Millennia ago, this was not an organization but merely the only valkyries in existence. The Twelve Valkyries were hand-picked by the Gods and instilled with a portion of their magic and power. However, when all twelve fell to put an end to Kamawanaiyo, Valkyries did not exist for centuries after. Only in more recent times, around 4,000 years into the past, did newer Valkyries arise. The new generation of Valkyries are not as physically nor magically strong, but are still forces to be reckoned with. These new Valkyries can only breed with Angelic beings and no others, so many of them are born and raised in Erowyth. Males cannot be Valkyries, but they are often reborn as pegasuses that the Valkyries ride into battle. The bond between a Valkyrie and her pegasus is pure and sacred; no other shall ride the pegasus chosen for a Valkyrie and if the pegasus dies, the Valkyrie will never receive another. Their bond is a friendship for life.
They are the warriors in charge of training the Erowyth army since they have learned the ways of battle from the Gods above. If they say something, it is often seen as absolute, even though they are not known to hold any political power. Their social standing as the protectors of Erowyth gives them this advantage.
There are not many within the ranks, as they are still trying to breed and create a stronger force. They plan to have their own army of Valkyries within their stronghold, located in the capital near the Training Arena. Within a century, they hope to have numbers closer to 1,000 rather than the 40-50 they have currently.
