Mirewood flicked an ear at the sound and snapped her head around. She hadn't even noticed the brook, but there it was, at the edge of her vision by the trees. She blinked, and then flicked her gaze around to locate Mudskipper, only to notice he'd already flown off after whatever bugs tantalized his appetite. She sighed, and rose to her feet, hesitantly, feeling strange without him.
She slipped behind a tree, her tail loudly brushing grass as she did so, and peered carefully at the strange doe who'd seemed to have magically appeared. She squinted a bit to see her better in the shade, but the sunlight glinted off her beautiful white fur and brought her out from the shaded trees almost perfectly. She blinked a few times, and then showed herself.
"Oh, hello there," she said awkwardly, not even sure if where she was looking was into the doe's eyes from this far.
"Awful hot today, huh?" She joked, smiling shyly.
