[Strikers Daughter]

Eclipse, a wolf with cybernetic parts on her body, was with her partner in their hideout. Their planet was once lush and green, now the only places to find any kind of vegetation, was in the planet's conquer's territory. The planet's former inhabitants, which were much like humans, were forced into the desert territory where many dangerous animals lived. Eclipse was just a cub when her owner found her, injured and abused by their enemy. He rescued her from them and took her in. Though the only way she'd survive was for her to undergo a surgery to replace her mangled body parts. Though she was used to the cybernetic parts, she missed being able to feel the grass under her two paws that were now metal. She missed the feeling of a cool spring breeze flowing through her fur.

It had been 2 years since the people of her home world were forced into hiding and everyday living became a struggle for survival. She wanted her friends to be free once more. Those who were not in the rebellion or captured, were killed or locked away as slaves of some kind. Currently, she and her partner were on look out duty. Even when there was no need for them she refused to relax. Though lately, she seemed more tense than ever. She barely slept anymore. Mostly she'd get up, go out of the room, and sit in the look out post until she'd be so exhausted, she'd sleep there. The first time she'd done this, she worried her partner half to death. Making him think she'd been captured or worse. She was now about three years old. Her kind were mostly caught for guard dogs for the planet's ruler who only viewed their people as worms beneath their feet. A low growl escaped Eclipse's throat as she sat there, as she was remembering how she was taken from her mother as soon as she was old enough. She was to be used for breeding as most of the females were. The male's were used as hunters or guards depending on their body build. She was a runt and as a result, she was to be abandoned and killed. Eclipse barely survived her injuries. There were moments when she saw a light but kept away from it as her will to survive was strong.

Nozomi, an escaped test subject from a secret facility beneath the capitol building, had endured countless experiments, each a torture all its own. Beyond anyone's expectations, she survived and recovered from each one, her body becoming nearly indestructible. With a skeletal structure strong as steel, enhanced tissue regeneration, senses, she was able to escape, thanks to all those bio-augmentations. Unable to stay close to the city, Nozomi fled to the desert territories, where she joined the rebel faction.
While on a patrol, she came across a wolf pup with terrible injuries, but instead of leaving it to her fate, Nozomi brought her back. After hours of surgery, the pup was saved and Nozomi looked after her, naming her Eclipse.
Three years would pass, Nozomi and Eclipse formed a close bond, watching over each other, while they were on look out duty. Current day, the two were sitting up in the look out tower, Nozomi listening to radio communications for any sign of a possible attack, but so far, everything was quiet.

Eclipse's super sonic hearing, due to her cybernetics, could pick up sounds from all over the small, off map village they were in. She was sitting on the edge of the look out tower hidden by the sand dunes of the dry desert area the village was in. She could hear all sorts of things, from children playing peacefully, to the adults worried about attacks on the village hidden beneath the surface. Once she cleared her head, Eclipse went over to Nozomi, placing her head on the kitsune's leg to try and at least relax a little bit. It was quiet, and Eclipse, being that she was almost three years old, was in season, so she wasn't feeling too well. Though she refused to take it easy, even if her stomach was cramping some. She was born into this cruel world, but thankfully she had a lot of friends. Mainly though, she wanted a mate. Usually her kind find mates within their second year of life and the two would be together for life. Unfortunately, she was the only free wolf of any kind on this whole planet. Her kind were only used as attack/guard dogs, or breeders based on their build and ferocity. Those who were too weak or too shy, would be left in the desert to die, or were beaten to death. Eclipse was one of the lucky ones to survive. She didn't know if her siblings were alive, or if they were to suffer under the hands of the Triceratons, a ruthless and war-like race that went from planet to planet, conquering them for fun and sport. Those who were captured were either turned into slaves or killed if they were too old or weak.

Everything was quiet for the time being, but that wasn't anyways a good thing, Nozomi hoped that today would be just that. Looking out towards the desert, she didn't see a single thing, at least not that she could see, even with her optical enhancements. Nozomi moved back into the shade, when Eclipse came over to her, placing her head on her leg, she knew the she-wolf was in heat and in pain. "I know girl, can't be feeling too good right now, once we get back, I'll give you something for the pain." Nozomi said softly, gently running her hand down Eclipse's back, trying to comfort her friend.

Eclipse's tail started wagging a bit as she felt Nozomi's hand running through her fur down her back. Eclipse nuzzled her best friend's hand before giving it a small lick. When it came to Nozomi, Eclipse could be somewhat of a big baby. Usually when it was quiet like it was right now, Eclipse would be on guard all day and wouldn't let anyone except for Nozomi. A small groan escaped Eclipse before her ears perked up. She could hear a howl in the distance. She went over to the edge of the tower before she saw something in the distance and started growling. It was another one of her own. A male about Eclipse's age, probably abandoned for something. He looked really skinny, and hurt. Eclipse didn't realize this at the time, but this male was wild, and had lost his pack to the Triceratons, and because he was still young, had yet to find a mate.

