Personality: Malayna is a bit mysterious in nature. She comes from the tribe of natives to Mt. Snicket, a harmonious, spiritual people. She can often be found roaming the island, or relaxing on the beach; rather than taking care of her duties as a gym leader. She loves nature and has a deep respect and love for all living things. She is not reserved at all, and shows how she is feeling at all times. If she is happy, she is smiling and laughing. If she is sad, she is not afraid to weep. If she is angry, run, because she has the fury of a raging volcano.
Personal Skills: Malayna was born and raised on Mt. Snicket; a harsh and unforgiving environment. As such, over the years, she has learned many skills to allow her to thrive in such a place. She can hunt, fish, cultivate crops, climb and hike with minimal effort, and is able to withstand extreme heat very well. She knows all of her tribe's dances and sings their songs at their festivals. She is pretty skilled at making jewellery too.

Biography: Malayna's name comes from her parent's struggle to have children. Meaning, wished for child in their culture, she certainly was their miracle. Born on Mt. Snicket, Malayna was born with copper skin and turquoise eyes. A very rare trait in her tribe. She was always wild and strong ever since she was a child, and none of that changed while she grew up. At the age of fourteen, she went through her tribe's ceremony and became a full-fledged woman. She grew up on the island, learning her family's ways and customs, and became well versed in all of their songs and dances. At the age of sixteen, she was chosen to lead her tribe's annual Sun Dance, and she did spectacularly. Ever since then, she is always the main attraction in their festivals. Malayna seemed to have an affinity with the island's Pokemon, who always seemed to love her. She trained them and became very strong with her teams. At the age of 23, the Pokemon federation came to Mt. Snicket wanting to put a Pokemon gym there. Rather than allow a stranger to hold such a position in her home, she applied for it herself. She couldn't have someone who didn't respect her people or their ways to be an authoritative figure on the island. After a lengthy and challenging audition, they approved her application. She built her gym inside the volcano and runs it to this day.
