Ashral stood at what looked like a large ancient tree almost in the middle of nowhere, she placed a hand on the tree and frowned, looking down at a piece of paper in her hand. As she turned to leave, she winced lightly as a shiver of pain ached across her shoulder and side. It was lucky she had not sustained more lethal damage during her separation from Hexxis, though the act of manifesting a body had come at a cost of an immense amount of energy. Though, she had almost replenished it with a couple days of rest even though the wounds remained. She folded up the paper and slipped it into her stocking and began to walk away from the tree, retracing her steps toward the city of Khares, hoping to find a way to contact Ree. If only she knew how, her thoughts racing about what she could do to find him again.

It had been following Ashral for a while. Watching, waiting. She was weak, it could feel that. It could see it in her step and her labored breaths. It wouldn't be long now before it could strike and claim the soul that should have passed. Lazarus stepped the corner, it's eyes transfixed on the girl. It waited for her to stop for a moment before coming closer to close the gap. "нεxxιs.... үσυя ∂εαтн αωαιтs ..." it growled out in a guttural, evil tone.

Ashral began to feel a wave of dread creeping up on her as an almost inhuman voice called out for Hexxis. Immediately on the defense, she spun around quickly, hand on the hilt of the sword, already half drawn before she froze. Eyes widened as she looked upon a frightful armored figure closing in on her. This feeling... This is the one she felt watching them a while back. She exhaled shakily as she slid her foot back, lowering her stance slightly. Could she even fight this thing? Likely not. It looked older and much stronger than her. "I'm not Hexxis..." she retorted back softly, eyes narrowed on the figure as she watched it carefully.

"үσυ αяε ғαтε∂ тσ ∂ιε. ∂σ ησт ωαsтε үσυя тιмε ℓүιηg тσ мε." It retorted, slapping the air downward with its hand. A long whip, made out of the spines of humans appeared in its hand, creaking with the sound of chattering skulls. "αccερт үσυя ғαтε, αη∂ ∂ιε ρεαcεғυℓℓү." It slapped the whip backwards and lashed it forward at Ashral, it's intent to maim her.

Ashral opened her mouth to try to reiterate who she was when it summoned a whip made from... A spine. She inhaled sharply as she sheathed her sword, attempting to turn to run when it lashed it's whip at her, unable to react quick enough to guard herself as it lashed deep into her chest and she yelped from the pain, being thrown down to the ground hard by the sheer force. This was bad. This was very bad. She finally scrambled to her feet, ignoring the pain as she turned and took into a full run, a hand sliding up to cover the fresh wound as it stung from the pressure of her own touch. Fear was building up as she was becoming very aware whatever this thing was, it was definitely intent on killing her, as she released her intimidation aura, reaching it as far as she could manage. "Somebody help me!!!" she screamed out. Though, it was doubtful anyone could hear her from how far she was from the city.

"тcн..." The Dullahan continued it's pace, following her as she ran. It could smell her fear, only licking it's lips in response as it followed, whip behind it, trailing fresh blood. The hunt was on. Its quarry would not flee it. It was death. It was the collector. That was it's purpose. "ιғ үσυ тιяε үσυяsεℓғ, үσυ ωση'т ρυт υρ мυcн σғ α ғιgнт." It called out, giving it's position to her. It wanted her to know..

Run or fight, run or fight! Her mind raced over options, maybe she could outrun it, maybe it was bluffing about the inevitable. But what if it wasn't. She looked to some shadows of a tree, jumping into the shadows below her to reappear behind a tree in the distance and took off running for a half collapsed house just further up the path. The front of the home was still intact as she shadow teleported once more just inside, dropping to her knees as it was causing a lot of strain to keep teleporting in her condition, blood soaking through her clothes easily as she coughed hard, blood spilling from her mouth a bit. She turned her head and looked to the door, backing up from it. Getting up and into a low stance, she placed a hand on the hilt of the sword once more, fear was ready to draw that sword. Running out of options, she would have to fight. If it even knew where she was.

Lazarus had levitated up as she disappeared into her own shadow and kept it's eyes intently scanning the area. It saw her run and tried to follow her . It came to an assumption she would find a place to hide. She had suddenly disappeared towards a house and prepared to walk into it. It could have her cornered. Excellent. It walked through the door, the door opening way for it. "үσυя мιη∂ ιs σρεη тσ мε. тяү ησт тσ sσιℓ үσυяsεℓғ, мσятαℓ."

