Annoyance was the look that had washed over her face as she sat near a small out cropping of rocks. Night was waning into sunrise soon she knew that she would need to be on her way again. She felt a bit bitter that she hadn't found somewhere to call her home. She missed her family and wondered vaguely if she might see them again. Little did she know she would be seeing them sooner than she expected. Time was not of the essence here as she got up and lazily headed away from the out cropping. Daylight would soon be creeping across the Savannah and rouse anyone sleeping awake.
Yawning a stretching she decided to head out. Heading towards the trees she could see in the distance.-------- "Uzi." The female groaned as she dragged her paws. So they had currently walked a little bit and by a bit meaning a few days in search of 'greener' pastures. A place to call home. She missed her cubs dearly. The talk that they had had brought on some powerful emotions in her. Emotions that she had just started to get over but she wouldn't let them twist her up inside too bad and she was not going to falter in her strong demeanor to allow them to come to the surface. No no. She was better than that. However she wanted to get away from the location they were in, she needed some more trees. More cover.
"There. Trees." It would be different for the lion she guessed but if she was able to at least travel by branch she would enjoy it even for a little bit while he stayed down below. "Let's head that way."
Little did she know they might run into a familiar face... or faces.Mogami Yay family RP and intros! magnadearel I hope you're ready for the family fun!

He knew she was tired but Gebhuza didn't want them to stop, not yet. This was unfamiliar territory, full of potential threats that he hadn't been able to scout ahead. It was not a position he liked to find himself in. They were now losing the cover of darkness as well so the trees were a welcomed sight.
"Yes, cover. We might be able to find water nearby, too." He nudged her gently in way of encouragement, well aware that she was more comfortable on trees than he could ever be. "Almost there."
Rest was sounding like an increasingly tempting prospect. They needed to gather their strength, sleep for a few hours and decide which direction to take next. Belatedly - he must be more tired than he thought - Gebhuza realized that their destination might be occupied. A good spot of cover was certainly in high demand in the dangerous plains. His head lowered dangerously as his steps turned cautious.
"Careful, now." He whispered to his mate.
---
From the completely opposite side of the trees, Tachi was following the familiar scent of a female. He was unsure if it was someone from the old pride or someone he'd met during his travels. He was hoping for family. He missed sleeping in a cub pile, sleepily leaning against his mother and gnawing persistently on his father's cloth adornments. He missed the scent of the pride lands, the trees, his mother's laugh and his father's low-rumbling voice.
Lessons learned were never forgotten and he kept his body low as he checked his surroundings with cautious eyes. He was usually left alone, often confused for a large adolescent lion whose mane had not yet fully grown until more perceptive eyes noticed his tail. He still had to be careful, though. Many reacted strangely to the fact that he was a leopon, becoming offended or even aggressive mid-interaction once his hybrid status became known. He couldn't underestimated them even if he disregarded their opinions entirely. Idiots had claws, too.

Najwa-Shula was out patrolling. Her pride wasn't yet at the point where she could leave that job entirely to those of the Dagrún. She was using this as an excuse to also stretch her legs. Being the leader was fun, but she'd rather be out scouting in the shadows. It was still quite small in fact. As the leader, she knew that they needed more breeding pairs. Too bad I can't have cubs, she thought wistfully. At least it would help the population, but she'd come to terms with that a long time ago.
She paused to listen with a quiet shadow at her side. She took joy in caring for Miyako. Maybe someday the serval would have cubs that she could help pamper. Najwa pulled her wandering thoughts back to where they were suppose to be. Guard duty. The hybrid watched the sky slowly start lightening. Soon the ninjas would sleep. She smiled to herself. If only her parents and siblings could see her now.
Miyako was Najwa's little shadow. The pair had bonded when Najwa was just a cub, and she'd stuck beside the hybrid even when the ninjas drifted away into the night never to return. But now they were. Green eyes glanced up at the dark hybrid. She admired the strength Najwa had to refound her pride. The serval drifted to the edge of the forest. Being smaller she would be harder to spot in the brightening gloom than the bigger feline. She spotted the dark group moving toward the trees. "Heads up Najwa. Visitors," she whispered back to her bigger companion.

