Who: Lorin, Claire, & Cadi (alpha lyrae); Rhedefre & Guy Smiley (Atmadja)
Where: The Holmes residence, in Gambino
When: Mid April 2016, in the late morning
Weather: Sunny but not too hot, mid- to upper-60s, blue skies all around

------------------------------

It had started with a simple picture message.

Schedules being as they were and needing a very necessary cooldown from the mission they had done with Lab 305, Claire found herself protecting Lorin more fiercely than ever. It was to her advantage that Lorin didn't seem to mind, but she felt a touch of guilt with how quickly the child was warming to their father as well; she did not want to monopolize his time. Cadi's simple request to keep Lorin for the weekend had come with its own share of anxieties, but that had been put to bed by both Cadi's sister and Lorin's excited bedtime phone call. She just simply could not help herself - she was a worried mother, and this was her first child. Aaron had been a godsend for her anxieties and had told her that things would be fine because they were a team, they would do it together. Lorin himself had made new friends in the weeks that had since elapsed, due in part to the orchestrations of his family but mostly thanks to his willing, friendly nature.

The honey Frei was enthusiastic as ever about his environment and followed Claire around as she worked outside in her fledgling garden. Spring had finally dawned with beautiful weather and the opening of the nurseries and garden centers, and she felt anxious to get back to work after the long, dead semi-cold of Gambino winters. Lorin watched her intently as she worked and his energetic hands yearned to help, so she guided him through the basics of plant care - repotting plants that had grown too large for their former homes, planting bulbs, watering, pruning (not that she had much to prune yet). His enthusiasm touched her heart and he went about it on all cylinders. Claire had been so distracted by the thoughts of getting him his own sun hat and gardening gloves that she had not noticed how covered in mud he had become, a look of intense concentration on his small features as his wings fluttered behind him. She wiped a hand on her pants and went for her phone, snapping a picture unawares until he heard the click and glanced over, looking momentarily startled before he dissolved into a fit of giggles.

"Papa and Sissy will love it," she assured him. As she scrolled through her contacts to find Cadi and Aaron's names, she thumbed too fast and landed at the bottom of the list, and her eyes rested on the name under her finger - Rhedefre. She thought back to their dogged pursuit of Fel Essences and those long stretches in the car when it was just her and the stag Raevan. She had spoken at length about Lorin, some about her capture, and he had expressed such interest to meet her son. Now that things were settling down, perhaps it was time. She likewise thought of Vesna and Lorenzo and the emphatic promise she had made to the necromancer at their first meeting, followed up during their hunt. That would be something that needed arrangement as well.

For now, she smiled and sent the picture off to Cesc with the caption: "Look at the little mudlark I found today! This might be the face you see when you visit sometime. =)"

Cesc, for his part, had spent the better part of the time since the fel essence search trying his hardest to run himself completely ragged. Late nights, early mornings, days without sleep with only alcohol, energy drinks and sunlight to keep him going. He'd started to get some mean bags under his eyes and had, for a time, let his stubble go unchecked for too long.

That day, he was taking a well-deserved afternoon nap with Guy Smiley when his phone buzzed, rousing him from sleep. He fumbled, lifting his face from his pillow and scrabbling for his phone. The catsune beside him yawned hugely, baring all his teeth, and then stuck his nose into Cesc's armpit.

Unlocking his phone when he saw Claire's name on the screen, Cesc immediately smiled a bright, more stag-like smile than he had in days. Lorin! Look at the little guy! He looked positively like sunshine and honey and springtime combined into a teeny body. What an adorable little Frei.

Not wasting any more time with the nap, Cesc sat up--earning a 'meurf' from Guy, who was comfortable--and texted back: "Look at this gardening pro! When can I come study under him?"

The picture had been sent off to Cadi and Aaron in due order and Claire set the phone on one of the wicker chairs, but it did not take long before it buzzed in reply. She and Lorin glanced up at the same time and she had the phone in hand, surprised that it was not Cadi's name she was looking at (Cadi was notoriously fast in replying on most days) but Cesc's. She brightened and turned to Lorin to read him the message out loud, which bloomed such a smile on the young Frei's face at the possibility of another meeting. He had had one unhappy meeting so far, with Aaron's parents, but that did little to damper his enthusiasm, something for which Claire was very grateful. She had shared a very watered-down version of the events of the flower viewing party with Lorin, only giving Aaron the full story behind closed doors, but he had seemed very interested to hear about the other Raevans.

