The day of the great cat play-date with Autumn and her cat had arrived, and Nazriya came prepared; she'd brought gifts for both of the hostesses and walked to her destination with Fiene in her cat carrier backpack. It'd been a nice stroll, Fiene commenting every so often on the scenery in her usual manner and making more than a few people double-take when they saw her. Now they were here however and after a moment to take a deep breath, the young woman knocked confidently on the door.

With the knock on the door, Autumn opened it and offered her new friend a smile.
"Hey there, Naz!" She greeted cheerily, holding the door open for her to come inside. Pretty exciting, this relative stranger was basically the first friend (sans Jeremiah, but he didn't count) to come over to the new apartment.
From the sofa, Rosalinde perked out from amongst her nest of flowers and gave a meow of greeting. Of course she'd had to comfort the cat with the promise of her own place on the sofa to move into a new apartment. With Mogget, had been part of Rosalinde's complaint, but she'd get over it. Cheeky little s**t.
"Can I make you tea or anything? Please, make yourself at home!"

"Hey!" Nazriya returned with a soft grin, moving past Autumn to enter the flat. It was a nice place, lovely furnishings and a good kitchen / living room layout from what she could see. "This is much nicer than my aunt's spare bedroom, I've gotta say," she laughed lightly, unstrapping her backpack to gently set it and Fiene down on the floor. The cat meowed a greeting in return to Rosalinde, making little circles in her soft cage to try and see the other cat better. "Yeah sure, tea would be nice, thank you!" Kneeling down next to the cat carrier backpack, Naz looked at Autumn questioningly; "do you think your ca--" Baffled, she'd snapped her mouth closed in the middle of a word, having finally looked at Rosalinde. "Is she- is that flowers growing on the couch?" No, there was no way; surely there must've been a little bed of dirt underneath the turkish angora or something. Surely. Something. This wasn't bizarroland, it was regular town Ashdown.

"Thanks! You should feel special. Only the Chief has been here before you, but since we have like, regular dish dates, he's not important. And Zac, but he lives here." Why were all of her friends dudes? Weird dudes, at that. Christ, she REALLY hoped this thing with Naz worked. Autumn needed gal pals desperately. (She still wasn't quite sure where to qualify Alexis, but without their permission, she wasn't about to try. Alexis was just... Alexis. They were beyond classification, anyway.)
Her eyebrows raised at the sudden drop-off in conversation, and Autumn looked over to her shitlord cat and sighed.
"Yeah. I thought, oh hey. New furniture. Maybe my cat WON'T be a d**k and take over a chunk of it. Joke's on me for expecting better of her." In response, Rosalinde stretched up, hopped from her perch, and waltzed over to where Nazriya was standing. With a purr, she rubbed around the stranger's legs, sprouting daisies from the strings of her shoes. Autumn pulled a face.
"Ugh, ignore her. She's just trying to show off." Autumn looked up and smiled a bit. "How are you?"

"I'm good," was the absentminded reply of the woman whose brain was attempting to deal with the information in front on her. On her, now that her shoes had spouted daisies and wow, how was that even-- " Cat," a frantic hand gesture to Rosalinde and panicked eyes to Autumn went a long way to illustrate her bafflement here. "Cat, flowers, my shoes-" there was a sound as though all the air went out of Nazriya in one go- " what the hell?" In her cage Fiene was making equally baffled noises as to why she hadn't been let out yet and why was her human looking so frazzled?

"Wha- oh, Rosalinde!" Autumn snapped, coming back into the living room with an evident scowl on her features. "She's not adjusted yet, you little s**t!"
In response, the aforementioned cat purred in delight, sauntering away from their guest in what could only be described as mockingly. She leapt back onto the flower-adorned sofa cushion, and purringly spawned more daisies, clearly not giving two shits about a word Autumn said. Autumn narrowed her eyes disdainfully, lips pursed. But... not the big issue. She could get onto Rosalinde later. Taking the cat carrier as gently from Nazriya as possible, Autumn set it down and gave the other girl a worried look.
"Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Don't freak out on me. Go take a seat, I'll getcha some water, and I can explain." Kind of. She could kind of explain, anyway. Autumn shot her a sheepish smile, not moving away until she knew Nazriya wasn't going to pass out.
Right. Not everyone was used to magic.

"Okay..." Following Autumn's advice because it was damn good advice, Naz took a deep breath, hand on her stomach and trying to center her mind as much as possible. So what if her new friend had a cute cat that could spawn flowers? Hell, she was sure there were weirder things in the world than that. Like Autumn's horns which she'd... kind of thought were fake, until it just now occurred to her that they might very well not be. Because she wasn't that stupid and there was very obviously something supernatural going on here. Taking a seat on the couch next to Rosalinde, she automatically reached out a hand for the kitty to sniff, mind still not quite connected. "Wait, Fiene - should I wait a bit on letting her out? Give your kitty time to examine her in the cat carrier?" Probably questions that should have been asked before sitting down, but oh well. Moonstone Dazzle BETTER LATE THAN NEVER <33

"Don't worry, Rosalinde isn't a fighter. The only thing she hunts are butterflies- says they're too pretty and aren't fair competition," Autumn joked from the kitchen, fetching Naz the previously discussed water. Quickly, she returned to the living room and handed the glass off to the other girl, with a sympathetic smile.
"You uh, read Harry Potter? This is you're 'You're a wizard, Harry' moment. Except I'm cuter than Hagrid and there's no kick-a** wizard school. In fact, a lot of it sucks. Buuuuuuut you're magic now?" Short, sweet and to the point. It was a lot easier to start with a book then jump straight into the futility of the cycles, and magic, and how they'd all gotten their s**t kicked living these lives out before. Not wanting to crowd the girl, Autumn went to let the cat out of the carrier.
Or out of the bag. Heh. Humor.
"I can answer any questions you have about it. Not to brag, but I'm kind of balls deep in this s**t." A pause, and then.
"And that's not necessarily a good thing."

"Okay," Naz laughed, and wondered if Autumn could talk to animals too. Which, hearing the other woman's explanation, didn't seem totally farfetched... She let the idea go for now, focusing on the here and now. "Magic. Me?" Just for good order's sake she pointed quizzically at herself, one eyebrow lifted and humour beginning to bubble beneath her confused exterior. "That's - really?" She shook her head with a smile, "no, I don't think so; haven't seen a lick of magic before I came here to be honest. Unless we're talking about your-" a hand gesture- "horns? Yeah, but other than that, zero." After having some time to consider her new, accessible surroundings Fiene finally ventured out of the cat carrier, making little 'mrrp' noises and examining everything. Her human was on the couch, so obviously that was where she wanted to be as well; it took a few detours making her way there, but at last she jumped up into her human's lap with a meow. A searching look at Autumn and then Nazriya continued, "but I believe you're magic. And Rosalinde too, obviously." She put the glass of water down to focus on petting Fiene, the red tabby enthusiastically head-bumping her hands. It didn't matter where they were, human was always good.
