- Koi hopped over a fallen tree, his steps expertly taking him past gnarled roots and snagging bushes, until he reached the forest's edge. He'd escaped his teacher's sharp eyes today, and was looking to have a bit of fun before he was caught.
Quote:

- After taking some time away from his twin brother, Moro thought it would be good to stretch his paws and find a little snack.
Quote:

- Koi stilled, dark ears tipped forward when he thought he caught sight of a dark form against the plain. Company wasn't common in the secluded patch of forest that made up his home, and he would've assumed the figure to be one of his parents come to find him if its height hadn't given it away.
With a child's sense of self-preservation, he bounded forward to meet it, crying a greeting as he did so.
Quote:

- His sapphire eyes moved towards what sounded to be someone coming close to his range. His black ears swiveled towards the sound of a greeting. He let out a little howl in greetings as well.
Quote:

- The howl caught him off guard, but he was happy to return the gesture. Throwing his head back, he called, "Helloooooooooooooooo."
He was so eager to impress his new companion that he kept his greeting stretched out as long as possible; unfortunately, it also meant that he had no idea where he was going. His hooves, which had not yet halted in their forward march, caught against a half-buried stone, sending him tumbling towards the dark-furred colt.
Quote:

- Ears swivel forward at the reply as if the other being was howling as well. His tail wagged a short while until the foal ended up tumbling because of the stone. He padded over and sniffed the being's wings. "You alright there?" Moro asked as he looked over the foal to see if he had any cuts or bruises.
Quote:

- "I'm fi—oh!" He looked at the strangely soft feet, inches from his nose, and righted himself slowly. "Are you?" He'd mistaken the paws for cracked hooves.
Quote:

- Tilting his head to the side in confusing before realizing the foal was staring at his paws. "I'm alright. My feet are a bit tired though." He said with a toothy smile and a tail wag. He noticed the foal didn't have paws like he did. "What are those?" He said as he used a paw to point at his hooves.
Quote:

- "Do you want to sit?" Koi asked, instantly plomping himself back down and scooting over for his new friend. If he knew any better, he might have prodded the colt for more information, to better ensure he was hale and healthy. As it was, he'd never suffered an affliction that lasted longer than a few minutes, and he was happy to believe the black colt had little difficulty with his thrice-split hooves, even if they were a little odd.
"These?" he asked, gesturing to the brightly-colored plants near his feet. "Flowers, I think." He gave one an experimental chew, and immediately spat it back out when its floral perfume filled his mouth. "Don't—" he gasped, "don't eat it!"
Quote:

- Noticing the foal get closer towards himself. Moro didn't mind the foal getting close. "A break from walking would be nice. My paws are sore!" He said with a plop as he gave a sigh of relief. He looked down to see there were little flowers along the ground. He stuck his tongue out, "those weren't ready to be eaten yet. You gotta put them in the sun so they are warm!" He said as he had some knowledge of what grew around these parts. "If you're hungry, I can catch you some fish!" He said with a big toothy grin.
Quote:

- "You can hunt already?" Koi looked up at him, awe and a little tinge of jealousy in his eyes. His mother didn't think he was old enough to try, and though Rook attempted to teach him in secret, there was only so much the raven could do. "I'd love to have some!"
Quote:

- A toothy grin and a giggle escaped. "Both my twin and I learned how to hunt! It's really easy!" He said with a smile as he rose to his feet. He trotted to the creek that had fish that was close by. His tail twitch as he used his paw to swipe them out of the water. "It's pretty easy. I can show you sometime! How about another day? My brother is gonna be worried if I don't get home soon." He said after giving Koi his fish. He gave a howl goodbye as he ran off into the woods.
Quote:

- Koi watched, barely able to take his eyes away from the task. He was so dazzled he couldn't find the words, and only nodded dumbly at Moro's offer to teach him. Already, he was looking forward to their next encounter.
"Thank you!" he called to the colt's disappearing back. Taking the fish eagerly in his mouth, he rushed home to show his parents.