"What do you say, baby boy? Let's invite Rhedefre over, okay?" she asked.

"Yeah!" He smiled, a few splotches of mud on his cheeks, nodding for added enthusiasm - amazing how easily things come together with the right push. That was all it took and she hammered back a quick reply: "We are free all week, whenever you'd like to stop by. Please come by any time!"

The days that followed included a volley of texts from her side, inquiries about what kind of drinks he liked, if he had a snack preference, dropping her address. They were also full of Lorin curiously asking after Cesc: "When'm I gonna meet him, Mama?", "Is he coming today?", "How didja meet him?", to which Claire could only chuckle. The boy was so terribly excited. What she had not expected on the day of the visit was Cadi stopping by for lunch and a visit, and as Lorin threw his arms around the girl's waist as she struggled out of her worn sneakers, Claire decided to be up front with her.

"We're gonna have another friend over today, too," she said cheerfully as Lorin led Cadi inside. The girl paused on the threshhold, looking uncertain.

"Oh," she said, shifting on the spot. "Sorry, um.. should I go..?"

"Oh no, no, not at all!" Claire insisted. "Please stay. I think you'll like him." Cadi still looked unsure, but the honey Frei next to her gave her hand an insistent tug.

"C'mon, Sissy! You'll really like him!" Lorin looked so certain of his words, eyes set and serious.

"Lorin, you haven't even met him yet," Claire laughed, but Lorin puffed his cheeks out and continued to lead Cadi to the living room. His insistence made both women laugh, breaking some of the tension of the moment.

You'll really like him! was also a chorus being repeated on Cesc's side of things, but his was to an over-excited catsune who was beside himself on being taken on an extended walk to meet others. Cesc promised Guy that he'd have a good time, that there was about to be plenty of things to sniff, and that (in that case), he really needed to stop trying to eat pinecones off the sidewalk and wanting to roll in the grass of some other stranger's lawn.

Cesc made sure to make himself presentable--he'd shaved and showered that morning, got a few solid hours of sleep the night before, and put on a nice turquoise-and-black striped v-neck tee he kept for when he wanted to look presentable but not too formal. His hair had dried in the wind from the beach, tousled and curled and messy, so Cesc had reluctantly slapped a ballcap atop it to keep his presentability in tact.

There was still something in his appearance that Cesc couldn't quite erase, a darkness under his eyes, that one night of decent sleep didn't take care of. But he was otherwise as genial and friendly and calm as ever, his aura pleasant and warm and alive that morning.

He now stood outside the Holmes household, bidding Guy Smiley to sit (he did, then rose, then sat again) and ringing the doorbell. He smiled and Guy seemed to as well, his ears perked and his eyes slitted happily.

It had been somewhat of a task to get Cadi and Lorin settled down; the frei kept asking excited questions about the surprise visitor and Cadi had looked vaguely uncomfortable at the idea of being around during another's visit, hinting that she did not want to intrude. Eventually, Claire prevailed by putting Cadi to work playing with Lorin to distract the child, and by the time the two of them whipped out a coloring book and some crayons and settled onto the floor, the doorbell rang. All three sets of eyes went to the door and Lorin gave a small cry of delight and floated up, spilling crayons about him.

"Aw geez -" Cadi scrambled to pick them up and shoved them back in the box with a shake of her head and a laugh, and Lorin hovered closer to the entryway but then suddenly stopped and glanced back at Claire in uncertainty.

"What's wrong?" she asked as she came forward, concerned. He glanced away and put his hands behind his back.

"Can you do it?" he said with a flush of his cheeks. Initial concern at his sudden stop faded quickly and she relaxed into a smile - over-exuberance tempered with a touch of shyness. Cadi set the crayon box and coloring book on the coffee table and rose to her feet slowly; her own nerves aside, she, too, had to laugh at hot and cold excitement of the little boy. She snuck up on him and wrapped him in a hug from behind and hefted him up, and Lorin let out a shrill giggle at the sudden surprise, momentarily forgetting his shyness.

"You got this, kiddo," Cadi said, tickling him, and Lorin flailed. "You're gonna make a new friend today, aren'tcha excited?" She increased her efforts and Lorin laughed, and in the distraction she looked to Claire meaningfully; the older woman smiled her thanks as she headed into the entryway to answer the door. As soon as she disappeared around the corner however, Lorin gave a nervous cry of distress and wriggled out of Cadi's arms, floating quickly to follow his mama but shrinking back as he noticed her opening the door.

