clothes that Kate had made her. After a little more digging she gave up and looked over to a small pile on the floor. Walking over, she pulled out a hoodie and held it up, "How about this? I've been wearing it a lot."
Arno nodded, grabbed the hoodie from her, took a deep breath of it and slipped it up and over his body. "Yes. This will do....This will do nicely." It looked more like a night shirt on him but he shrugged and slipped his hands in the sleeves. "Mmm...Yes. I like it." He hugged her and rubbed the hoodie against her. "I like it."
She smiled a bit and hugged him back, happy that he liked it, "I'll give you something better when I get back, ok? “
"Yes. I'll hold you to that." He gave her the biggest smooch, his arms snaking up around her neck and clung to it without much effort. "Alright...now get going before I stop to think that you are leaving.”
"Okay okay. I'll get going." Moira smiled sadly, leaning down to kiss him a couple times before worming her way out of his arms, "I'll call you tonight when I set up to sleep, okay?"
"Yes. Please, do that." He nodded and pat her butt softly. "You have a good time, and remember to eat. " He crossed his arms and just watched her for the moment. "I'll...Miss you. “
"I will I will." she chuckled, pausing, heading to the door and just standing there. Letting out a pained sigh, she looked back to him and smiled, "I'll miss you too. I love you." she whispered.
”I love you too!" Arno called out, letting it echo in the room. "Have fun!" He waved at her and kept a smile on his face as she left. The smile slowly turned to a frown and he set back down on the bed.
Moira smiled at him before she finally left the room, heading off to talk to Zaku about how she would make her way to Sanctuary proper.
