Newgrange was smart enough to know to be intimidated by the Negaverse—especially after what had happened with Whisler. While the Knight had decided to stay with the side of Order, Newgrange had no idea what trouble Whisler had gotten into. Who he had spoken to, who was still looking for him.
Who knew Newgrange's name.
Newgrange knew, though, that despite how dangerous the Negaverse was, he still had a duty to protect people as best he could.
He was patrolling the park—warily, now that he sensed an energy signature of something dark and chaotic. He could tell they were close, but he couldn’t tell how close—or where. He walked through the park, on edge, wondering if it was better to stand his ground and be prepared for when they arrived—or leave as quickly as he could to avoid confrontation.
Newgrange might have been one to worry, but he wasn't one to run. If he could help it.

Adonis tugged his gloves up as he landed upon a street in the middle of... well, he wasn't sure. A park, it looked like. Of course. He rolled his eyes at his own self and just wandered down one of the pathways that was spotted with dim, flickering lighting. He glanced up as he passed under the first light, noticing the moths and insects swarming, hoping to get comfortable, or find a meal under the heat and light of the bulb. Too bad they were stupid.
Much like he felt. He doubted he'd find anything here.
Just as he thought that, he felt an energy coming closer to him. The corrupt senshi of skin walked a little faster, trying to find whoever it was that was here.
"I know you feel me," Adonis said in a low voice. "Someone with your signature can't ignore mine." He knew his own was chaotic and if this Order person could smell his aura, like some could, they would notice his stunk like rotten flesh. Adonis got hung up on that fact. It made his skin crawl just thinking he stank. He couldn't wash that scent off either.
Mind back on the here and now, Adonis kept looking around. "Come out, kitten."
All plans of eluding the situation escaped Newgrang's mind when he heard the voice. It wasn't so close that it was right on top of him, but it was close enough to make him realize he didn't really have much of an option.
He was going to run into this Corrupted Senshi one way or the other—and he'd rather face them head on then get hit in the back.
He curled his hands into fists and drew himself taller before he turned towards the energy signature.
"I'm here," he called, sounding confident and comfortable, even if he was plagued with constant doubts.
"What do you want?"
He saw movement, not so far away, and kept his eyes trained to it; he suspected that the shifting shadow was the energy he was sensing.

Adonis emerged after the other had. Pale eyes lingered on the knight's figure and the judging process started. Yes, the other had asked him a question, but the senshi of skin didn't want to eve bother with answering it. He wanted what everyone wanted; the senshi out of the way for them to do what they did. He worked his jaw a little and tugged his gloves higher up on his arms before smirking.
"You dead."
Dead was the only guarentee. He couldn't corrupt the other. In order to do his mission, he was going to have to put an end to senshi.
Or.. something to that standard.
With that, the blond senshi rushed the other, gloved hand swinging a leather clad fist. Even with a skirt such as his, he didn't seem to be hindered by movement or the weight of t.
Newgrange leapt back as quickly as he could, but he hadn't been anticipating the attack and was caught off guard. Even with his quick action, the fist still managed to graze him in the shoulder. The pain wasn't unbearable but it wasn't pleasant—and wasn't something he wanted to repeat.
"—Excuse me?" he asked, stumbling over the words almost as much as he was stumbling over his own feet. "I think you've got the wrong guy, you might want to back off. I don't want to fight." He drew up his fists as if he intended to defend himself, but he didn't make any effort to attack—yet. He still didn't quite know what was going on and wanted to think this was all some terrible misunderstanding…
But his hands had already clenched and he was already trying to figure out where he was going to hit the Corrupted Senshi if he didn't stop the attack.

It was all the more reason to attack. A soldier who didn't want to fight was no good in a life or death war. Adonis clenched his fist a bit and let out a growl as the other seemed to get into a defensive stance.
At least he took the first attack like a man. He didn't scream or anything.
"Be a man and fight me. You're a soldier!" He rushed at the other again, jumping in the air in front of him, trying to bring a boot clad heel down on the very top of the knight's head. Who said playing fair was his thing?
Newgrange bristled and moved at nearly the last second. He could take a beating, but it was really hard to explain a beating to the face when you worked in a bakery.
"I don't see what being a man's got to do with anything," he said quickly, but he couldn’t really argue the rest. He was a soldier. He should fight. Even if he didn't want to, he was being attacked by someone who was just going to go out and hurt someone else if he didn't.
So Newgrange shoved his fist as far as he could into the senshi's side as soon as he was close enough, and proceeded to move away as fast as he could to avoid a return attack. He never offered his back to the senshi, instead opting to keep his eyes on him at all times.

