Rasiel had recently caved in and set up one of the empty homes in the housing district for himself. It had been fairly empty for a while, only having few effects to himself. The cabin he had let Deskri stay in was too painful to go back to, filled with memories that he wasn't entirely ready to face. Besides, he was still acclimating to be one person again. Having slowly transitioned into not needing the mask anymore, he left it sitting on his desk in the office most days. His outbursts had been few and far between, which made him feel hopeful but also guilty. The only personal things of note in his home were some snowglobes on the mantle of the living room, and he rested a violin on the coffee table as if he had only taken a break from playing it just earlier.
He had discussed and arranged to have a cooking session resulting in dinner with Kreios. Rasiel had even offered to buy all the ingredients and have them shipped there ahead of time, it was in his own way, a means to thank Kreios for essentially being there for him in what seemed like his worst moments over the last few months. He felt more stable when he was around Kreios, though that may have been the sigils he had mentioned before. Either way, he had honestly been looking forward to this and was already setting up the kitchen for the evening. Glancing at the clock, a faint smile growing on his face as he saw that it was fairly close to when he would show up. He had actually ordered double the amount of strawberries as intended. A compensation, if you will, since he was already eating halfway through one of the containers idly.

For a great while, Kreios had thought that Rasiel would not take him up on the idle invitation to create a joint dinner, so when the invitation had been extended, he was pleased to accept. Perhaps this was just one more step in the direction of recovery. Doing normal tasks, normal get-togethers with others that he previously couldn't do before was just one more way to normalize that he was one person with no need to mask himself. The changes had been slow, awkward, but they were happening and that was what mattered.
Despite Rasiel's offer to buy all of the ingredients, he found himself bringing along something to drink... based off of the ingredient list, dinner was likely to be something somewhat fancy, so he'd brought along a bottle of red wine - thinking nothing of it.
He approached the door, shifting the bottle tucked in the crook of one arm, then knocked with a free hand.

Rasiel perked up as a knock rang out over the soft sounds of someone sings over a light violin serenade that played through the stereo on the counter. He turned it down to a very low setting, and moved to exited the kitchen. But not before taking up another strawberry and biting into it and discarding the leaf into the trash as he passed on his way to the door. He opened the door as he smiled faintly at Kreios. "..Welcome, everything is accounted for and ready to go." he announced as he stepped to the side to let the cambion into his home. Rasiel seemed to be in a bit of good spirits today more than usual, as he glided back over toward the kitchen and did a last check of the ingredients and supplies needed for the meal before turning to Kreios and blinked, glancing down to the item in his arm. "What's that?" he asked, curious as he couldn't tell right out what was in his arm from the angel he was standing at. It's not like the possibilities were vast what it could be, but there was options, and he honestly just wanted to know out of his own inquisitive nature.

He nodded a greeting as the door was opened, then stepped inside once space was granted. "Thank you for having me." He looked around, this was his first time in Rasiel's home since coming to the Sanctuary... It seemed that like himself, Rasiel did not decorate very much. That was fine, less to be distracted by... He followed the demon Meta over to the kitchen, noting his chipper mood. Quite the nice change, he seemed to always have a cloud over his head the last few times they'd spoken. Kreios couldn't help but think it must be tiring to be so upset all the time, though he knew Rasiel had plenty reason to be.
The question earned a brief quirk of his brow, then a glance down at the bottle. Ah.... "I thought it might suit the meal." He shifted the bottle out of its position to hold it out for Rasiel to take. "At least, based off of the ingredients you mentioned we were going to use."

Rasiel looked curiously at the bottle and took it in hand as he inspected it. Chardonnay. He blinked a bit. Had he ever had alcohol before? No, he could never recall. He had been too young for such things when he was still attending the Academy, and he never had the time to partake in much anything when in Obscurite's care. Then, even Zaku didn't drink, so that never came up. He nodded then looked to Kreios, "Ahh, okay.." he responded, not really one to question it. He had been fairly intrigued by the idea of it, only hearing about it rather than experiencing it for himself. Kae was always drinking back then, especially on days that stressed her out, so maybe it was a way to relax. A compliment the meal, so the flavor could be paired with food. Well, that would certainly be something he wouldn't turn down. He loved cooking, and if there was more he could learn about it, the better.
He moved to set the wine bottle on the table and was glad there was at least a couple wine glasses in his cupboard even if he never used them. Turning to the ingredients, he looked over where to start first as he had all the components for a classic chicken marsala, parmesan broccoli, and sweet bacon green beans. And if they were so inclined, he also had the ingredients for a no-bake strawberry cheesecake if there was time. He gave a quick faint smile to Kreios. "What do you want to work on? The main dish or the sides? I'll do what you don't take..." he offered, thoughtfully. "Unless you want to do it all at once and just, wing it.." he seemed amused by his own idea even if it seemed a little chaotic in practice. It was mostly meant as a joke rather than an actual option, but he wouldn't deny it if that's what Kreios chose.