Nozomi's ears perked up at the sound of the howl, going to the edge of the tower, she scanned the area where the sound came from, spotting another wolf. It wasn't one of the ones used by the Triceratons, this one looked wild and in trouble, Nozomi grabbed her naginata, then jumped down from the tower. "It's not a threat, Eclipse, come on, it needs help." Nozomi called up to her friend, before taking off at half her capable speed, heading towards the injured animal.

Eclipse came down using the elevator that they had installed for the dogs. She followed after Nozomi before they came to the wolf that was hurt. He was pure white, with one blue eye and one hazel eye. He collapsed from his injuries as Nozomi and Eclipse would get there. He could see them but it was only shadows. He whimpered a pleading whimper knowing he wouldn't make it if he had to go on anymore. Eclipse though, when she came up to Nozomi and the wolf, wasn't too trusting of him. She let out a low growl thinking he was faking and that he was working for the enemy.

"Easy girl, he's not going to hurt us, but we need to get him out of this heat, or else he won't make it." Nozomi told Eclipse. Using her tails to hold her naginata, she placed her hand on the wild wolf's neck, "Hang in there, we're going to get you some help, Eclipse, head back and let Doc know I'm bringing her a new patient." She didn't how injured the wolf was, so she had to be careful picking him up in her arms, before carrying it back to the village.

Eclipse nodded and went to warn Doc of the incoming patient while Nozomi would bring the wolf to them. Once she was able to tell Doc about the wolf that Nozomi was bringing in, she laid down in the waiting room, wanting for Nozomi to get there with the wolf before she would sit next to Nozomi in another chair.

Nozomi showed up a few minutes later, Doc, her real name was Claire, came out to take the injured wolf from her. "He looks bad, yet, he'll make it. It's amazing he made it this far out into the desert, especially with these injuries, I'll take it from here." The female neko took the wolf into the back, treating him for the dehydration, then his injuries. Nozomi sat down in a chair, it would a few hours before Claire finished, so she waited with Eclipse. "You know, once Doc gets him fixed up, we're the ones that are going to have to take care of him."

Eclipse didn't like the idea of them taking care of the wolf, but knew that it couldn't be helped. She gave a sigh as she laid next to Nozomi. When Claire came out from helping the male wolf, she was hesitating on going back to check on him. She had always had trusting issues when it came to anyone outside of their friends, which made it difficult to make friends. She didn't want to keep the male wolf around since she was sure that he was working for the enemy.

Hearing Eclipse sigh, Nozomi giggled and leaned over, placing a small kiss between her ears. "Come on now, I know you don't like the idea of taking care of him, but you have to give him a chance." Seeing Claire walk out with the wolf, Nozomi got up with Eclipse, going over to them. "He's going to be fine, yet his injuries will take some time to heal, there's also more, he's a wild wolf." "A wild wolf? Then that means he's not one of the Triceratons attack dogs, you hear that, Eclipse? This one isn't working for the enemy." Nozomi said down to her. After given care instructions, they were allowed to leave with the wolf, "So, since he's going to be staying with us, what should we name him."

Eclipse have a low growl as the male wolf was put in her favorite place next to their fireplace. She jumped onto the couch, and laid her head down, glaring at the wolf. The Triceratons were tricky aliens. For all she knew, this wolf was just made to look like a wild wolf, which was really rare these days. She was born in the early days of their planet's Conquering. She didn't see much of the base, but what she was aware of was how they treated the dogs and wolves. Most were killed for sport or food, even for their fur for during winter. When the male wolf tried to approach Eclipse, she snarled and tried to bite him. Just because she was in heat, that didn't mean she wanted a mate. She bared her fangs at him as a warning before he came closer, in a submissive way, not wanting her to hate him. She then left the room, with the male wolf laying down in a careful way, next to the couch while Eclipse went to her's and Nozomi's room to rest until the next patrol.

Sharpening the blades of her naginata, Nozomi watched the exchange between Eclipse and the wolf, not surprised by her reaction to him. As Eclipse disappeared into her room, she looked down at him, "Don't take it personal, Eclipse doesn't really trust anyone, especially outsiders. Just give her space, she'll come around eventually, for now, let's give you a name. Let's see now... how about... Shiro?" She asked.

Shiro tilted his head a bit at his new name. He then laid down by the fireplace carefully. He was weak from all he'd gone through, but what he wanted, was the company of Eclipse. He liked her, but didn't want to force her to feel the same. Meanwhile Eclipse was pouting in their room, laying on her bed underneath her favorite blanket she'd had since she was a baby when Nozomi found her and nursed her back to health. She hated Shiro, wanting him to go away and even thinking she wanted him to die.