"Good to see you again, Rhedefre!" It had almost been a month since they had last seen each other and she was delighted at the sight of him, casually dressed and ready for a day of relaxation. Her eyes made their way down to the leash in his hands and the catsune at the end of it, sitting and being very well-behaved. "And hello to you too, Guy Smiley! It's nice to finally meet you!" She had only seen him through the pictures Cesc had showed her but they did little to show how cute he really was. Oh, Lorin would just adore him. Claire stepped to the side. "Come on in, you two." As she moved, she heard the rustle of clothing and the flutter of wings and caught a glimpse of blonde hair as it shrunk around the corner, but the boy's fingers still held onto the threshold and it was only a matter of seconds before curious amber eyes peeked around it again. "I've got someone who's dying to meet you," she whispered with a chuckle.

The moment the door opened and there were new feet to smell, Guy Smiley went forward, sniffing with great interest. Cesc smiled at Claire's greeting and extended his arms for a hug. "Good to see you too! You're looking well!" he said.

Finding an open space, Guy Smiley went forward with a high-pitched chirp of enthusiasm, his fluffy tail shuddering with excitement. Cesc was being too slow for him, and he stretched out his leash to try to get to the floating ribbon he knew heralded another Raevan and potential giver of treats. Unable to move any further, he flopped onto his side, assuming he would be met halfway, and turned his head upside down. He gave another high chirp of welcome to the newcomer and pawed the air.

"He's got no manners," laughed Rhedefre as he entered, adjusting his ballcap. He was smiling broadly, more than ready to finally meet Lorin. He could see his little fingers around the corner, then finally the Frei's head and eyes. The first thing Cesc thought, with great surprise, was how much he really DID look like Claire's son in person. A small child, dressed up in fantastical clothing--fully her blood. It was stunning.

His first thought gave way to a silly second--antennae!!--and then a more coherent third: The boy looked happy but shy. Cesc floated a bit downward, as a human would kneel, to be at Lorin's level.

"Well, hi!" He greeted cheerily. "I'm Rhedefre--or Cesc, if you'd rather. Your Mama told me a lot about you! It's good to finally meet you. This is Guy Smiley--do you wanna pet him?"

On the floor, Guy's tail gave an encouraging wag.

Claire happily stepped into Cesc's arms for a hug and gave him a pat on the back, standing to the side to allow both Raevan and catsune fully inside. The catsune seemed to have spotted Lorin the more quickly of the two and she giggled at his display. Her smile remained when Lorin had been noticed at last and he ducked a little once again when the stag Raevan approached but still kept his eyes trained on him, wide and curious. Tiny fingers drummed on the wall and he smiled down at the catsune, fingers eager to take up the offer, before he looked up at Cesc again, shy but happy.

"Hi Cesc," he said timidly as he hovered out a little from the safety of the living room. "Mama told me 'bout you too." His smile lost some of his shyness and now he was all sunshine, clenching his tiny hands in front of him as his face scrunched in search of a memory. "She told me 'bout the, um.. the game! The finding game." To see her gentle redirection of real life events laid bare, Claire flushed a little but otherwise held her smile as she shut the door.

"The search?" she prompted him, remembering how he distressed he had looked when he saw her come home that night covered in scratches and how it had just rolled off the tongue to save him from worry. Lorin nodded emphatically.

"Yeah!" He looked between his new friend and his new friend's pet, remembering the offer to pet him. "Can I..?"

"Why don't we all get settled in the living room first?" Claire suggested kindly as she placed a hand on Lorin's shoulder on her way past; her volume rose just a touch in an effort to alert Cadi that they were coming back in. Lorin looked a little put out but brightened immediately at their destination. "Let's get everyone some drinks and get comfy, okay sweetpea?"

"Okay!" He beamed and reached out for Cesc's wrist to guide him further inside. "You wanna sit on the couch with me?" Lorin asked as they started the move, the shyness melting away with his hidden enthusiasm. He had been terribly excited to meet this newcomer and he could not wait to learn more about him and his very cute pet. "I can show you my colorin' book - oh! And you can meet my sissy, too!"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 20, 2016 9:20 pm

Seeing that people were headed in a different direction--and that he had a little more lead than he did a moment ago--Guy Smiley rolled back onto his paws and trotted after Claire, his nose in the air as he sniffed her legs. There was the smell of another someone in the area, and he needed to figure out which one of the people was the most likely to give him snuggles or treats before he settled.