Kaveri gave a groan at him. Yes he was being cautious as she should as well but she was so tired that it almost sounded like nagging and that was her job not his. Although the prospect of water urged her on further and she began picking up her pace again. Water within these trees would be amazing. Although it was the shade that was more her pace at the moment as she slowly got into a run using the last of her desire to get to the new area. It was one place they didn't go to since Uzi wasn't the type to be among the dense forest.
"I'm always careful." Kaveri retorted. As the dark leopon got to the trees she climbed them with an ease that would make others jealous. She still had all the skills she once had. Sitting so high in the overgrowth she spied a few others coming her way as well. Cautiously she began hopping from one strong limb to another until she was right above one dark male. He looked almost familiar and even his scent too.
Dropping down with a roar onto an unsuspecting Tachi she tumbled onto him. She was going to claw at him when her paw stopped just short of his face.
"Tachi?" The look on her face was of surprise having not expected to see her sibling. "What... what are you... How?" Leih'lana asked.

magnadearel Sorry, I posted an incomplete reply before. I got the right one in now. ^.^ Gebhuza snorted quietly, trying to turn the obvious sound into a cough - and failing miserably, of course - without taking his eyes off their destination. He wouldn't mock his mate, at least not openly, but he got the feeling she was feeling a little cranky after the long journey and he really couldn't help but to feel somewhat amused. The feeling, however, didn't last long.
"I think I saw something." It was hard so say, really, still far too dark to say anything with a good amount of certainty. Whatever it was, it was either really dark or a figment of his imagination. He kept up with Kaveri, breaking into a light run, red eyes seeking potential threats. "Maybe it was nothing..." His tone was dubious and a thin line of hairs stood on end along his spine.
---
Tachi froze, one paw in the air showing how unsure he was suddenly feeling. The wind carried more familiar scents, far too many for them to be true unless more than half of his known relatives were having a secret family meeting. He could see a couple of shapes running in the distance and wondered if he should follow. They seemed to be heading towards the small cluster of trees nearby. Soon, the sun would rise and burn the plains without mercy... Water and shade sounded lovely at this point.
In the end, it was curiosity that made him push forward. After all, there were familiar scents in the area and he simply had to find who they belonged to. Maybe his parents were in the area, maybe one of his sisters. Either way, it was all rather exciting. Well... until he reached the trees. He only had a moment to think about how something felt, like he was being watched when a dark fell upon him. The roar must've alerted every living creature in the surrounding area but he couldn't find it in himself to care about that now. He knew that voice, that scent.
"Leih!" The leopon cried out happily, tilting his head to look at his sister around the menacing paw that had been aimed at his face just a few seconds before.

At the serval's warning, Najwa creeped up to the edge to peer out. There was indeed a group approaching. She tested the breeze to see what it was she faced. A big group of lions was probably beyond her ability to handle alone. But the scents that reached her seemed striking familiar. Which was strange. There was the scent of a lion, a leopard, and a mixture. She watched as they got closer. They were dark pelted as they were hard even for her to see in the dark.
Despite that she had a job to do. With a rustle of foliage she moved into better position and let out a low growl. "Halt! Be aware you about to trespass. Turn back now!" She hoped she could bluff them or otherwise she'd have to go get help from her pride. Miyako rolled her eyes as the hybrid confronted the strangers. It was logical move, but stupid. She moved up beside Najwa to show there was more than just one of them, if they could see her in the dark. The fierce tiny feline added her growl to that of the bigger feline. If fighting started, she wouldn't be able to stand up to much. Her best bet would be to run back and get help before these rogues tore the pride's leader to pieces,