Ashral took a shaky step back as the figure opened the door without even touching it, her eyes widening in terror as nothing seemed to stop it. She gripped the hilt tighter as she gritted her teeth, pushing down her fear as best as she could. Sliding her stance an inch wider, she unsheathed her sword and charged at Lazarus, screaming out to put force behind her blow as she ran up and swung her sword at the weak spot of the elbow that held the whip. The last effort she could muster to combat against this thing in her weak state. If she had to die all over again, the she'd yet again die fighting.

Lazarus looked down at her and over at its arm as her blade sliced into it. It's grip weakened a moment before reaching up and grabbing for her hair. "ωнαт αяε үσυ тнιηкιηg?" It growled, trying to probe her thoughts for what was going on in her head. It got off on fear. Fear was good.

Ashral yelped again as it grabbed her hair, "Let go!!" she screamed as she placed a foot against the figure, trying to get leverage to break free as she used her sworded hand to brace against it and her free hand to try to pry its hand from her hair. Tears were starting to form in her eyes, desperate to get away.

"үεs, cяү ғσя мε.... αsняαℓ..?" It suddenly narrowed its eyes angrily at her as it tossed her upward letting go of her, as it snatched her back up by the neck midair, squeezing her throat slowly. "үσυ αяε ησт нεxxιs..." It spit at her in disgust as it sneered. "үσυя ℓιғε ιs sραяε∂ тнιs ∂αү. ι ωιℓℓ вε вαcк ғσя үσυ, σηε ωнσм нαs ∂ιε∂ αη∂ яσsε." the Dullahan then reeled back slightly as it choke slammed her body into the ground hard then turned and walked back out the door as if nothing had been happening.

Ashral choked out a noise of pain as the remaining bit of air was knocked from her lungs upon impact. She was trying to cough but she couldn't even muster that, she simply couldn't breath anymore. As the dullahan seemed to take interest elsewhere, Ashral slowly pulled herself across the floor and underneath the large couch in the living room and tried to pull back in her intimidation aura. Curling up she finally let out a very faint whimper as blood began to pool up around her from her wound. Tears overwhelming her eyes as she tried to call out for help, but breath simply could not be drawn anymore. Panic was setting in quickly as she covered her mouth and closed her eyes tight. 'No, shhhh, not a sound. He might hear you, then it'll be all over.' She gripped her mouth tighter as her lips tried to let out another pained whimper as she curled up tighter. 'Is this how I'll die? ..just as I lived... alone and afraid.' She choked back what would be a sob as her other hand slid up to her bruised neck, pain surging across the area as she tried to force anything through her throat but there was no use as she slowly began to lose consciousness from lack of air.

Ree stared blankly at the Tree that rose out of the waste that surrounded it and wondered why. Why just one tree here for so long? Underground water supply, earth type, magic? He fixed on any of these things to keep his mind from wandering back to Tri and Hexxis. Overkill really, but he didn't feel that way. His only regret was that he tipped his hand and that they will be asking Anadii for the file now. He felt regreat for that, for hiding it but now who knows how many people knew Hexxis command to sleep and it could spread again just as easily if Tri told Mara which he would.

".....urgh" he growled and angled himself downward, diving as he looked around searching for any humanoid figure. This would have been the first place Ash would have gone, but how long ago was the split? Was she still in the area or reached it and left. If she left he had no idea where to look for her next, likely up toward Aldas...great everything in reverse. Then if he did find her? She was a Malice....he wasn't stupid thinking she would be the same as she was under the deal. Yet he actually wanted to see her...just her. He had hope she would give him some idea to what Hexxis was thinking but to learn that she was gone, well his guilt for hiding the code wasn't that strong any more.

God...he was looking for Ash mainly because he was stubborn wasn't he? And also because he was treated like a child ...some stupid child.

"...?" He turned his head sharply to the side as a wave of dread pass through him making him miss a beat as his own aura fought against his control. Shadow? Ashral? Pulling it back under control he turned in the direction it felt the strongest. Looking for a Shadow at a tree and sensing an aura.....very likely Ashral...

Taking a few seconds he looked around and Sight teleported until it felt stronger, flaring his wings and dropping in altitude with each jump until he spotted a seemingly abandon home quite nearby where it felt the strongest. Go or not to go? Diving down the rest of the way he backed wing at the last moment and landed on his feet. Pausing again he moved toward the door, gaining a bit more confidence at its run down and abandoned look, looking through what was left of the windows as his throat went dry and his heart speed up from being so close to the source. He rather be outside but the aura was strong and very far out...they weren't trying to hid.

