Before she'd left, Bousvor had set up a time and date for them to leave. He gathered a couple others who sometimes accompanied him on these ventures. Now he headed to the agreed meeting place for them to gather before heading out. He could understand her desire to be better than her sire; he only hoped Zjarri found what she was looking for on this trip.

Arriving he glanced around for the female. If he was any judge, it wouldn't be long before she showed up. Bousvor took the moment to consider what he'd be aiming to bring back this time. Food? Treasure? His mind strayed briefly to the info he'd gathered from an ex-pirate. That their dens were empty and any loot was there just for the taking. If they risked it, would more home-sick pirates be lurking about? It wasn't a risk he wanted to take with a novice.

Grinning from ear to ear she arrived at the agreed upon location. She was eager to arrive early, but held herself back a little at the anticipation that the others may not feel as eager or excited to be leaving. As this was her dream she was sure Bousvor would understand.

"It is a good day to die!"

The lioness proclaimed the common greeting while gazing about the skies. Today was indeed a good day. She just couldn't wait to begin, but she was showing her patience. Her Father had told her, whatever Bousvor says she was to follow. That was exactly as she planned to do.

"Thank you again, this opportunity will not be wasted."

Zjarri was determined to show her worth here. Some day she hoped to exceed her own expectations and become a Captain, just like the Captain of this Viking. He was admirable and fair, everything she hoped to be.

"So where are destined for today?"

As he'd expected she arrived suddenly and full of energy. Ah it was good to be young. He smiled to himself.

"You'll prove you have iron in your blood." He'd no doubt she'd do well on this trip. Not that he was going to make it easy for her. With everyone gathered he rose to his feet. As Captain he led the way. He set a ground eating pace to get them far out and into prime territory. It was a joy to be out and moving again. To feel the wind in his face as he moved along. Automatically he checked to see how the group was keeping up.

They were starting to get to the areas that he really called wild. Lands that belonged to no one. He mulled her question for a moment as his green eyes scanned the landscape. "I was seeing where the gods might lead us." Bousvor glanced up into the sky as if expecting a sign.

Glimpsing a small smile on her Captains face told her that her arrival was welcome and likely expected.

Zjarri raised her head slightly at his comment. It meant more to her than he could possibly know. Still standing she was prepared to begin moving as soon as he began leading. She was following him, close as she could, between two other Reavers. She felt powerful running with them, accepted and simply amazing. With there movement brought winds that carried new smells as she left the comfort of her home into a new area. The nerves began to tick a little, but she calmed them immediately.

She was ready. She knew she was. If she came out of this with a scar, she would treasure it and hope that with it came a tale. If she came out of it with treasures than the same! Even if she hadn't received a physical prize of some kind she would have earned her own achievement of succeeding at her goal to become a Reaver.

Finally, though, Bousvor spoke again to answer her question. Though it wasn't entirely the answer she had expected. She remained silent however and when he gazed up she to looked to the sky, trying to see something she wasn't even sure was there.

I had Cavi move this to the rogue lands cause I derped. XD

He was surprised she didn't ask another question. Questions were rather expected from the young. His eyes scanned the sky until he picked out a dark speck. A bird high in the sky. He needed a direction for his group. Patiently he waited and watched. Then he saw the bird dive. That's the way it would be then.

Bousvor glanced and nodded at Zjarri. "We'll find what we find. Do you have any preferences on what you'd like this time?" He was curious at what she'd said she'd want. Some wanted thralls, or treasure. He knew that treasure could mean quite a range of things. He'd brought home skulls and feathers from his trips before. With practiced ease he sighted his line then set out at a strong lope again. There might be easy prey to take down ahead or others at a kill that could be taken as thralls.

Curiously, Bousvor was not a reaver or captain who forced his thralls. The ones he had brought back to the pride had all been informed and chosen to come willingly. Although granted Kisukari hadn't realized exactly what she was getting into at the time. He'd tried to tell her. When she had realized what she was in for, she'd come running back to him.

She missed the surprised look on the Captains face as she gazed hard in the sky, focused on the task at hand. Sure she had questions, but they could wait. Until it was all clear as to what the intentions may be, plus she didn't want to be that annoying newbie that was taken out and never wanted again.

Soon she spotted the same bird he had. Zjarri watched closely as this creature seemed to be their only sign of late. Any sign was a good sign, right? She hoped that was the case. Her hope was rewarded when he glanced to her and spoke. His words hit clear as day and she realized she hadn't really defined what she had hoped would be the outcome of this.

"If I could get a Thrall. I think that is my ultimate goal, but for a first Viking I wouldn't be incredibly jaded if I only came across treasures."