She had been so tired that she had been alert enough to their situation. However as soon as her mate had said he had seen something Kaveri's entire demeanor had changed. Now she was looking to see if whatever it was was close. Then she heard a roar. Was it her imagination or did it almost sound familiar to her. That was highly improbable, it didn't make her drop the way she moved however. But as she heard another voice she knew she recognized it.
"Uzi..." Doubling back to her mate, "Doesn't that sound like... one of ours?"
This time she spoke up loud enough for the other to hear her. "Turn back? We mean no trespass. My mate Uzi and I were only meaning to pass through these parts to gain some reprieve from the sun when it came up." She swore this was one of her cubs and if so they would recognize the nickname she gave to their father. "We aren't looking for a fight. Let us pass and there will be no trouble."---- By now the female was hopping on her paws. Excitement was easy to read from the dark female who hadn't seen her brother for so many years. Although the back of her mind told her to be alert especially after her roar, the voice was snuffed out by her inner cub.
"Oh my gosh Tachi. I have missed you." And then she got up close and put her paws around the other, nearly knocking them both to the ground. "I was not expecting you here. How did you find me? Have you been tracking me or something?" Now she felt rusty if he had been tracking her so well. Her father would probably scold her if he could see her now.
How lazy she had become in her wanderings.Mogami Most amazing family RP EVA.

Gebhuza didn’t say anything at first. There was a familiar voice ahead and a just as familiar roar somewhere on their left. And was his nose playing tricks on him? He could swear they were being surrounded by feline scents, different but still so very familiar. Deeply ingrained instincts rebelled against the idea of possibly being surrounded but the father couldn’t deny the sudden hope that he might be close to some of his children.
“One ahead.” He said under his breath, not sensing the smaller feline just yet or perhaps dismissing him entirely. “Two to the left. The scents are…familiar.” He didn’t confirm her suspicions aloud but he did say his names and waited for signs of recognition.
“Gebhuza and Kaveri wish to pass through.”
---
Tachi returned the feline hug, holding his sister back tightly. It was hard to believe she was there, right in front of him and not just a dream brought on by wishful thinking. He took a deep breath, taking in his sister’s scent – different but still similar to what he remembered – and smiled.
“I missed you, too.” Tachi chuckled, wondering briefly if Leih was with any other of his sisters. “I was tracking… someone. I didn’t think it was you…”
The blue leopon stilled, red eyes narrowing with practiced wariness. He could hear roars and quiet voices now, much too close to their location.
“Something’s going on over there.” At that moment, hope overturned caution. “Should we check?”

Her pelt prickled with the anticipated confrontation. Despite that she had to grin at the faithful serval at her side. Nothing could sway Miyako! She'd already anticipated Miyako's plan to run for help if they got attacked. Now that they were closer she could tell there was two directly ahead of her and another pair, to the side. Maybe more? Still she had to protect her fledgling pride! Najwa wondered if they'd still come together even if she died. Somehow, she doubted it.
Najwa startled as a female spoke up. It sounded innocent enough, and the voice familiar. Surely it couldn't be, yet she held some doubt. The chances slim, but what if? The name she identified for her mate also sounded familiar, but Najwa could bet there were plenty of males with that name. "Why should I let you pass? This is my pride's territory. There will be trouble if you enter." Should she send Miyako now? The hybrid issued another warning growl.
A chill went down her spine as the male spoke. Those names! She recognized those names. Najwa frowned as she tried to figure out why the female used a different name. Could it be? Now that they were so close and standing still, the scents were stronger. They brought back memories of her cubhood. The hybrid suddenly decided to take a gamble. If she was right.....
"M-mother? Father?" Hesitantly the flamed marked hybrid stepped out of the shadows and into the slowly brightening area.
Miyako flicked her highly sensitive ears when she heard the female mumbling. What was she saying? The serval lashed her tail in anger at being unable to hear.It could be some vital information. Were they planning to attack or turn back? The female voice said they wanted to pass through peacefully. She glanced at Najwa. Obviously the hybrid had suddenly decided to become ornery. Miyako wanted to sigh. What would be the harm of letting them simply pass? The ninjas could easily keep a safe watch on them from afar and encourage them to leave if they tried to dally. The leader didn't need to risk her life over this! The serval felt her jaw drop. What was that crazy cat doing?! "Najwa! Get back here!" She hissed, maybe a bit more loudly than she'd intended to.

