At what point do you consider something NSFW?
Do you like making things like that?
Why do you think it's 'not safe for web' when nearly everything on the web is adult rated?

Doesn't it stand for "not safe for work", so if you're at work you know not to click on it because it's somewhat dirty? xD

If something shouldnt be clicked on while at work, I am glad they have those warnings.
NSFW=Not Safe for Work

So yes very important for when you are at work.

Or at the parents...or somewhere where you dont want people to see the other things you like XD

NSFW means Not Safe For Work xD I've never heard it mean 'web,' that kind of defeats the purpose like you said lol

NSFW indications are useful, but honestly, I don't run into that problem because I usually don't watch/view content that I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing anyway.

As far as what makes it NSFW, usually cursing is an indicator (although I think that's silly), then obviously nudity or controversial topics could also deem worthy of a NSFW tag.

For me a lot of NSFW is just things of sexual nature that shouldn't be shared with mixed company if you think/know they wouldn't mind it.
