(I'm kind of tired so I'll probably just start. I don't feel like posting a picture this time.)
Thomas stared at the large leather tome in his hands. It looked like something out of a fantasy game or story but was unkempt and the shiny runes and embroadary needed a bit of TLC. He would take it home and restore it, maybe open it to see what was inside then put it up on display.
He returned to his dark and lonely home. It was medium sized and big enough to at least start a family in if he wanted to that was. Stacy, his prior girlfriend, had just broke up with him. Thomas figured she was the one girl he would marry and have kids with. She was a wonderful girl too, loved games, loved to cosplay, was kind and friendly. Yet she fell for another guy and just broke it off.
Yet that was all water under the bridge, it had been half a year since the break-up and Thomas was done crying and sulking about it. He figured it was time to move on again. For now he had more important matters to attend to! Grabbing a spray bottle filled with cleaner, and a rag he sat down on the couch and began to polish the tome in the dim lighting.
It was then he noticed a lock on the book. A lock without a key hole. Trying to open it he found it stuck. Oh well maybe it would just be a fancy decoration after all? The runes on the book looked old and fantasy like. They seemed to glimmer in the light and almost looked alive. In the center of the top cover of the book sat what looked like to be a hand rune surrounded by a circle of other runes.
Out of curiosity he placed the left palm of his hand upon the hand rune and chuckled. "Like this is a real magical tome it's probably just a prop used in a mo--" suddenly the tome felt warm as the small cracks along the surface began to fill with magical energy. Thomas stared at it with shock as the book itself seemed to grow hotter by the minute. It leapt from his lap and began to shake as if something inside of it was trying to escape? Odd.
A loud click burst from the tome as it flew open landing upon the floor with a thud. Thomas gasped and quickly scrambled to look at the pages. The writing was strange, runes and a language he couldn't understand. Yet at his touch the pages magically flipped to a sudden picture of a strange creature with glowing runes underneath it's picture. His heart pounded as a chill ran down his spine. Touching the page a second it rippled like water.
"What...?" strange, perhaps he was dreaming. He ran a finger over the glowing letters and watched at the runes shifted to form letters he could read. "UNDO THE SEAL? what does that mea-Gyahh!" he gasped as the book suddenly burst into magical flames and rose up from the ground.
The incantation spoken it began to spin as sparks of elemental flames began to leap out of the tome. Yet when they landed they formed a magical circle and didn't burn anything upon contact. Runic letters began to encircle the tome as smoke began to fill the room. Thomas coughed and quickly got up to find his fire estinguisher. Grabbing it he sprayed the tome only to find it ineffective!?
Rushing to the windows he opened them up to let the smoke escape. Coughing terribly he failed to notice or hear the tome falling to the ground with a soft thud. The seal had been broken, a secret pact had been created. Thomas was unaware of the strange fate he had just placed upon himself and the creature he had accidentally set free.