Honesty was always the best policy. She desired an individual that happened to be caught out in the wrong place, wrong time.. for them at least. Not that she intended to be a vicious owner, not in the slightest. But she knew, from her family experiences that she was a stern lioness. With ease she picked up the pace again, with a destination in mind the speed became easier, much easier. Her hope carried her at this point in time and the eagerness likely showed clear as day on her face.

The sign of a good reaver company was how fast they could move. Bousvor noted they made excellent time toward his chosen location. If she held up through the rest of the trip, he'd be happy to have her in his band any time. That was later though.

A great many reavers wanted thralls when they went aviking. There was a certain amount of prestige to bring back a slave to the pride, usually unwillingly. His green eyes glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. Bousvor wondered what kind of master she'd be. Why did she want a thrall? "That's a realistic goal." Nothing said if she didn't get one this time that she couldn't attempt another viking.

They got closer and Bousvor slowed them a bit cautiously. His eyes roamed to see if he could spot anything interesting. He gave a soft rumble for the group to be cautious. "Looks likes there's been recent activity." The tawny male lead his group up toward a watering hole. A common gathering spot for prey and predator.

During their run she began considering what she would do with a Thrall. What was a Thrall to her? Likely something akin to a house keeper. Zjarri hadn't figured she'd get this far this fast, but it didn't bother her any, these were things she could consider in the future. The here and now were what remained important to her.

Awkwardly, as she wasn't sure how to respond, she nodded to his comment. Her goals all seemed realistic, it was likely one of her golden qualities. She could always achieve what she had in mind because she wasn't living in a fantasy world. Calm, cool and collected. Or so she always attempted to be, Bousvor had clearly seen the sides of her that weren't so collected.

The blue lioness slowed, quickly as she could, to match pace with her Captain. She noted the way he stood and the way his eyes glanced about. So she began to match these as well, at least as well as she could, given her smaller stature. Indeed he was right, even her untrained eyes could see that the area had been disturbed recently. "A watering hole." She noted quietly. Then she spotted them.. paw prints.

The first ripples of excitement hit her hard. She almost gave it away, but unless someone was staring into her eyes she outwardly kept her cool. "Bousvor, paw prints!" She proclaimed in a whisper. Now had she been thinking she would have realized there could be plenty of paw prints, but these were HER paw prints that she had found. This was important to her.

Once the reality settled on her that perhaps the owner of these paw prints could be long gone she spotted something amiss among some foliage. "Is that.. fur?" Still quietly, but out loud, she noted a tuft of fur sticking out. Whether it was attached to a branch or plant of some kind or if the beast itself was still there, she hadn't the foggiest.

If the beast wasn't there, it was certainly nearby.

Umiza had wandered away from her family that morning. She sometimes enjoyed being alone, and it was hard to do when she had so many siblings. There were new young ones, three new small siblings that were fully her blood. It was just too much sometimes!

So the tan ion had moved far away from her family. She contemplated not returning to her family in a few days, shaking her head. It was nice, being on her own. At least she had some alone-time. Even so, Umiza rubbed her body against anything high enough to scratch again, scent-making so she could find her way back. Some of the lose fur pulled away as well, which was always a benefit.

After she was a ways away from her family, she sat down to relax and wonder about her future.

She recognized the area same as he did. Watering holes could be common or rare depending upon the area. The more common the harder it was to find things as they could be at other places. This particular one appeared to be fair active judging by the many hoof prints. Zjarri spotted the paw prints seconds before he did. With a private grin to himself, he bequeathed the find to her. Bousvor was pleased that she remained calmed, although she was excited. Who wouldn't be?

"Excellent," he murmured just as quietly as she. "Well spotted on the fur. Whoever it belongs to can't be too far. Take point and track them down. We'll back you up." He gestured to the other reavers with them. The group fanned out with Zjarri at the head and center. If they could they'd surround whoever they found. He scented the air to gather what information he could.

What specie was it? They'd have to be fast with a leopard or cheetah; the first could climb trees better than he, and the second ran a heck of a lot faster than he did. Lions on the other paw had their own things. Males were more likely to fight, females.. well that depended upon the female. He grinned. "Let's go."

The lioness inhaled deeply as the lead was handed over to herself. Her mind began to fog with the lust for this opportunity, but after a quick head shake she gathered herself together and began the investigation. Soft pink orbs peered at the piece of pelt that littered the plant, just once more before taking a few steps away.

One unit. That is what she pictured when she felt the forces move behind her, becoming aligned, watching and awaiting her plan of attack. Should they need one that was. Zjarri steeled herself for the reality that perhaps the owner of that fur may have already left, sought different grounds. That was always the chance.