"Hello?!" He called out and moved through the open door, soul light flaring up around him to give everything a little more light as his eyes went directly to the pool of blood on the floor and the drag marks leading under the couch. "Hello? Do you need help?" He asked quietly staying by the door frame as his wings furled in.

Her hand loosened their grip as she didn't have the strength to hold them up anymore, her lips moving to try to call out to someone but ultimately nothing came, her body aching over with waves of pain. She heard movement and she closed her eyes tightly, her hands shaking and just trying to keep herself from making a sound.

"Hello? Do you need help?"

That voice.... Ree! Her eyes snapped open and she tried everything she could to force out noise through her throat despite the pain, only ending up with the slight pained whimper as she reached out a hand from her hiding place. Was this a dream or was it really him? The thought that this was a ploy to draw her out crossed her mind that made her want to withdraw her but she wouldn't be able to even if she wanted to, her hand coming to rest against the floor, blood sliding across her skin to pool out further. Her vision was fading as she tried to stay focused on staying awake, afraid if she closed her eyes again, she'd never wake up again.

The soft wimpering sound and the hand peeking out from under the couch was enough incentive for him to go into the house carefully. Using telekinisis he pushed the couch out of the way. The surge of adrenaline chased away the wariness of the flight as he got closer to the source of the aura, slowly getting used to it bit by bit.

"Ash..ral?" He he muttered in surpised seeing someone that looked familiar and strange at the same time. There was only a moment of hesitance that started to build up with the dread and the fear before he just hurried the rest of the way to her. His artifacts flashed into and out of existences as he used them before they had a chance to even form. Falling to his knees he rested his hand on her arm staring at her as he sent in healing energy while shifed her to the side... Trachyia collapse...shoot shoot shoot. (Healing. Two light artifacts: lvl 6))

Her vision faded in and out, blurred and twisted. She blinked slowly then the couch moved from over her and Ree's face came into view. Her face tensed as more tears overwhelmed her face, just grateful that it really was him. Her lips moved to say his name but nothing came out. Her body wouldn't move as she felt him place a hand on her arm and she felt warmth within her throat. Slowly, air was allowed in and she gasped for that breath she had desperately needed, coughing hard as she winced in pain. "...ree..." she whispered, forcing a smile on her face through a pained expression. "...it... took you... long enough..." she joked, trying to chuckle but it hurt too much. She force another breath through her still bruised neck, her face softening to stare at him. ..you... came.. back.. for me." she forced out between labored breaths, straining to reach a hand toward him but she hadn't the energy to complete the action as her hand merely fell back down.

"Really......" He whispered faintly most of his concentration on healing the wounds that he could feel as best as he could before he had to stop. "Dying and you ask me why it took me to long " there was a faint twitch of his lips as he tried to smile at that, at the improbability of it all. What was she doing under a crouch suffocating to death? He didn't see anyone else around when he arrived so what the heck happened? Plus she ..she seemed almost as she did at the house when they just talked....less dying of course.

He fought with the different slew of emotions in the past half hour and just tried to focus instead on what he could. Trying to ignore the feeling of relief and ...joy? that was bubbling up unexplicable. "Shhh, breath. Just breath. Breathing is good..breathing is great I love breathing. " he couldn't help trying to be funny but quickly sober a second later. "One thing. What happened? And do we need to move soon?" We....

Ashral let out a strained sigh of relief as he began to joke a bit. Yes, this was definitely Ree. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts, as she didn't fear her death as much. She smiled weakly as she concentrated on breathing before his question made her pause. Opening her eyes, she stared at Ree again and narrowed her eyes in pain. "Some thing attacked me.... called me Hexxis... wouldn't listen to me...." she tried to explain, taking moments to breathe. "...it finally realized I wasn't her... and left... like it didn't care... that it almost killed me..." she sighed again shakily and laid there still. ".....that thing could have hurt you..... and tri... isn't he going to.. get mad...." she thought for a moment. Right, the contract was finished, she didn't have to stick around, and yet she still wanted to. Why did he come for her even after he should have just let her leave? That was their agreement after all. "...idiot...you... shouldn't have...come..." she whispered, her voice cracking lightly from the remorse of her situation, and the pain in her chest from her half-assed attempt to verbally push him away. She should have been able to handle herself. He shouldn't have come back for her, and yet she was so happy he did.

