Our story begins here....
The crashed wreckage once known as the Justice League's Watchtower is barely standing. For 2 Years, the monstrosity that is Darkseid has been invading the planet Earth. Darkseid and forces are winning but doing it very very slowly. Due to the interference of the many heroes of Earth as they all try their hand at stopping him. And one by one- they all fall before him. In the sky above something is seen heading straight for earth as it turns out to be the Watchtower's remains crashing into the Central Park of Metropolis. Metropolis is the last bastion on Earth. Superman was able to hold off the initial attack as he had not been weakened too badly just yet. But over the course of the two years, he has succumbed to it more and more and now Darkseid is going to attack Metropolis.
The outside perimeter is set ablaze and the sky begins to color clouded and dark. Hope is nothing but a feint memory now. The remaining heroes prepare to go off of one brave last stand as Darkseid himself has come to put the final nails in the coffin for them. Everyone except for Flash. Who is going to remain behind with Batman. The both of them discuss the final plan to go back in time, which only they themselves know about. Meanwhile during the last stand for earth's heroes, Darkseid manages to kill every single hero that comes at him, and at last, it's down to him and Metropolis' Champion.
The weak Superman and Darkseid do battle for the last time. And as dust and debris settles...Superman is killed. Meanwhile back with Batman and Flash, the Parademons are closing in on the Watchtower where Batman does his best to hold them off long enough so The Flash can fix all of this. And just as the Parademons are finished killing off Batman, they are about to close in on The Flash before a light flashes and he's gone into the speedforce going back into time.