Lets go.

She was tickled pink as her paws lifted once more, this time carrying more than just her, they carried with her the whole group that was backing her up. It was such an incredible moment that she knew immediately this is what she wanted to do, this is where she aimed to go. It would be Captain or nothing. She reveled in the moment a second longer before lowering her head and scanning the area.

"There."

One word. Then silence. She instead glanced back and made a motion with her paw towards a direction. Faintly, in the distance she had noticed a movement and it just so happened to be a tail. It appeared as though some individual had decided here was as good a place as any to ponder the meaning of life. At this point she had decided that the best course of action was to determine what species their 'prey' was. To find this out she signaled the party of storm born to wait and began her subtle movement to get a better view.

"A lioness!"

She said in an excited whisper, directed to Bousvor. Now what? Those bright pink orbs widened as she realized this moment was all on her. The decision making, plans and actions. She felt a rush of nervous excitement crawl through her further and she began stalking closer.

Umiza wasn't quite sure how long she had been away from her family, but the sun had certainly changed it's location in the sky since then. It'd been at least some hours, but she couldn't be quite sure. She rolled her shoulders, pondering going back to the group. She was sure they didn't miss her, after all. The group was growing, though some of her siblings had left.

Still, there were always, always new additions coming in, in the form of small cubs. She loved her family, she did, but it was all she knew. She rather craved something different - structure in the way that her parents and siblings could not provide. The young lioness huffed a sigh and stood.

Either way, she would have to go back to them eventually. She couldn't quite shake a feeling, though, that something big was going to happen, but she shook her head and stepped away from the place she was sitting, trying to decide what she would do with her life beyond this point.

As he hoped, the lioness was up to the task he'd casually tossed upon her shoulders. If she couldn't handle this now when she had his experience and knowledge as back up, then would she be truly suited to the roll? It was quite likely a trial by fire. Would she be a natural or need some coaching for the future? Or she could completely decide she hated this life.

So far Zjarri appeared to be thriving. Bousvor watched her take hold of herself, then lead the group forward. Not letting it go to her head was a great start. He moved along and kept his eyes open; noting the signs silently as she pointed them out. It was good tracking. Then the reward for their careful tracking came into sight. He was almost afraid she'd spoken too loudly, but it appeared they hadn't been heard quite yet.

"Do you want to capture her?" He murmured softly to Zjarri's ear. She could decide to not capture, although most reavers probably never had that thought cross through their heads. Bousvor let her stalk closer. It looked like they were going for it.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 09, 2016 5:37 pm

She was proud, her only true struggle was how excited she had felt when finding her prize. Scolding herself internally once more was enough for now. Now how would she go about doing this - to answer Bousvors question she simply nodded, grateful it was a yes or no question. That was the easy part, now it came down to either using brute force or persuasion. This would likely define her in the eyes of her Thrall to be and the Captain she hoped to call an ally in the future. Recalling her time with him earlier she noted that though he had chores for his Thralls he had teased in a way that suggested they would almost talk back.

Zjarri was certainly influenced in the choice she made next. It was never her intention to be a cruel or even violent Master, but perhaps she thought she'd be a bit tougher in her mindset of the moment. A quick glance back to her group suggested they hang back. If she were to do this, at least for the moment, she would do this alone and try her hand at persuading the lioness to join her. There were plenty of perks for being in the Stornborn, many that she would allow her Thralls to enjoy.

Her Thralls.

A giddy tickle hit her and she bore a huge grin, an appropriate way to start the conversation. She straightened herself up and began the walk over. "Hello!" She called out, pale pink orbs were glued to the lioness, focused for any look of springing away or lunging. Though she would try this a civil way first Zjarri was not against getting aggressive.

The tan lioness had been about to start walking when she heard a voice. She didn't see where the voice had come from, but a quick turn of her head revealed a lioness - one she had never seen before. Honestly though, Umiza had never met anyone beyond her family. Her family was large, and she wasn't ever bored. She herself was from a fairly large litter, after all. Sometimes, though, she just needed to get away, and now she was here.

The tan lioness stepped back, shy and uncertain. She watched the lioness for a moment, wary of the strangers. "Ah, hello," She greeted, though. The gaze on her was pretty intense, she felt. She glanced back by the others, looking at the other lion, a strong looking male. She frowned before glancing back at the blue lioness. She squirmed a bit - the only time she'd ever been stared down she had been in trouble.

"What brings you here?" She asked next, trying to remember the manners her mother had tried to teach all her children. She wasn't very good at it, though, either way, but she could at least try, right?
