It was getting to be about that time. He'd figured that out after the fourth teacher had asked if he knew what he was going to do after graduating. Wasn't that still a few years off, he'd asked? Apparently not enough years off, no, he was urged to prepare now. Finding the right college, the right program, and the right financial aid was apparently a several-year endeavor and Lior was not entirely sure he was prepared for that. He'd be leaving his familiar stomping grounds for an entirely new place, quite possibly without Nimbus there to help.
Could he do that?
Would he do that?
What did he even want to do...?
There were plenty of things he could do, albeit most of them ended in disaster but he probably just had really bad luck, that was all.. The only thing that really seemed to interest him the most was stories - specifically about folklore. Was there much need for that sort of thing in the world? How would he even do that...?
He supposed he'd put the next couple of years to use figuring that question out - but for the time being, he just told the guidance counselor that he'd be aiming for Asterion, probably to major in History or something.... That would do it. Or it would at least buy him some time to figure out if he even wanted to go to college. That seemed like another long term academic commitment that he wasn't sure he wanted to make... He'd spent the last... well, his entire life on Academy grounds in school - why would he want to keep that up just at a different location???
