Marcus was aware that he had a file at the police station. Well, maybe not a file but probably a running notice that he called in about things a lot. And he was suspected to be onto the government's cover-ups. But maybe that was just the FBI. He didn't know. In any event, Marcus was aware that sometimes, the police didn't take him very seriously. So when someone stole the head of his very impressive and very cool looking, (if he did say so himself), metal sculpture of a viking Marcus was stuck with police saying 'Marcus please just look around your property you might have misplaced it'. Which was false. One didn't just lose their heads, (he was very meticulous about his sculptures. And their limbs). It was only when someone took an arm did the police start to take Marcus seriously. It was when a second arm was taken that they said they'd look into it. Now, he was down to a torso and one sad looking leg. He rather liked his viking sculpture. It was very interesting and at the least it did tend to keep people from trying to take his flamingo. Still, he was down a head, two arms, and a leg. And despite his thoughts that it could be something otherworldly, he was also being practical. He was more than aware of the teenagers that had recently been skulking about his home, and on how the stolen limbs all were taken during daylight hours when he was at work. 9-5. Hours teens no longer had because school was out. Marcus figured it was teenagers or some very odd creatures with just good taste in art. In either case, he wanted to at least get it all done properly so IF it was teenagers, they'd be held accountable. Youth was no excuse for crime after all.

Shun had not yet had the pleasure (or displeasure) of meeting Marcus yet, but he did hear a thing or two from Mercer regarding the guy. He sounded like quite a nuisance, honestly. Supposedly, this time around, something actually was wrong, and so he was being sent out to investigate the situation. He wasn't really thrilled, and he didn't have high expectations here. But he wasn't about to not do his job because of that. Rolling up to the address he had been given, he stepped out of the car and made his way towards the door. He did take a moment to look around the front yard to try and get a little more of an inkling of what sort of guy Marcus was. Once he reached the door, he knocked firmly, then waited.

He'd been in the middle of nothing more than mundane laundry when the knock on the door had Marcus jumping. He'd nearly forgotten he was supposed to be expecting someone from the station. Tripping over a stool as he made his way to the front door, he went through the motions. Peeking through the window, then the eye-hole, then opening it just a hair with the sliding lock still latched. "......" There was no verbal questioning, just a small look up and down at the man on his porch. The door slammed shut then was opened very quickly, a visibly pleased Marcus standing on the other side. "You're here about my stolen viking yeah?" They had sent someone, which as far as Marcus was concerned, was already a vast improvement to 'Mr. LeCroix it is one am and we have been over this before; if you don't close the lid on the trash bins raccoons will get inside and cause a disturbance. No one is stealing your garbage.'

Shun was about to say something when he saw the door begin to open just a sliver, but it suddenly slammed and opened in a blink of an eye. A sigh escaped him, and he went on to show his badge. "Sergeant Shun Kuroda," he offered, "... And yes. This is about your stolen property report."There wasn't much enthusiasm in his voice. It was a little flat, but otherwise fairly neutral.

Relaxing and motioning for the detective to come inside, Marcus smiled looking around to make usre the man would have a place to sit. A place not occupied by various textbooks and too many copies of old National Geographic. "Come on in. Or do you need to see whats been stolen first?" Marcus had never really had a formal report done on anything he owned. Not one that even he suspected was probably mundane at the least. "TV isn't always accurate as far as cops and robbers as it goes."

"I would like to see the images of what was stolen, and where it had been kept," Shun nodded as he stepped inside. It was some sort of statue-thing, right? "It is rarely accurate," he stated, regarding the TV comment. He wasn't sure how many times he had caught a scene of some cop show on TV where people were hovered around a computer screen, telling it to 'enhance' images. Too many.

A non that looked more like Marcus bouncing his head, the man went to a nearby bookcase, pulling out a photo album. It was large, worn on the edges, and holding too many photos given its bubbled cover and back. "Now let's see here." It hit the coffee table with a dull think before Marcus opened it, fanning through the pages while catching the few photos and newspaper clippings that threatened to fall out. "Ah there we go." Pulling out a photo, it showed a very proud looking Marcus in front of what could only be described as a very sharp and metal sculpture of a man that appeared vaguely Nordic. "And..." Another Photo, this one a detail shot which was actually slightly impressive, if only because it showed the embossing work on part of the 'clothes' portion. "It was just out front. Or what's left of it is out front. A bit to the side because I guess someone who drives by in the mornings complained about it's being creepy. No creepier than ceramic lawn gnomes and cookie cutter holiday decorations in my opinion but what can you do about assimilation yeah?" He froze, eyes looking towards Shun with a sudden interest. "Er, not that I am against the nuclear family all American ideal. Nope. Nothing wrong with it. Not a thing. I just uh, prefer... other forms of artistic expression. Not government mandated ones." WAS THIS GUY IN DEEP OR WAS HE LEGIT? Marcus wasn't so sure if he'd made a mistake.