Adonis said nothing more to the other's words. He narrowed his pale eyes, pursed his lips and took the punch to the side. The air felt pulled from his lungs in a rough go and he collapsed to his knees.
"s**t," he gasped, sitting for a split second before he scrambled to his feet and jumped back.
With determination, Adonis sprang forward again and called out his magic at the same time his hands brushed across his chest. "Skinned Alive." He was searching out the Order's eyes, not blinking.
Kyuseisha no Hikari
Executed in the same manner as his basic attack, Adonis casts Skinned Alive by brushing his hands across any part of his uniform, which melts away for the duration of the attack. The change is mimicked in his targeted opponent, who he must make eye contact with, and they feel the effects of their skin being removed from their body. The affected area appears bloody, and the opponent suffers extreme pain akin to the name of the attack. It can be interrupted by attacking Adonis before his uniform manifests any changes, preventing him from making eye contact, or by shutting him up somehow before he utters the name of the attack. Once the duration ends, their body goes back to normal (as does his uniform).
Newgrange tried to keep Adonis' eyes out of respect for the battle and to try and anticipate his next move. In this case, it proved to be a bad idea. If he hadn't kept Adonis' eyes, he wouldn't have felt the sudden sharp burning that began over his chest. His breath caught in his throat and for a second his brain stopped working.
Instinctively, his hand went over his chest. He couldn't see what injuries were growing over his chest, but he could feel them.
"What did you do?" he demanded, torn between applying pressure and trying to ignore it. The pain was overwhelming, unlike anything he'd felt before. He sought out Adonis' eyes once more, this time in an effort to read the Senshi.

The smile on Adonis's face went completely twisted and dark. It was a look of pure enjoyment. The corrupt senshi laughed as he listened to the other struggle for breathing. He'd been hoping for a scream.. Maybe next time.
"Senshi of skin, dear. You can't win." The senshi laughed as he launched himself at the knight, swinging a leather clad fist at the other's face. If it didn't connect, Adonis would try to swing one of his long legs out in a hard, fast kick to his side.
Newgrange was uncomfortable, and in pain, but he wasn't going to let himself stay open for more damage; Adonis had already got his hit in, and he didn't want to give him a cheap shot. When the Senshi threw a hit, Newgrange dropped out of the way; he moved into a crouch almost immediately, slamming his fist into the ground as he began to channel his magic.
The earth began to tremble below them; the ground shook and Newgrange was just hoping Adonis' movement would be enough to have thrown him off balance. His skin was still crawling and he didn't know how long the effects were going to last; he had been caught off guard. There probably wasn't any helping this Senshi, and Newgrange wasn't going to fight unless he had to.
Getting out of there was the best option. He continued to channel his magic, staying low and out of the way--waiting, and hoping, that Adonis would be distracted and too shaky on his feet to focus on him while he made a getaway.

When the ground started to shake, the skin senshi was caught off guard and his footing was lost. The blond corrupt toppled to the ground, catching himself on his elbows and grunted and just looked around for that stupid knight.
Newgrange was going to make his getaway and Adonis couldn't do much to stop it. The unexpected earthquake caught him off guard, never having been hear shaking ground like this before.
"Damn it! I'll get you next time!" He tried to get to his feet a few times, and each time it ended up with him on his elbow. Sure it lasted only seconds, but when you were basically stuck it, the effects lasted forever. "You won't get away so easily..." Of course Adonis knew he sounded like a stupid cartoon villain, but what else was he supposed to say?
Newgrange had wasted no time; as soon as he could run, he did. “Sorry, good luck,” he said simply, but truthfully he didn’t mean it. He would have rather never run into this Senshi again, if he could have helped it, but he supposed if anyone was going to, maybe it was better he did instead of some helpless civilian.
Either way, tonight wasn’t a good night to duke it out, and Newgrange was more than eager to leave the Corrupted Senshi to his own devices.
If there was a next time, he’d be ready to deal with him, then.
