Character Name: Eevanes
Age: Young Adult
Race: Poshum/Papin Half-breed
Gender: Female

Appearance

Due to her rather unique breeding, Nes manages to combine qualities of both Poshum and Papin in her features. Her skin is almost a milky white hue which greatly contrasts against the dark pitch of hair that cascades far past her shoulders to her lower back. Not to be confused with Snow white, the half-breed is crowned with a pair of curling rams horns that rise up low before curling around the tufted white feathers of her Papin heritage and are complimented by a pair of seafoam blue-green eyes that regard the world with curiosity. Nes is rather quite short, finding herself reaching no more than five foot three with an almost seemingly frail thin frame.

Abilities & Weaknesses
Being half Poshum and half Papin, Nes finds herself in a rather unique position. Though she is capable of both healing and earth magic, her ability in both seems to be slightly weaker. She has, however, learned that the power of her voice can oftentimes be used to amplify what powers she does have into a much larger effect. (For instance, what normally would be a simple pebble shower can be amplified into a subtle rockslide or small shaking of the earth when accompanied with song of the proper tempo and tone.) The nature of the song sung seems to have a strange effect that actually creates the amplification, therefore a heavy, dark tune whilst attempting a healing can quite likely cause a very opposite effect (often resulting in a drain on Nes herself, and leaving her either weakened or sick from the attempt).

This being said, her weak skill in either magic exclusively causes her a great disadvantage as well. If rendered mute, she would be unable to cast stronger magics to aid or defend herself.

Personality
Eevanes is strangely nostalgiac. Quite often she seems more inclined to venture out into the wilderness, Egrathorn at her side, rather than to delve into everyday chorework. She is, however, also instilled with a sense of duty and pride. Once committed to a task, she would be ill-pressed to leave it until it is complete, though she is prone to the occassional bout of carefree escapism that is her Papin blood. Never one to settle in one place, despite the stern upbringing of her mother, she yearns for freedom and open fields (or open wilderness, whichever happens to be closer). However, she will never be seen without Egrathorn near at hand. Compassionate to a fault, Nes is both doggedly loyal and venomously protective of those she claims friendships with.

She is also quite jovial and playful, though often this is seen mostly with Egrathorn. Almost like siblings, the pair are often known to run off on tangents together, or be witnessed bickering, fighting, playing, or otherwise enjoying each others company (or hating it, depending on the situation), though more often than not the two agree on most things.

Back Story/Character History

Eevanes was set apart from the moment she was conceived. Her father, a passing messenger caught in a heavy storm, was a Papin who took refuge in the Poshum widow's home to stay the weather. By the time the rains lifted, the widow was with child. Her father continued his journey, however, and would not find out about the child until some few years later. Eevanes was born bearing the distinct markings of the Papin which only served to endear her further to the Poshum who had once feared she would never bear children. Eevanes had no brothers or sisters, and though there were many children in the village, she was often found playing alone. That is until her fifth birthday.

Having learned of her existance, the messenger returned to the village on occassion to watch the progression of his daughter's growth through the years. Upon her fifth birthday he came bearing a gift, a small scroll (created for Nes and given to him by Khalindra that he, in turn, bestowed to his daughter with Khali's blessing), and took to speaking with her mother. It was decided, from there, that Eevanes would spend her life jumping between homes and learning the meaning of her different heritages. Even at such a young age she was aware of her distinction from other Poshum, and the overwhelming desire to be free had already begun to burn within her. The chance to lead a life beyond the small village, even then, had brought such a reaction that left her parents beaming with pride.

Shortly after, the scroll bore to her evolved into the young male Astral that would eventually become Eevanes only true friend. As the years went by, Nes migrated between homes, learning the distinct cultures of her lineage and discovering her rather unique mix of abilities. Egrathorn, ever at her side, grew with the child into adulthood and remained at her side. Nes learned various snippits of skills that could be of use to her, taking up leatherworking, sewing, herbalism, and medicine. Beyond this, she learned small snippits of other skills, but she never focused on anything so fully as to turn it into a profession. Instead, she would learn minimal knowledge before escaping into the wilderness where she would often be found practicing magicks or singing; though more often than not it would likely be the latter rather than the former.

As she matured, it was harder to keep the girl tied down. Escaping into the wilds with Egrathorn, Nes would often go missing for hours on end rather than attending her lessons. It was, as her father explained, simply her nature. She would be scolded, of course, however it became apparent that nothing could tie the girl where she didn't want to be; the lure of freedom was simply too much for her to ignore, and the Papin at least understood this desire. When she approached her mother and father with her decision to journey the world, it was with apprehension and tolerance that they listened. Eevenes' mother, not quite willing to let her go, was comforted by her father who simply explained they had no choice. She would, he told the Poshum, merely slip away whilst no one was looking, and that it would be better to let her go freely than attempt to keep her tied down. With reluctance her mother agreed and, with Egrathorn close behind, Eevanes waved her farewells to her parents and set out for adventure.

Soon, she would find Sero on the horizon.
