Jeremiah did manage to convince Algie that a walk after dinner would be a good thing. They had ended up walking where Ashdown Fashion week had been held, not that far away from the fountain that Chester had met the mysterious woman. His arm was interlinked with Algie's, a perfect gentleman (for the moment), and leaned to whisper in his ear. "So am I absolutely terrible if I want to go look at that fountain again?" It had been a while but with everything that they had talked about, some part of him wanted to see it again. Confirm that it was just a normal place. iloveyouDIE pride and prejudice quest start go!! also before, you know, the body of michael is found.

Alg's fingers curled around Jeremiah's arm and he squeezed a bit as he chuckled, "Can't help but take a second look?" Fprever investigating. "Besides we already know you always terrible," he teased. He did nudge the arm he held onto though, encouraging them following Jeremiah's whim.

"No, I can't," he laughed and agreed. Algie's comment about him being terrible got a particularly troublesome smile in return. "Terrible in all the right ways, I hope," Jeremiah replied, fingers squeezing and walking them in the direction of the alleyway that lead to the fountain. "I have been thinking," the words were said softly, "that we probably need to go back over again. Talk to Heliodora, find out if she knows anything, but also ..." A breath. "Learn what we can about what we can do over there." Yer a wizard, Jeremiah, act like one.

Alg pinched him lightly at the commentary but at urging to go to other ashdown he frowned. It was a resigned sort of face, because there was no real avoiding it forever. They could wait around for it to grab them randomly, or they could push head on and prepare themselves. It was clear after the strange House and then the were attacks at Blackfriars that they weren't nearly as prepared for all of this as they could be. "You're right. I'm feeling pathetically out of my depth with a lot of this.."

Jeremiah just shot Algie a look at the pinch (and there was certainly some part of him that was not exactly happy that the pain of that felt so very distant now). The resigned looked had the taller man leaning to press a kiss to Alg's temple. "I am certain we may never not feel out of our depth. Any moment we think we have a grasp on the situation ..." A sigh was released. "Something steals the ground from out beneath our feet." It was not that far away now, taking the alleyway and the fountain coming into sight. "I don't know that we've been doing ourselves any favors by putting it off."

"We did ourselves a personal favor Jeremiah," Alg admonished with a huff. The other's need to do everything was what didn't do them any favors. This whole arrangement was a struggle of being involved versus being helpless to influence or control anything. He didn't know who or what to believe. "We needed the breather. I've no regrets for that. Even if it meant ignoring all of this for a little while." The fountain was there ahead of them now. He wasn't sure what they were expecting to find but- but there it was.

"I don't regret taking the time, Alg, not in the slightest." Jeremiah squeezed the other man's arm. He did not and he was more than aware that the time was needed. Otherwise he likely would have crumbled already because sometimes all of this was a bit much and he really was due. A sheepish smile was given. "The sentiment is there, however, and I can't ignore it anymore than I can ignore what we're part of now." Especially given that it was getting closer to evening and if the light was to hit his eyes just right ... Well. Jeremiah's head tilted to walk around the fountain, just because. "We should just head over there soon is what I'm saying. I need to look, Alg, to see if I can find anything." Michael, the ones that they had put through that night. "... but also because I remember that magic you flung at the mansion."

Alg circled the fountain on Jeremiah's arm and glanced it over, as well as the buildings around the area. Jeremiah was right that they hadn't seen or heard anything about the were's that were pushed into other ashdown. He wondered if anyone had gone after them. The pack had been adamant about their kind... he wondered if they'd put out a search. He'd honestly almost forgotten about the magic at the mansion and the reminder made him snort. "I really don't remember much besides reading out of the book that magically appeared in my hands.. How about you, hmm?" He'd have found it dashing if not for the imminent threat and having died not long before.

"You mean the bit where I got a sword?" Jeremiah looked amused, pausing in his steps and pulling at Algie so that they could sit on the edge of the fountain. "That I was able to fling fire from?" He shook his head with amusement. "Certainly more impressive with what you did, I think, but also that ... we need to be focusing on that a bit more now." What they could do in other ashdown, what they might be able to achieve with just their will alone.

"What if I'm simply meant to be the mediocre book guy?" Alg chuckled sitting beside his lover and concentrating on his hands to spread that warming vibe as if to make a point. "I've a feeling that fairy fight was rigged." He chuckled. "But yes, we'll go in. Prepared. And work on it."

"I will keep repeating this, precious, but there's nothing mediocre about you." Especially with the fact that his hands could warm and sooth with a touch. "... but the fight did seem rigged but that's probably considering the house owner." Sunny was still an uneasy topic of conversation for both of them. "I've been working with others, like Chris, so that they're prepared but not us." He leaned for a moment against Algie, his head tilted against the top of the other's. "We need to get a better grasp on what we're capable of, what the limits are ..." He chuckled. "Maybe see about getting you an actual grimoire for while you're there." That was mostly in jest but also not because it would be perfect for Algie. "Not so sure about getting a sword for myself."

The fact that pedestrians walked past seemed to be a sign nothing of note would be happening at the fountain. And it wasn't pouring blood or anything so thankfully it seemed they could enjoy the moment. His hand untangled from Jeremiah's but only to trace it with his fingers and brushed his hands over the ring he wore. "If anything's possible, I'm sure we can get you a sword." He chuckled, eyes lifting to Jeremiah's, "Though increasing my questionable book collection doesn't seem like a bad idea."

Jeremiah gave Algie a smile at the way his fingers ran over the ring. The detective lieutenant had found himself, when he was not thinking about it, toying with the ring. He would spin it around on his finger whenever he was idling, the weight of it there a pleasant reminder. "If we're aiming to get you a real grimoire, getting myself a sword wouldn't be a bad idea. Not that I'm sure I'd want it for anywhere other than over there." The fact that there was nothing happening, that people were around, was oddly reassuring. He was reaching for Algie's hand, fingers closing around it. Jeremiah was tugging it upward so that he could press a kiss to the signet ring on Alg's thumb. "We should probably check the library first if we're going to be looking for something to add to your collection," he said with a small smirk. It was there because, even with the small crowd around, he did not hesitate to n** at Alg's wrist briefly before letting their hands settle back down.

"It does seem the place to go for books," Alg smiled a bit, mostly to the kiss to his hand. He just couldn't help it really. The n** to his wrist had his ears turning a bit pink and his hand slipping free to give the other's side a bit of a pinch before settling down on Jer's knee. "It's tempermental though. I couldn't get in there the first time I tried, but the second time I could." He squeezed lightly under his hand, "Always worth trying though."

Jeremiah laughed and bent away at the pinch but looked completely unrepentant. His hand covered Algie's on his knee and squeezed. "Won't know until we go there. I left a map there I should probably try and get my hands on but I've been so busy with everything else I've not tried." He leaned towards the other, watching the people. Were there more people in this crowd that knew what was really going on? Or did they just assume it was some kind of mass hysteria like he had helped- Jeremiah shook his head. "Let's go the next chance we get, alright? We don't have to push for it but we should go sooner rather than later." He let a sigh. "After all, when the eight month comes ..." There would be something else: Adoelle would be found.