"Yeah!" said Rhedefre, comprehending Claire's tact as Lorin said it--what was she supposed to tell this little round-cheeked anthropomorphized bundle of adorable? That they'd gotten attacked by birds and ran ragged all over town? "Me and your Mama were on the same team during the search! She was the best. Maybe next time you can play a different game with all of us."

Cesc followed Lorin with ease, allowing himself to be led wherever the child wanted. He smiled hugely at the chance to sit next to the new Frei--AND see his coloring book. "Wow, you'd show me a coloring book? That's so super awesome. I love seeing colors. They're so cool and creative."

As they entered the next area, he noted the next part--what sissy meant. At first, he thought Lorin had said 'fishy', and for a brief moment, he was concerned about Guy Smiley being able to control himself around such a delicious moving snack. But then it dawned on him that Lorin had said sissy, and while Cesc hadn't thought Claire had any other children, he was willing to meet whomever it was. "Yeah, I'd love to meet your sissy! Maybe we can all color?

Guy Smiley rubbed up against a couch and rejected it as the favored spot with a spiteful sneeze. He then rubbed against Claire's leg and gave a soft 'murr' of approval.

"You can tell him if he's being annoying," said Cesc, looking back up at Claire. "I can keep him on-leash if you're more comfortable that way.

Lorin gasped as they entered the living room proper and he looked from Claire to Cesc - the talk of games certainly got his attention. "I can't wait!" He hovered a little higher in his excitement, hand sliding down Cesc's wrist to take his hand instead. "You're gonna like my colorin' book, Cesc! You, me, 'n Sissy can color lotsa pages if you want! There're lotsa pictures of animals in it." Claire almost could not believe the enthusiasm so apparent in her little boy as he beamed at the stag Sigel, and as she took a seat in one of the arm chairs was surprised by the faint feeling of Guy's nuzzling and his trilling murr.

"Oh no, he's perfectly fine," Claire laughed, lowering her hand a few inches shy of Guy Smiley's nose, waiting for the go ahead to pet him. "We're a very pet friendly house here. My mother's dog is over all time."

"Misha's real big," Lorin said knowledgeably. "And he's got a big long nose, too." Misha's nose was probably one of his favorite features on the dog - big and easy to pet. While Claire moved her hand back and up to scratch Guy behind the ears, she took notice of Cadi's marked absence with a soft lift of her eyebrows - it seems the girl had heard her in the hall after all and had likely taken refuge in the kitchen until she felt ready. For the time being, she did not wish to stress the girl out any more than necessary and felt content to wait and introduce her when she cycled back through, but her tiny Frei had other plans. Once he had led Cesc to the couch and settled himself comfortably next to him, he frowned, eyebrows creased.

"Where's Sissy?" Lorin asked in clear confusion, craning his neck around towards the end table and lamp, as though she were hiding behind one of the arm chairs. But to her credit, Cadi appeared from the kitchen, a glass of iced tea in hand. Her expression was bright and friendly, as though she had not been anxious about intruding on a planned visit a mere five minutes before. For the second time that day, Claire was pleasantly surprised.

"Hey!" Cadi said amiably as she approached the group, stopping next to Claire's chair. The glass was left in one of the coasters and she wiped the condensation off on her pants before she extended her hand to the Sigel before her. "I'm Cadi, nice to meet you." Cadi was smiling but there was a hint of something else in her eyes, as though she recognized Cesc but could not place him.

"You may remember her as my plus one at the New Years Eve party," Claire added with a smile of her own. "She's pretty much my niece - my brother's wife's sister, but niece is easier."
PostPosted: Wed Sep 14, 2016 7:40 pm

Guy Smiley leaned into the ear scratches with a very foxlike smile, his tongue hanging out between his long teeth. He slitted his eyes like a cat, and made a throaty noise that could have been described as a purr. His large tail flopped twice on the ground like it was hiding a fish and then was still.

Rhedefre's eyes once traveled to his pet to make sure that nothing was amiss, but seeing Guy so perfectly contented, turned his attention back to Lorin (and the coloring books)

"Oh man, animal coloring books? AND a big long nose dog? What! You guys have it made! Wow, look at all these guys!" Cesc leaned forward and put one hand on the coloring book spread, nodding like an art connoisseur viewing a masterpiece. "Man, I don't know if I've ever seen such a good giraffe color."

