Evangeline sat with the other Freshlings and quickly ate her dinner. It had been a long day of hard play in the sun, and quite hot for the little Fallen Neko because of the water. Pure and simply put- she was afraid of it. She wasn't used to SO MUCH of the stuff. It was terrifying. So she had sat in the sun or under the beach umbrellas and sort of kept to herself while the others played in the tide.

But now that she was done with dinner she was filled with renewed energy, the sun was just starting to set, things were cooling off, and the Older kids were building a fire. So feeling curious Evangeline set off, thinking to maybe find some Firewood or a seashell.

A lone figure against the setting sun she wandered down the beach. Tide was going out so there was more beach then there had been before, and explored farther down the tideline- enjoying the cooling sand on her paws. She began to kick the sand as she walked, sending it up in little sprays ahead of her.

*THUNK* "OUCH!" *THUD* "Mewl" Evangeline had kicked something in the sand, tripped, and now lay sprawled over the top of whatever it was...... Pushing herself up she looked- it was a half burried chest in the sand!

Before she could investigate the thing she had found further, a voice called out ot her from down the beach. With a slight hiss and a jump Evangeline spun around, her tail poofing out a bit with her startlement. Looking down the beach in the fading light she saw a lone Kirin Freshling following her. Seeing nothing ot be alarmed at she assumed a more normal posture. smoothing down her ruffled wings with an unconcious paw. "Y-yeah, I'm fine!" She called back.

With a small side step she put herself in front of the chest and politely waited for the other to come close enough to talk without yelling. "H- hi~" Evangeline peered closely at the Freshling, it was someone she had seen around the Academy perhaps, but never spoken to at all. "Did you need something?" She asked as the wind from the surf made her fold her wings in closer to keep from overbalancing.

Evangeline watched as the other Freshling came closer, her wings fluttering slightly in the breeze off the ocean. She was gently bitting her lower lip, her ears radaring this way and that to catch all the sounds and sort them out.

At the others words she shook her head slightly " No, not....hurt....."

She trailed off as the Kirin looked around her feet to see the half buried object.

"I didn't just bury it, I literally found it by falling over it......but well..... " The neko/fallen was clearly struggling with something, her tails lashing back and forth with indecision.

"Its not mine, but it IS something I found....and I want to open it! I want to know whats inside it!......but its not mine " She finished glumly.

Looking around she could see they were all alone just above the surf- clearly it didn't belong to anyone around.....

Shyly she peeked at the other and almost whispered " Wanna help me open it?!?" Curiosity had suffused her being, she was fairly vibrating with the need to KNOW what was concealed.