"Yes I shouldn't have come. I know I shouldn't have come and yet I am still here. " he said dully as he kept healing and shook his head finally finishing up what he could so she didn't bleed to death more....shoot she should be at a hospital not here in the middle of nowhere.

"If you want me to go, I can go. Unless you want to kill me then...well....I think I might still have a leg up on you there for a while, as long as you don't lose any more blood " he said with a tired sigh, leaning back and looking at her, really looking at her. "Something's after Hexxis and got you? " he sounded faintly incredulous, knowing Ashral's reputation. " probably her last job or something. But those wounds...they were old not new. Was he hunting you the moment you split off?"

She paused as he spoke, agreeing to her statement that he shouldn't have come, but then again it was too late for that now. He mentioned that he could go if she wanted and she clenched her teeth, anguish in her eyes. She shook her head slowly she took in a shaky breath. As he spoke of her killing him, she couldn't help but laugh, though it was cut short by a gasp for air and coughing. Maybe laughing was too much for her right now. "...you shouldn't have... i could've killed you... and yet... you did it anyway.............. thank you.." she whispered, and slid a hand across the floor toward him, trying to force another smile. "I had never seen it before.... but I... I felt its presence stalking us before.... she wouldn't.. listen to me either... It was following me... for a while it seems... but it was after Hexxis..." strained to try to sit up, grimacing at the pain of her remaining wounds. "She was... on a mission... he kept calling me doll... and I couldn't.. stop him... it made us separate... I...they shot us both... I had to leave... I don't know what happened to her...."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2016 11:00 pm

Ree glanced down at her hand and reached out to grab it, squeezing it lightly as he looked back at her face. A flicker of curisoity and confusion in his gaze as he stared back at her black rimed red eyes tilting his head slightly, tired. He let out a flicker of annoyance and flared a wing to try and push her back down. "You feel better but you aren't" he shook his head and shifted to a sitting position as he continued to hold her hand in a show of support.

A took him a moment to realize Ashral had been talking about two different people, the one who was stalking Hexxis and the second who had called Ashral away. "That one who hurt you now left and is hunting Hexxis..." He muttered watching her face for confirmation or not, he didn't -see- anyone at least when he arrived but then again he was focused mostly on the dread feeling. "The one who hurt you first ...accidental? " he asked again letting her hand go and started pulling off the hidden Velcro straps for his hoodie until he got it off and offered it to her. He had a black turtleneck underneath as he went back to thinking, that explains it, she was already weak when the second one came hunting but why was it hunting Hexxis before she even split.

"Warmth....as for that word, it is one of your hidden commands. " he said quietly, not even knowing what the heck he was doing now. "Hexxis has some too, yes she is alive, I used one on her before I came here to give me time. However....I only learned you split about an hour or so ago and I only guessed you might be here. " he said looked slightly alarmed and hesitant. "A lot of coincidences really .." He fluffed his wings then shook his head. "Maybe you have your own set of luck " he smiled very faintly then looked around, trying to see if there was anything he could use. "Well then...lets get you on the couch?" He looked at her curiously.

She gave pause as he tried to push her back down, then complied as she lay there and nodded. She could feel the warmth of his hand and she squeezed it very lightly and she averted her eyes for a brief moment.

As he began to ask questions, she tried to make sure he understood what she had been trying to say. "The thing that... just attacked me... was after Hexxis... not me.." she frowned slightly and closed her eyes. "...at least not yet anyway... I think it... was some kind of soul.. collector... said it would be back for me..." she opened her eyes to look at him, her gaze soft but concerned. "The man that.. called me doll... Hexxis was trying to kill.. as part of a mission... she knew something wasn't right.. but she kept going.. caused a lot of problems... she was compromised... and he was pissed... shot at us in retaliation..." she clarified and sighed.

She looked down to his hand as he let go of hers, a feeling of regret and longing as she then withdrew her hand as well and looked away. She glanced the hoodie as he offered it, she was about to decline as to not get it soaked in her blood, but that was sort of a moot point by now as her blood was everywhere by this point. She took the hoodie and tried to wrap herself in it, as she felt a bit more relaxed about the gesture.

