Connor had been awake for at least four hours before his phone repeatedly dinged and buzzed from where it sat on his kitchen counter. Getting up from his spot on the couch in his living room, he stretched and strode to the kitchen, snatching it up to read with a blank expression, though confusion quickly flickered through his gaze. What kind of emergency required him to be called in to the bar two hours before they even opened? He couldn't fathom, but he also didn't have anything else going on that morning, and his curiousity was winning out over his hesitation. ------ Roughly twenty minutes later, Connor arrived, and tapped on the entrance with a sharp rap of knuckles, while simultaneously sending out another message. Quote: text to Borr: I'm here, where are you

The sound at the front door could be heard by Borr because he wasn't actually inside. "Round back!" His bellow came from the side alley leading back to the dumpster. Borr was crouched beside the dinged green monstrosity and there was a strange soft noises coming from in front of him on the ground. When the large man turned to look at Connor his eyes seemed to be glistening. Was he crying?

Ah. Ok, then. Stepping back away from the door, Connor made his way around the building towards where Borr's voice bellowed. Around the corner, the large man was spotted in an instant, even though he was squatted down, he still took up a lot of space. Still confused as to what the emergency was, Connor approached, but then slowed to a halt when the large man turned towards him. Was he...crying? And what the hell was that sound? Connor's stomach suddenly sank, as he immediately came to the worst conclusion, that somebody had dumped their ******** baby in a dumpster. "What is it?" He asked, voice slightly hushed, as he braced himself for the inevitable, horrifying news.

Borr turned, eyes wet with tears, and in each hand were (in his hands) tiny rottweiler puppies. "Look," He sounded absolutely helpless and yes they were probably the cutest thing he'd ever seen. "Look." He said again and pushed one into Connor's arms.

"Oh." Oh, jesus ******** christ, is that all?, was more like it, but Connor made a genuine effort not to be an a** towards Borr or anybody Borr associated with. The puppies, while admittedly adorable, were hardly worth an emergency text message, or the openly weeping stare Connor was currently being treated to. "I'm looking." Connor assured him, arms suddenly awkwardly being forced to hold one of the small, wriggly masses, which he just as awkwardly maneuvered into his hands. "I just don't really know what you want me to say." As he looked down at the creature he now held, taking in it's coloring and markings, and realization dawned. "......I didn't know your dog was pregnant." His straight face broke, as it was suddenly impossible not to smile at the pile of much too cute that was wiggeling away in his hands. "Congratulations, grandpa."

"My dog's a boy.." Borr sniffed, holding the puppy he had in his hands to his face and rubbing a cheek against it. "Puppy smell," He sighed. "You've got to keep one. Or find a home for it." Borr didn't exactly ask. Then as an after thought, "Please?"

Oh....right. Well then. "Are you sure?" He asked, innocently enough to be considered a joke, before he shook his head and frowned. "So somebody just ******** dumped them here? That's sick." "What? No! I can't." He looked down at the puppy he was already holding, and suddenly it felt like a bomb that needed to be set back down and walked away from as quickly as possible. He could barely look after himself, with all of his current money problems, how was he supposed to look after a puppy, that would eventually turn into a massive eating machine?

"Dummy's not fixed I mean they could be.." He had always intended on breeding him but his time was taken up with the bar. But the rottweiler never really got out, though he supposed it was possible.. "I don't know I just found them here. Only the two," He sniffed. "I can't take two." The one in his hand wasn't going anywhere, it looked like Borr himself was getting a new dog. "Look at him... or her.. You need each other." Borr looked as puppydog as the puppy dogs.

Ugh. No. Borr was not allowed to look at him that way. Jesus ******** Christ, Connor could not cope with this. But just another glance down to the puppy in his arms, and he could already feel his resolve weakening. "Well...I mean, I guess. Maybe." He was feeling rather helpless, now, and the puppy was squirming upward, straining upwards to attempt to lick at his face, and Connor let out a small laugh that he couldn't hope to suppress. " Christ." He said, "How would I even look after it? I work all the time." Not to mention the whole money thing, which he definitely wasn't going to, because he hated talking about it.

"Everyone works," Borr sniffled, his own puppy licking his salty face now, "Besides I'm keeping this one so you can bring it in here if you want while you're working. But it should learn how to stay home alone." The bar owner clapped a big hand heartily on Connor's back. He was clearly pleased he was taking the dog, "Training. And companionship. I'll help you train it if you want. It's not hard. Dogs are the best." The puppy in his own arms was now pawing towards Connor and it's sibling when Borr got close. The older man let out a stifled high pitched sound at the cuteness.

"Ya, but I work all the time. Two jobs, remember?" Connor pointed out, but considering Borr was actually offering to let him bring the puppy to work with him at the bar, it seemed to be a moot point. He'd only have to leave it alone on the days he was working at the hospital, though that meant getting it kennel trained as soon as possible, while also hoping nobody in the apartment complex he lived in complained about any noise it might make while he was gone. He let out a small noncommittal sound and shrugged his shoulders at Borr's offer of help. "I've had a pet dog before. I do like dogs." As the large man had probably already guessed. "Okay." He finally agreed, just as his puppy managed to strain upwards enough to lick him on the chin, and directly after Borr let out a surprisingly shrill noise for such a gigantic man. "Okay, I'll keep..." Curious, he shifted her to his hands and held the puppy out at arms length. "...Her." Damn, he would have honestly preferred a male. "But if for some reason it doesn't work out, you have to help me find her a new home."

"Aw a little girl-" Borr's bottom lip was popping out as he oggled the pups. Connor seemed full of excuses but he knew how it went. You said you didn't want the dog but then you took it.... and then there was no going back. "Thank you-" Borr clapped him on the shoulder and grinned. He seemed to be done crying for now. "You're a good guy. It'll be fine." HIs own little bundle was petted and it yawned and seemed like this small level of activity had already tired it out. "Let's go make sure they're fed and watered.. don't know how long they've been out here.." And Dummy needed to be interrogated.

Connor was a little distracted, as the expenses of owning a puppy suddenly began adding up in his head. Food, kennel, treats, leash, collar, toys... He gave his head a shake. "Hrm? Oh, ya, sure man. And then I'll just...take her home..." For the remainder of the day, Connor was going to run these moments through his head over and over, as he attempted to figure out just how he'd ended up roped into becoming a sudden pet owner.