Kreios handed it over, watching as Rasiel examined the bottle and then set it aside on the table. "It could also be used for cooking, I suppose, but I do not have much experience with that use." He shrugged just slightly. Admittedly he didn't have much experience drinking the stuff either. He wasn't fond of the fuzzy feeling alcohol brought on after a while, it made thinking difficult and he did not like having a clouded mind. It was for that reason that he constantly wore a Clear Mind talisman.
He looked over the ingredients, then over to Rasiel. "I don't mind preparing the main dish, though if that's something you prefer doing I can do the sides. It doesn't matter much to me." He stepped closer, once more glancing down at the gathered food. The chaos of just doing it all at once was not something he was interested in... too much chance for something to be forgotten, or to be overcooked... or worse, undercooked.

Rasiel nodded, "I suppose it could, though I don't often use it in cooking... Well, the last time I honestly cooked, I was still a teenager, so getting my hands on wine was a littler harder than it would be now..." he answered thoughtfully as he looked from the ingredients to Kreios, a smiling growing on his lips as he answered the question. "Alright, you prepare the main dish, and I will handle the sides." he spoke with some enthusiasm he never seemed to use before, looking like he honestly enjoyed cooking a lot. He passed the recipe card for the main dish to Kreios and pulled up the two he would work with, ready if he needed them. Rolling up the sleeves of his button up shirt and grabbing one of the two aprons on the pantry door to tie it just around his waist, he started in on cutting up broccoli, green beans, and prepared bacon as he seemed to focus on what he was doing so intently, not even bothering to look at the recipe card after his first initial glance. He almost looked like a professional, like he'd done this a lot before, using techniques he had learned over the years of practice when he was younger.

"Yes, that would make it quite difficult to acquire." He nodded in agreement, though grew curious at the statement... He hadn't cooked honestly in that long? It clearly made him happy-- he had yet to see Rasiel this chipper since the first day he officially became a resident of the Sanctuary... and even then, he'd been pretending to be Rhun and was telling terrible puns. Ugh... the thought of the puns earned a barely visible shudder.
"Alright then, leave it to me." Kreios moved into position to prepare the chicken, only sparing a brief glance at the recipe card that Rasiel had provided - mostly to see if his recipe was different from the one he knew himself. It was, just barely, so he noted the small differences and then set to work preparing the chicken. While he was no professional, he certainly knew what he was doing - working without hesitation nor a moment of pause.

Rasiel chuckled lightly at the comment about his difficulty to obtain alcohol at a younger age. He had never honestly thought about the stuff, he had other things to deal with at the time. Thinking on it, he likely wouldn't have even tried to drink alcohol back then in fear that Obscurite would have found that as a chance to come out and hurt those around him. Ha, not like he didn't come out anyway and turn the world again him. He shook the thought from his mind as he focused on the meal. His hand proving quite dexterous as he moved with such a grace in his cooking, a smile on his face the whole time as though he truly did enjoy cooking.
He glanced over the Kreios every now and again without much reason, but ultimately focused on what he was doing himself. After it was done, he reached up to grab serving dishes to put them all in, collecting food into them and setting the table for them to eat. After that was ready, he paused at the wine bottle and looked for a corkscrew, procuring one as he opened the bottle and moved to the table to pour some. 'Well, here goes nothing on that..' he thought, as he untied the apron from his waist then moved to the table, a little excited to eat what they had made.

Kreios assisted with gathering their finished dishes, then moved them over to the table to eat. Satisfied with the display, he almost seemed to smile a little- or at least the corners of his mouth didn't seem to sit as low on his face as usual. "Seems we've made a fine meal." He nodded a silent thank you as Rasiel poured the wine, then chose a seat to settle himself into.
"It has been a while since I had dinner with someone else like this." Kreios commented offhandedly as he picked out a few of the side dishes to scoop onto his plate. "I imagine you haven't done this in a while either?"

Rasiel smiled as he settled into the other chair at the table as he served himself as well. He looked to Kreios and nodded, "I honestly can't remember the last time I had dinner with someone like this... so I imagine it's been a very long time..." he responded softly, surprisingly not bothered by the slightly depressed undertone of the insinuation. He began to eat, his manner still at his core as he paused every once in a while to drink some of the wine. The first time, he blinked with an unsure face before smiling. It wasn't even that bad and it tasted pretty well with the dish.
Once the meal was over, he made sure that Kreios was finished as well before taking up the dishes and placing them in the sink for the moment. His face was starting to get a bit warm even despite the one glass of wine he'd had but it was nothing he couldn't handle. "That was really nice..." he commented then looked over to Kreios. Rasiel realized he hadn't really planned for anything after the dinner, and was now trying to come up with more ideas as he put the dishes in the dishwasher for now. Ha, they could always drink more wine... Okay, let's not be like mother... Then again, she'd have down the whole damn bottle by now, so he figured he was doing pretty good so far.
