It had been a little while since he had come back to his Wonder, not a terribly long time but still a bit of time had passed. He still wasn't sure how he was going to clear up the trees and other debris that was blocking the river and had thought to possibly take another look so he might get an idea or two to try out. Bringing the water back to his Wonder, or at least the thought of it at the moment, brought a smile to his face and a warmth in his chest knowing it would be a big step in restoring his Wonder a bit.
When he found a quiet spot to transform and teleport safely his plans changed a bit however. The reason for the change was that when he teleported, he was brought just inside of the mansion by a window, giving him the perfect view of the weather going on outside. His eyes widened as he took in the storm that was currently coming down on his Wonder and he moved to grip the window frame as he watched. If it had just been normal rain it would have been less surprising, even if the water had been a different color he wouldn't have really been surprised.
Instead he got to stand there in awe as diamonds of all sizes rained from the sky. Sure he had heard about the possibility when he was researching Saturn after he became a Knight but he hadn't really believed that it could actually rain diamonds. He watched in awe as the gems tumbled from the sky, the light shining through gaps in the clouds making them sparkle as if they were mini shooting stars. Some of the larger ones tended to shatter when they hit the ground just right, or if they hit one of the trees or buildings but that just added to the picture.
With his original goal derailed thanks to the diamond storm he spent the next hour leaning against the window frame watching. About half way through the hour the diamonds were joined by real rain and by the time the hour had passed it was just rain coming down. He could see the way the rain washed the fallen diamonds deeper into the ground, though the larger ones took longer to disappear, which would explain why he had never come across diamonds littering the ground in previous visits. One diamond in particular grabbed his attention, a fairly large one that hadn't shattered when it fell and hadn't sunk into the ground yet as well as having landed not far from the window.
After looking at it for a moment he hopped though the empty window and walked across the muddy ground, uncaring that his boots were getting dirty since the magic always cleaned them. Once he was by the diamond he bent down and picked it up, holding it up a bit so the light would catch and shine through. The diamond itself had just a faint purple tint to it and when the light glinted through it any reflections had that same tinting to it. After looking it over for a few minutes, and incidentally standing in the rain, he looked around at his Wonder one more time then teleported back to Earth, taking the diamond with him.