Shun took the photos and looked them over carefully. The statue was a little odd to him, but it really wasn't that bad. Once Marcus mentioned where it had been placed, he looked over in that general direction. He soon turned back to the guy, raising his brow as he started to ramble on about... stuff. "...Right."He had heard that this guy was a little... something to deal with. Shaking his head to himself, he started to back outside. "How long had you had it there?" he asked, looking around for signs of where the statue had been kept. Depending on that answer, he figured there may be depressions in the ground, or even a lack of grass where it once had been.

Letting out a low hum, Marcus lifted up his hand as he mentally counted. It had been there since he'd gotten his new couch in april and he started his last project in may just before the incident... "At least 4 months. Not long enough for me to get moss or vine problems on it, but long enough that I had someone interested in buying it. Tourist from California- said it was very catchy and would look super 'dope' in their vegan cafe." Marcus's expression betrayed his thoughts on just how he felt about vegan cafes. "Haven't heard back from them, but, even if I did, can't just sell a leg and a torso now can I?" He walked around what was left of his creation. "Or I could and just say it's abstract. I digress. How do you think would do this?" Aside from metal eating demons or such was what he wanted to ask but so far he'd not smelled brimstone. Yet.

Long enough to have made some sort of depression on the grass then. Once out on the front lawn, Shun looked around. Marcus hadn't mentioned any drag marks or anything like that, but he checked the ground either way. It was also possible that the guy just hadn't noticed anything like that. "Depends on how heavy it is. They could have just lifted it if it were light enough. Dragging it off is a possibility, though that would have made some noise, even if they had brought a blanket or whatever to move it onto. Or even something with wheels."

To Marcus's eyes, he didn't see much aside from 'Missing statue' and 'I should water the flowerbed it looks sad'. "Its slightly heavy. Enough you could crush a flowerbed or small dog with it but not a small child." Arms crossed as if this was an important safety measure. "The whole things is fairly heavy. Legs mostly for support. But the upper half was mostly lighter material. You'd need two people at least. Or just one super beefy person. Depending." It wasn't a very good answer in the slightest. "It could have been moved via levitation or a tractor beam." A finger pointed skyward and to the tree line which was actually well kept and trimmed. "I've seen lights sometimes you know, and they don't make noise. They never do." He looked around the yard then across to the neighbor's lawn. "The parts vanished in daylight though, which isn't when they usually come about. Night might seem cliche but its the best time, less we might catch them but if you're smart you can easily spot them." Marcus was being 100% serious.

"Hmm..."If two people could hoist it out, then there wasn't really a need to drag it around necessarily. He was making mental notes of all of these bits and pieces. "Around what time of day, exactly?" he asked, "Also may I keep these photographs?"He needed to try and discern when it was most likely to have gone missing, as far as the time of day went. The thieves had to have driven the statue off... unless they really wanted to carry that thing on foot. Shun was also going to need to see if there was anyone in the area who had seen the statue potentially. The thing couldn't just vanish. His line of thought was interrupted as Marcus started to go into the absurd. Except well... it might not be completely absurd anymore. Still, he was more likely to think that this was a result of something normal than something like... an other being deciding to steal this statue randomly. "Lights do not usually make noise."

Marcus nodded a bit too enthusiastically at Shun's inquiry of keeping the photos. "Sure, sure. I have digital copies. Just in case you know." One could never have too much data backed up. Unless it was secret documents that were incriminating in which case you kept that under lock and key and burred in a suitcase off the side of a highway. Just in case. "Hrm. Parts would go missing while I was at work. So, 8 to 6 really. Commute takes me a while. Still, can't blame them. It's was a decent piece of art. Now it's not even worth being called abstract." He looked at what remained and gave a sigh. "Now it's just sad. BUT-" He reached out giving Shun a slap on the back. "I'm sure you'll find something. Though, if one were to hear lights-" A look was cast towards the wooded back of his home. "-I would be polite. It's always best not to get on the bad side of people and things. Even if to stay safe we have to you know," A motion to Shun's badge, "We have to work for them." Marcus was starting the usual Marcus Flair. Illuminati.

Nodding, Shun tucked the photos away for the time being, then fell silent for a bit. That was a fairly big window of time for the culprits to come in and start taking this thing apart. "What days were each of the pieces taken so far?"It was a long shot, but there could be a pattern beyond the fact that it happened during daylight hours. He wanted to try and narrow this down as much as possible. Though, he soon paused and just kind of stared at Marcus. The other man had lost him. "...Who are they?"

Marcus counted back on his fingers. "Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. They worked their way from the head down." Walking towards the front of the lawn, there was a brief moment that Marcus started looking over into his neighbor's yards, then trying to squint to see into their windows. A look up for drones and- "Okay so, the man you know. Them- I trust you because your name has been mentioned before around, but, I'm talking about the government. The real government." He snorted. "And no I'm not talking lizard people, I'm talking Illuminati. Not the fake kind." As if there were types.