Familiar was right as Najwa stepped forward and instantly everything clicked together for the female. Her daughter was standing before her not as an illusion or a trick upon her sense. There was the real thing. She broke into a run, oblivious to anything but her cub as she went to nuzzle and lick Najwa, babying her as she did when she was small. Her heart almost broke at seeing her so regal looking.
"Oh Najwa." Lightly cooing at her. She had completely disregarded Uzi for a moment before she stopped smothering the other. "You said two other scents Uzi? Do you think... more of our cubs are here?" What would the chance of that be? Now she asked both of them, "Shall we go check out these new scents?"
That's when she noticed an unfamiliar scent, the companion. "And who might this one be?" Looking over in the direction of Miyako.---- Stopping her play with Tachi the female sniffed the air. There were other scents that were familiar and one that was not. "I think we should." As she began her slow movements towards where Gebhuza, Kaveri, Miyako, and Najwa were. At least she'd have back up if this were some sort of trick on her brain, not that she thought she might need her brother to defend her.

Gebhuza couldn’t really help it, he started laughing. Najwa stood before them, tall and strong, just the way he hoped all his children were – well, she had looked rather dignified until Kaveri had gotten her paws on their daughter. And she was part of a pride, apparently. She was not alone. It put his mind at ease to see one of his children so well adjusted to the world, standing on their own paws.
“It is good to see you, Najwa.” He greeted warmly though for a tiny moment he had almost called out for another daughter and he was glad his mate had taken the initiative. The scents in the area were really confusing him. His eyes lingered briefly on the smaller feline, wondering if his daughter would’ve been part of the Serval Clan had their former pride not disbanded but then he turned his head to the side, eyes widening at the familiar sight. “Kav… that’s… Leih. And Tachi.” ---
Tachi immediately moved to his sister’s flank, shadowing her movements.
“Got your back.” He said quietly though he was feeling hopeful that the day wouldn’t begin with a confrontation. It would be too much to hope, perhaps, but the blue leopon was willing to believe that maybe Leih wasn’t the only family member he’d be seeing today. Of course, nothing could’ve prepared him the extent of the abrupt family reunion and he couldn’t really keep the surprise out of his voice as his eyes found a mirrored pair of red eyes and then travelled to the other familiar faces.
“Father? Mother? Najwa?!”

Najwa had never expected to see her parents again, although she missed them deeply. This reunion was both unexpected and joyous. From Miyako's view she probably was crazy. Not that that was going to stop her now. She didn't have to move though as her mother came running up to her. It was a bit awkward and embarrassing, but Najwa butted her head against the leopard's shoulder. She was glad none of her pride was here to see this!
The female flicked her ears as her mother mentioned more of her siblings. "I haven't see any of them close to our borders." Not to say they weren't out there obviously. She grinned and flicked her tail to bring Miyako up. "This is my friend Miyako. She's been with me through a lot." Gebhuza's words made her chest puff out a little as she tried to regain the dignity lost as only a mother to her cub could do. "I'm very happy to see you well father." How could she ever tell him, that he'd been the inspiration behind her pride?
She turned her head as her father mentioned a couple of her siblings names. Sure enough the pair was approaching. Najwa hoped their mother had saved some affection for them too! "Leih! Tachi! What are you doing here?"
Miyako could deny that this group as very familiar to each other. Graciously she stepped up when the leopardess noted her. "Hello and nice to meet you all. Welcome to the Isoba'Velius borders." She dipped her head to the leopardess and lion. Then everything got down right crazy! A couple more hybrids appeared from the gloom. The serval sat down abruptly as she eyed the family unit. Were they about to be over run by that clan?