When Cadi came out, Cesc looked up, and for a moment, he, too, had an expression on his face that read as momentary confusion. His eyes narrowed slightly in concentration, and nearly missed the conclusion of her greeting before he broke into a smile and offered her his hand. "Cadi! I'm Rhedefre--you can call me Cesc, if you like. Pleasure to meet you."

As Claire expounded on their relationship--and where Cesc might know her--the expression that passed his face was momentarily doubtful. As she finished, he snapped his fingers.

"Wait, I know where--I mean, of course, at the party--" he interrupted himself with a polite nod to Claire. "But I think I've seen you at Second and Main? Is that right, or am I mistaking you?"

Lorin's face radiated with pride at the praise he was receiving, and he leaned forward to peruse the coloring books as Cesc appraised his handiwork. "My brown crayon got broken so he's got blue spots, but I like it." He plucked up the coloring book in both arms, picking through a few of the pages to find more to show him (or to find a good blank page for all of them to color), when Cadi arrived back on the scene.

"Good to meet you, Cesc." Once they had shaken hands, Cadi smiled quickly and took a pensive sip of her drink, eyes darting between Claire and Cesc as they spoke. She, too, was still trying to place where she had seen him, and she gave a start when Cesc snapped his fingers. Realization dawned in her eyes, and a creeping blush stole into her cheek, but she nodded her head and pointed back at him. "Oh man, yeah, that's right - that's where I've seen you! Were you there the other night?" Flustered as she was, there was a hint of a smile at having placed him. "Kinda hard to forget someone with your shade of hair color," she added with a chuckle.

"Second and Main?" Claire asked, her hand pausing atop Guy's head. "That's one of the bars on the main strip, isn't it?"

"Yeah," Cadi admitted, a little sheepishly. "I like to go when I get tired of Louie's." She skated around the chair to take her seat while Claire shot her back a look, mouth pursed in concern. Lorin, however, was oblivious to his mother's worry and clutched the coloring book to his chest in excitement.

"You know Sissy?" Lorin asked. "Sissy said she doesn't have friends!" He beamed happily at Cadi - for all her jokes about friendlessness, here was one right next to him! Lorin was very proud of her. He went back to his perusing, landing on a blank page he considered carefully, and whispered to himself, "I knew she's got friends." Cadi snorted on her drink, one hand raising to stop any from escaping the glass.

"Thanks for believing in me, buddy," Cadi laughed as she leaned back into the seat, taking another draw from her glass.

"Oh shoot, that reminds me," Claire said, getting to her feet slowly with one final scratch behind Guy's ears, so as not to startle him. "Can I get you something to drink, Rhedefre?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 20, 2016 9:27 pm

Cesc couldn't help but let out a laugh at Lorin's pleasant assurances, although his comment did light a flashbulb in his memory--had he ever seen Cadi at Second and Main with someone, or had she been alone? It was hard to tell. He had a good memory for faces, but an imperfect one for situations where he was generally tipsy and chatty. She may've been alone. She may've been sitting with friends and been less than talkative. Who knew.

"I'd love some water, or whatever you're having, thank you," said Cesc, and Guy stood as Claire did, unwilling to leave The Giver of Pets behind. He stretched as if to say that he would bear the indignity of being forced to rise if, say, more scratches or treats might be involved. He sniffed perfunctorily at Cadi, trying to gauge whether she was more or less likely to give snuggles than Claire; in the end, he preferred his original choice (she was going toward Food Smells.)

"Absolutely she's got friends," Cesc then agreed with Lorin, nodding. He smiled a genuine smile at Cadi then, adding: "Friends who are usually a lot better behaved outside of that establishment, I promise." He punctuated with a good-natured laugh, adjusting the bill of his hat.

"Hope you like sun tea then!" Claire offered, and when she noticed Guy at her feet, she patted her leg as she disappeared into the kitchen, inviting him to follow. "C'mon, let me see if I've got any treats for you tucked away."

"Sissy always says she doesn't have 'em but maybe she doesn't know," Lorin replied to Cesc. "Sissy's my friend too." He nodded, smiling proudly at Cadi - his sissy was wonderful, and he was glad Cesc knew that too!

