 Wildflour perused the table of homemade goods with narrowed eyes. He had a little purse filled with coins that he would be happy to spend on their school fundraising efforts even if they seemed to have put very little actual effort into their advertising (that poster was horrendous!) or food presentation (that icing was all over the place!). It all depended on one thing... "Excuse me," he called to the person who seemed to be in charge at the moment, "is anything on this table vegan friendly?" Some of it obviously wasn’t but a few of the cookies and jams potentially could be. Unfortunately nothing had any ingredients labelled which was a rookie mistake.

Since it was his sisters who brought in their contributions to the fundraising event, Blade was put in charge of selling to the patrons because as Regality put it "he hadn't helped, not one little bit!" It wasn't hard work, but just dreadfully boring. Flashing his best smile, making change and handing over the goods over and over. Really he had better things to do then this. He sort of knew Wildflour in the way that one knows a classmate that you never talked too but could pick out in a crowd. In other words, not very well. It was a great effort to not roll his eyes at his question. How was HE supposed to know if anything was vegan? Wait...what the hell even was vegan?? "Sorry...vegan?" he asked.

"I’m going to take that as a no," he responded with as much disdain as possible. Someone had clearly not been paying attention to last month's project when he’d spent ten minutes in front of the class explaining why being vegan was just better. There had even been a slideshow! He should have walked away right then but Wildflour had never been one to walk away from an opportunity to educate one of his dumber classmates. "Simply put, being vegan is a way of life in which you abstain from all animal products. We will not consume meat, eggs or dairy." He waved a hoof at the table. "Does any of this not include any of that?"

Blade's ears flattened a bit. Oh right...that. Vaguely he could recall such a presentation but he'd gone from rehearsing the new move he'd been taught the afternoon before in his mind to staring at a pretty filly to admiring a cute colt rather then paying attention to the droning on Wildflower had been doing. "Hmph..." he scanned the items on the table. How was he supposed to know? Surely there was no meat in any of the baked goods and jams. Eggs and milk though.... "Here." Blade set a bag of golden flower cookies with bright jam centers in front of him. "This has no meat for sure and the middle bit is fruit jam and the flower bit is all dry ingredients and..." Milk probably. "Water. Is that vegan enough for you?" His tone was a bit snippish.

Wildflour stared dubiously at the golden flower cookies that were placed in front of him. "Well, of course it doesn’t have meat," he grumbled, because obviously, it was the milk and eggs that were the problem. "You’re certain?" He lifted the purse, counted out the exact amount of coin and put them on the table. "This is important to me. It’s about lifestyle choices."

Blade cringed a little. It was just eggs and milk, was it really such a big deal?!?! He just didn't get it. He pushed the cookies forward. "It'll be fine man." he said, avoiding his eyes. The colt counted out the bits and put them into the lock box. "Thank you for your patronage." he sorta mumbled, tying a ribbon around the top of the cookie bag to both pretty it up and signal that they'd been paid for.

"You’re welcome and thank you," Wildflour put an extra couple of coins down because he was all about giving to a worthy cause and if the school fundraising went well making they would stop denying his requests for an organic garden and paddle boards. He took his goods and only made it a few steps away before he was opening it up. They really did look delicious. Wildflour shoved one into his mouth and chewed happily.

Blade watched his classmate take the cookies and walk off only a few steps before he dug into the bag for his treat. Blade gritted his teeth and tried to ignore it. It was stupid! It was milk! Milk was good! It was cold and tasted nice and was good in cereal! And eggs! Scrambled eggs were the best thing ever and full of protein! Before he knew it, he'd walked over to Wildflour and snatched away the cookies. "It's so stupid not to eat eggs and milk!!! They're good for you and they're in these cookies!" he realized he was shouting and a few phonies were staring. He coughed and lowered his voice. "I mean, I was wrong about the cookies, I'm pretty sure it was made with milk and I sold them to you anyway."

Blade Waltz was a few seconds late to stop Wildflour’s corruption and he stared at the other colt with a mouth stuffed full of biscuit. His expression was at first confused, then annoyed and then, as the implications of having a non-vegan product in his mouth were made clear, incredibly angry. He wanted to yell at the other colt but he still had food in his mouth and he realized that he should and could just spit it out but it was really, really tasty, so he stood there chewing angrily and then swallowed (guiltily). "You," he hissed, "are the worst."

Blade looked sheepish. "I'm sorry, I just...you were maybe being a little insufferable and maybe I just..maybe was being a little bit of a jerk.." he cleared his throat. That was going to be as much an apology he was probably going to get. The minty colt looked at him out of the corner of his eye. "But it was a good cookie wasn't it? Even if it was made with milk and eggs? You liked it riigghhttt..?? And your stomach didn't explode or your jaw fall off...right right??" he flashed Wildflour a mischievous grin and laughed.

"I-insufferable?" Wildflour puffed up indignantly. "You, no, I did not like it! It was terrible!" There were still crumbs on his cheeks and the sweet taste was still delicious on his tongue. "Ugh! Of course it was good! But that’s- that’s not the point! I don’t not eat eggs and milk because vegan stuff tastes. I mean, let’s be honest most of it tastes horrible-" He cut himself off. He was still angry but Blade was laughing and for some reason it made him want to laugh too. "You are the worst salesman" he told Blade but then he was giggling. It had been his own fault and if he was honest with himself, he’d already guessed it wasn’t vegan, he’d just wanted to eat something tasty.

Blade wiped a tear out of his eye. "Oh..oh it's really horrible tasting is it?" That admission made him laugh harder. After a moment or two, he took a deep breath to calm the giggles, threw his wing around the other and pulled Wild hip to hip with him. "How about this then.." he said conspiratorially. "If you won't tell anyone I frauded you into buying some non vegan cookies, I won't tell anyone you enjoyed non vegan cookies and hate vegan food. What do you say?" Blade winked and bumped his flank against the unicorns.

Wildflour grumbled a little when Blade pulled him in close but the next suggestion did have him laughing, properly. Because it was ridiculous but it did sound like a good concession. It wasn’t as if Wildflour didn’t cheat every now and then, he just usually made sure nobody found out about it. "I hope you keep secrets better than you sell cookies," he replied tartly. "But agreed."

"Deal." Whew, that was a relief. Blade handed back the bag of cookies. "Here are your "vegan" cookies. If you want more, please come by again!" he said cheerfully. With a wink, he turned and headed back to his table where several phony were holding bags of treats. "See you later Wildflour! Ah ah!! I'm coming, sorry for your wait everyone!" He snorted and waved Blade Waltz away. “Thank you for your excellent service,” he called and then left the other colt to it. Wildflour told himself he’d give the rest of the cookies to his siblings but they were all gone by the end of the day.
