When was the last time she went hunting? Why was that even a question? Out here in the wastes and mountains food was scarce, and good game even scarcer. But where there was a will to eat, there would be a will to find food. The gray female had proven that true time and time again. Smaller than most females, Tamesis didn't let that stop her from challenging game and wolf bigger than her. A brutal tactician, hunter, and warrior, she wasn't afraid to do whatever it took to survive - a lesson she was forced to learn at a tender age.

Something that the pups she was hunting for wouldn't learn. Strangely enough for the survivalist attitude of the fae, she had a soft spot for young and old, but not quite the in-between. As she loped over the terrain, she kept all her senses open in hopes of finding some sort of food that would be decent for the growing members of her Alpha's pack, but she attempted to keep herself on the offensive as well. There would be no sense in her going to get herself badly hurt or killed for naught.

She took a quick turn down a slope as the scent of rabbit caught her attention. The creatures were small and often quick, but catching a few would be worth it. Hunting anything bigger would simply waste time and energy, and Tamesis didn't plan on being out in the wastes for long...unless something out here peaks her interest enough. Tamesis was doubtful but stranger things had happened..

"The world is a harsh and unforgiving place."

Reina

Reina slunk through the desolate wastes in hunting mode. It had been too long since her last meal and these lands were not particularly fruitful. Quite ironically she would have to be quite the picky hunter for hunting larger prey alone would just waste energy and likely dangerous.
Crouched low and slinking through the scarce brush in silence, the elegant female was following the scent of rabbit she had picked up on a while ago. Unfortunately she had not located any of the swift little meals on legs yet. But she did not loose her focus.

Her nose flared and she instantly froze as she picked up the scent of another varsythe. Her ears swiveled and she slowly raised her head to try and spot the other, while remaining as inconspicuous as possible. The gears turned in her mind as she pondered ideas of how she could potentially turn an undesired meeting into an advantage to her. Her narrow purple eyes locked onto the grey female as they moved down a slope in her general direction as well as the path of the rabbit scent was leading. It appeared they were both after the same prey. An ever so slight smile came to her muzzle.

So consumed with hunting the smaller, fleet footed lepus, the gray almost didn't notice there was another in the area with her. It was only when she adverted her gaze for a split second that her eyes caught a hint of silver. She stopped immediately lifting her head to catch the full view of the other wolf out here with her. How could she not have caught this one's scent? Giving an inward snarl to herself, she weighed the options in her mind. Hunting alone was always limiting, unless one was confidant or suicidal...both were synonyms to her. Another option was to call her over to an isolated area to discuss hunting terms. It was a gamble, but it wasn't uncommon for wolves to say yes for a joint hunt. It meant more spoils, not necessarily even, but spoils.

Or she could fight. Tamesis could charge this other right now, challenge her for claim and rights...dominate her maybe. Feel fur and blood on her claws and tongue again. How long had it been since she challenged...or was challenged...it really didn't matter. Anger and violence had always seized her, urged her to continue on past the point of breaking. It was all she had left after all. And a good life or death situation always brought that rush to her. She almost let that idea take root and spread, but alas her stomach cramped causing her to flinch. It seems as though there was not enough energy to put forth she fight she desired.

There was always after the hunt...

Giving a grunt, she made direct eye contact with the Female Beta hoping to catch her attention without scaring off anything that might be possible food. Co-hunting it was. Tamesis tilted her head in the direction where she caught the scent last. Maybe along the way they would find something better. It was then that she moved, carefully crouching returning her concentration to the task at hand. She really didn't want to be here all damn night...

Their eyes met and with a silent bob of the head she agreed to the unspoken joint hunt. Her tail swished and she slowly and silently following the scent and the directed gaze of the grey alpha. Moving in align with them to create a better formation for flushing out the prey and providing a more likely chance of success if they stuck from different directions. Her cunning purple eyes observing her 'hunting partner' as much as she was the trail of the prey she was hunting for nourishment.
Her mind playing out the results of possible scenarios for one that would suit her needs and desires best. Though she would need more information on the small scarred female. There was always more than meets the eye, especially when it came to the Vileclaw that had to find any way to survive in these unforgiving wastes with the whole world against you. She knew this herself quite well, there was literally nothing she wouldn't do for her own survival and gain.
A slim smile slid onto her lips as she crouched lower, nostrils flaring as she inhaled the sent of a young buck reached her nose as here eyes caught sight of a pair of dark pelted rabbits. She flicked her tail and looked to her 'partner' as if inquiring which target she wished to take.