"I don't always -- um --" Cadi said, her face reddening as she laughed out some of her tension. Of course self-deprecating humor would be taken literally by a child, she should have known better. She looked gratefully to the stag Sigel for interceding on her behalf. Despite only being a foggy memory at best, when pressed to think about it, she had seen him there - more than once, in fact. But she could not remember if she engaged him at all. "Yeah, if you've seen anything from me -" She paused, feeling suddenly very embarrassed at her fuzzy memories of those nights. "- same. I'm usually not that embarrassing." She laughed, an uneasy, nervous sound, and her voice was quieter as she continued. "It was kinda surprising seeing you there, though."

"S'it where you go to meet lotsa people?" Lorin asked. He held the coloring book to his chest to keep the blank page saved, too engrossed in the conversation at hand to think of putting it down. "I like meeting people, can I come?"

"It's usually past your bedtime, bucko," Cadi laughed, leaning over to ruffle Lorin's head when he looked a little put out. She grinned at Cesc. "As well as your goodness level. Let the demons lie." She certainly had done a fair bit of burying her own demons in the drink as of late. Her expression softened and she leaned forward, hands cupped around her glass. "But yeah, you're the first Raevan I've seen there. After seeing y'all at the New Years Eve party, I'd feel there would be more of you out and about."
PostPosted: Wed Sep 28, 2016 7:04 pm

Guy cheerfully followed Claire into the lingering Food Smell room, sniffing the air with relish and letting his thick tail bob behind him. There was also some gentle Dog Smell, which did not smell like Nice Fluff Tango Pup or Weird Outdoor Dog(s), but it was too faint to spell any actual new friend possibilities. Still, maybe next time there might be both treats and new friends????? Guy let out a 'meurph' of optimistic satisfaction and did his best to get helpfully between Claire's feet.

In the living room, Cesc let out a laugh at Lorin's insistence, nodding. "Yeah, but I'm happy to take you and your sister and Mama to some places where you can meet lotsa people before your bedtime," said Cesc. "Like our bakery, maybe? There are a lot of people and Raevans there during the day. Much nicer."

He grinned at Cadi then, shrugging. "Don't ask for demons. We've got plenty of those who wouldn't mind coming out now and then, you know. You may have met them on New Years, now that I think of it..."" He smiled, leaning forward. "Well, not that I know how fond they are of gross, bitter drink."

Claire smiled at the catsune between her feet as she shuffled through the kitchen, pouring refreshments. She had set glasses out on the counter in anticipation of the visit, saving her from having to travel too far between cupboard and fridge. Pitcher in hand, she laughed down to Guy Smiley, "I'll get you a treat in just a moment, hang tight." As she poured the drinks, she thought about going for the dog treats they kept for Misha during his visits, but no, he wasn't a catsune. What should she give him?

Lorin's round-eyed gaze was on Cesc as he seemed to offer him the world. He had already met so many wonderful faces, but to go to where a bunch of them went regularly, and owned by his newest friend? The small Frei could barely contain his delight. "You got a bakery?" Bakeries, whenever they went shopping, were always those places tucked into the corner of the grocery store that felt warm and welcoming, and everything looked eye-catching (although the smells did nothing for him personally unless bitters were used in the recipe). His fingers flexed on the edges of the coloring book. "I wanna go. I wanna see all these lotsa people and Raevans, too!"

"I'm glad you're so social, buddy," Cadi complimented with a chuckle, and Lorin beamed and turned away to leaf through his coloring book, in order to point out more of his favorite recent pieces to Cesc. Meanwhile the girl laughed at the stag Sigel's last statement and lowered her tone, devilish smile all the while. "Gross it may be, but it burns so good." Tequila certainly was a hell of a thing. She took another draw from her glass - all the talk of the bar made her thirsty - contemplating what he had said before. "I mostly saw a few from a distance, but otherwise nah, I didn't really meet many when I was there, just Aina and another Raevan sitting in our group. Oh, and Amity, but I knew her before the party." She shrugged.

"I love Ammy," Lorin said decidedly as he leafed through the pages in his coloring book, and Cadi smirked, ruffling his hair affectionately.

"Rhedefre?" Claire's head poked out of the kitchen, smile apologetic. "What kind of treats can Guy have? I just want to make sure I don't give him anything that he couldn't handle." Lorin straightened in his seat, the coloring book pressed to his chest, eyes bright and excited.

"Can I give him a treat, too?" He gasped, then looked between Cesc and his mama pleadingly. Just for good measure, he also looked imploringly at Cadi, who laughed anew at the inclusion.