Most of her cubs in one place brought tears to her eyes as she couldn't hold it in any longer. Najwa, Leih, and Tachi. She wondered curiously where he other two cubs may be but at least they had most of them here. On top of that Najwa had a pride. She was a hybrid so maybe Uzi and her could join with her, if that was she was ok with it. Sniffling the female looked up to see Leih'Lana and Tachi there. "Leih." She moved to the dark female, butting her head gently against the other, "Tachi." Going to him and doing the same. "My beautiful cubs."
Then she turned back to Najwa. "You said you had a pride? Uzi and I are looking for a home." Then she looked at the serval. "It it nice to meet you. You must be terribly confused right now." She wondered how long the small familiar had been around her cub, she didn't remember the little one from when her cubs were with her.---- The dark female was just as surprised by this as anyone else but it was a nice surprise. Her father, mother, brother, and sister all in one place. It was surreal. "I feel like I am dreaming." She responded as he mother nudged her head. How she wanted to embrace her now but let her get on with her round between all of her long lost cubs. It was the small serval that she noticed after, giving the familiar a small nod of acknowledgement.
"I was just looking for the trees to run in. I nearly took off Tachi's face when I got the drop on him. Smelled something familiar and we came and found you all." The name of the pride sounded interesting. "Isoba'Velius hmm. I swear I heard you say, your pride."

Gebhuza grinned widely, eyes moving between each of his cubs. Three out of five, all looking well, healthy and strong. He waited patiently until their mother had made her best attempt at suffocating poor Najwa and proceeded to greet the other two. Only then did the dark lion slowly move between them and leaned his head forward to touch his cubs’ cheeks with his own. He couldn’t help thinking there were two missing but he hoped they were doing as well as the ones before him.
He dropped his eyes to the familiar, the introduction further cementing the notion that the little feline was a true companion to Najwa and Gebhuza nodded formally in her direction.
“Gebhuza, Najwa’s father.” He told Miyako with obvious pride. “It’s my pleasure. Isoba'Velius…” He exchanged a look with Kaveri. If their daughter had joined, then surely it was a good pride. And it obviously accepted hybrids. The added bonus of actually being with one of his children – perhaps even three if he was reading the other two correctly - only helped their decision. “Must we face any trials in order to join?”
---
Tachi wanted to grumble but he missed his mother’s ministrations far too much to show any proper objection at being in her care so he narrowed his eyes contently when she head butted him in greeting. He had barely directed a nod at the small feline when his ear dropped quickly at his sister’s words.
“You didn’t get the drop on me!” He said indignantly not because it wasn’t true but come on, Leih! Their parents were listening and they hadn’t seen each other in ages! “I might’ve been a little distracted…” he finally admitted, sending his father a somewhat apologetic look. “A pride, huh…? It’s been a while… would you mind if we joined? Should we go meet the pride leader?”

Najwa cast an ironic glance at her siblings. Of course she'd bare the brunt of their mother's affections as she was first seen, and they only get head bumps. Ugh! All was fair in family. To help even things out, the dark hybrid brushed up affectionately against her sibs. Nothing like a little sibling rivalry to get things going. She followed it up by greeting her father properly. "Hey dad. It's so good to see you and mother well."
"I'd be happy to show you around." She glanced around awkwardly after her sister got to the point. Might as well drop the bomb now. "Um well yeah. I'm kinda.... like the leader." This was embarrassing too, but in a good way. Najwa hoped her parents, and even her siblings would be proud of her. She'd set a dream and achieved it.
She shook her head eagerly at her father's question. "Nope! Just say you wanna join." Her eyes brightened with hope of actually having her family together with her again forever. A broad grin broke across her muzzle as her brother also expressed interest in joining. "I think your ok to pass. As you've met her already." Najwa flourished a little bow to her brother.
Miyako sat there as the greetings went around watching an ear. When the leopard spoke to her again she wrinkled her nose and gave a laugh. "I kinda figured it out. I'm happy Najwa's found her family." The dark family was rather interesting to look at. The serval scoffed at her friend. "Kinda? Only 'kinda' like the one who brought this all together." She knew how this had started after all. Her face turned toward the others as she related the story. "We met some other servals, and that got her to thinking. She went around asking anyone she found awake at night to join up with her little band. It's come quite a ways now." Miyako purred with pride.