She let out a deeper sigh despite the pain as he confirmed what they had already suspected. "..figures.. every time he told me to do something... I just would... I... It was.." she narrowed her eyes in distress, swallowing hard and paused for a moment to attempt to collect herself then looked away. "..It was scary... I didn't know they could do that... I knew Hexxis had them.. and I had a few, but I didn't think..." her voice trailed off, as really the insinuation of what she meant was already there. "...i thought I'd be able to fight it... like I had before..."

She listened to his voice for the time being as he explain that he only recently found out she had separated from Hexxis and it was fairly lucky that he'd assumed she'd go to the tree, then again, she had assumed the same of Ree as that was the only place they both knew would be of interest. She nodded slowly then looked at him as he suggested to get on the couch. Taking a deep breath, she nodded once more in response.

"Ha...I'm not even following my own advise" he muttered as he got up and looked down at her then to the couch, feeling the trickle warmth of Ashral's blood that had absorbed right through his clothing. With a combination of telekinisis and just normal strength to adjust for the difference he lifted up to the couch and lowered her again. Dusted grimy couch, maybe the floor was better but not while she was bloody, anemic and likely to be very soon cold. He also needed to do a better cleaning of what wounds she did have left, having at least burnt out the infection that had been setting in and took the time to boost her immune system while at it.

"Just focus on breathing, I won't keep on talking until you're better" he shook his head and looked around. "I'll be back" he muttered, sure now that what had attacked her had likely gone back to Hexxis and he could look around for anything they could use. He should warn Tri...later much later like tomorrow when Hexxis snaps out of it.

Scrounging around he can back with a dirty stiff hand towel, an empty jam glass with some greenish water. There was nothing here clean enough to put on a wound and no real water. "Well then, I need to go sneak to Kaleres and grab somethings. How are you feeing?"

Ashral winced as she was moved, but at least she was off of the floor. It didn't feel as safe as being under the couch for some reason but it didn't much matter with Ree being there now. She opened her mouth to protest his comment to stop talking, but then simply nodded. She didn't mind him talking, and she could still answer yes or no questions. She could be quiet. She was good at that. As he left her for a moment, she frowned and watched him as much as she could. He returned with less than clean items and she sighed. This was not the most ideal situation. "I... I'll be okay..." she answered then looked at him with soft but pained eyes once more then looked away. "If I had any sense... I'd find a way to be gone... by the time you returned.." she was quietly fighting back tears, trying to keep a stoic face in the waves of emotion she felt. "...you weren't supposed to come back..." she muttered softly, her throat tight and painfully, though it didn't feel like it was entirely the fault of the bruising this time. She kept her eyes averted and just laid there. "...if... you want me to be here... when you get back.... I will..." she commented softly then closed her eyes, her breathing shaky as she steadied herself and sighed once more.

Ree frowned faintly and sweeper his wings back as he crouched down so they were to eye level as he looked at her carefully, it was so odd talking to someone who looked like a complete stranger but with a familiar personality.

"Those are supposed to be my lines " he forced a faint smile but it slumped and faded as he sighed. They were the ones needing to run from the Malice..not the other way around usually..but she was a Shadow now did being a malice even apply any more?

"Do you want me not to return? Do you have somewhere you want to go if I do leave? " he glanced toward the window but the Tree wasn't in sight from this angle. "It has been centuries....and things have changed. If you want I can stay for a few days show you some of the more basic things and go...assuming you don't have a burning desire to go killing me. So far I've been told I'm a selfish murdering idiot. Likely true some of it...if you want to risk it "

She looked at him, grief and confusion plain in her expression as he spoke. Those were his lines, weren't they. She still didn't understand what he was thinking. She as a Malice, she didn't even know if she'd still try to kill him in a fit of insanity or not.

He asked her if she wanted him to return. Idiot. Did she even have anywhere to go? Things had changed since she was last alive, and yet it didn't really matter. He offered to stay and tears wouldn't stop as she choked back a sob and covered her mouth for a moment. "Idiot..." she whispered. "...of course I want you to come back... but I don't want to tell you that!!" she looked like she was struggling with the idea of it all and was trying desperately not to cry. "I don't want to hurt you.... I can't guarantee I'll always be sane.... but if you want to keep hanging out with a homicidal malice like me....." she paused, her voice weak and sniffled from quiet stifled sobs. "...who am I to stop you, right?..." she finished softly, a faint smile on her face despite the tears.

She took in a shaky breath and held out a hand to touch the side of his face. "I'll... do my best... to stay me...." she offered then began to withdraw her again. "...and I'll be here... if you return..."
