Along the banks of the lake stands a simple, old building that resembles a house. However, this structure is not meant for living, it's meant for cooking. This is Mama Murphey's Barbecue and Fish Fry; serving good, heartwarming comfort food to all patrons visiting Lake L'Engle. Along with the best barbecue the region has to offer, Mama Murphey's offers fried fish gathered from the lake daily. Along with the plethora of meats to choose from, Mama Murphey offers plenty of sides from fries to good old fashioned cole slaw. Wash all of this heartwarming grub down with Mama Murphey's home brewed root beer and red cream soda. If you're not too full from your meal, be sure to grab yourself some home made ice cream in a variety of flavors. Mama Murphey's is a family owned operation with Mama Murphey and her husband, Big Bob as the cooks. Their children, Sam and Holly serve their customers. Trainers can find a make shift lake tank behind the house that allows the family to hold their catch until it's time to cook them. Customers can eat inside, in the small seating area, but Mama Murphey's is set up for people to take their food lakeside. They have picnic tables placed all around.
