He'd woken up late again. It was getting later and later through the days as he found himself wandering later into the evening. Luckily school was getting closer to the end and his teachers had been ignoring his tardiness. Today was a day off, luckily, and when he had finished rolling out of bed he was out to walk the town, feeling that his wallet was light and he might be able to find some extra if he could find a sucker somewhere.
Due to the light wallet he found himself walking around town, looking around through the haze of sleepiness. He managed to get around a large park, wandering through it with his hands in his pockets, ready to phone it in. "Not as many people out..." He did mutter and glance to the people nearby, playing sports, and the children far off on a playground.
He grabbed at the back of his head and slipped down onto a bench. At least he managed to get outside this time. Yet, he was alone and looked weird in the park full of people. "Now what..." He exhaled, rubbing his eyes with his hand.SSBrosB Hope that's okay! Sorry it took a little bit~

Unfortunately for Tom, the soccer fields had been taken over by some of the younger city teams for the day and that had made him move somewhere else to practice. Although there were plenty of places, the problem tended to be other people. Often times if he didn’t find the right place, he would have kids running into him or people rudely crossing over into the space he was using, despite there being 50 feet of space all around him that they could otherwise use. People tended to respect the soccer fields better for some reason.
So here he was at the park and it seemed that most of the people here seemed to also be practicing sports, though not just soccer. This was a good sign, as he probably wouldn’t be interrupted, though he would have to keep an eye out for the football players. They tended to throw the ball anywhere they wanted and liked to keep an eye on it while refusing to look where they were going.
So he was now in the park practicing some dribbling and some ball kicks so that he could more accurately kick it and pass it to other players.

Eithan was staring blankly to the point he could no longer tell how far things were, or how close. The bouncing noise of the ball against feet didn't immediately reach his ears. The past few nights were all he could think about, from losing targets to finding nothing. Late nights with homework he hadn't even cared about in the first place. It was tedious if anything, he wanted to get back to doing what he thought was important. Gambling. Watching movies. Doing his other work.
His eyes moved slowly over the nearby grass, looking over to the nearby athletes with an unamused look on his face. "Damn guys, how the hell do they have so much energy all the time?" He asked himself, pushing off the bench to walk nearby, his eyes looking over at the football players as he walked.
Eithan was preoccupied so he didn't notice that he'd walked onto the grass, closest to a lone soccer player. He didn't even notice that the ball was steadily getting closer to him. SSBrosB Oh gosh I just realized this didn't quote correctly >>;;

Tom was too preoccupied to notice the intruder of his practice. Yes it was a public park but one risked getting hit with some sort of stray sports ball if they wandered too close. Except for perhaps golf, but you would have to be crazy to practice that here.
So Tom was currently bouncing the ball up and down a bit, moving to catch it again with one of his legs, trying to get some better coordination. However, he kicked too high this time and so the ball started to move off quite a bit away from him. This would have been fine if he was just practicing on one of the soccer fields, but as he was in the park, it could possibly hit some innocent bystander.
And unfortunately that’s what it looked like it was about to do. Tom watched in horror as the ball started its descent towards a guy who seemed… out of it to say the least. But that wasn’t important right now. Tom could barely get the words of warning out. “Watch out!”

The "watch out" seemed slowed, from another place far away...
THUNK!
"WHAT THE-!" Eithan sat on the ground where he was, rubbing his head and hissing in pain, looking around the park at the culprit. The ball moved nearby and he put his leg over it to keep it hostage, glancing towards the owner with a glare as he slowly got up, putting his foot on the ball and rubbing at what was going to become a lump on his head.
"This thing yours?!" He called to the stranger, staring where Tom was with a hand over the sore spot. Somehow the "watch out" began to make sense and he let out a sigh. Out of all the places I could go I happen to walk into the only falling soccer ball in the park?

Tom flinched a bit as he watched the ball collide with the guy’s head, just imagining the pain the other was feeling. He ran over to the guy hoping that he wasn’t hurt too bad. It hadn’t knocked the man out so at least it wasn’t a possible concussion.
“Sorry, accidentally bounced it too high and it got away from me. I can go get some ice for your head if you want?” It would take a while of course, though maybe he could let the guy use his water bottle right now, it might be cool enough still. The guy seemed mad though, but that may have just been from getting hurt. Hopefully Tom’s soccer ball would get back to him in one piece.

"Uggghhhhh...." He let out the long grumble and looked back. "Naw, it's fine." He said with a small growl of obscenities to himself and he kicked the ball back up towards him. Eithan was sizing the guy up, seemed like a decent guy and by the look on his face it seemed he was genuinely sorry. Don't break his face, don't break his face... The teen thought to himself as his pale blue eyes looked back up at him.
Then an idea hit him.
"Maybe not ice, but this headache might go away if I had something to eat. Probably not the best idea to press his luck with a complete stranger, but Eithan was always looking for a score of some sort. Even if that "score" was something from a park food cart. He grinned. "Either way, I guess you got a nice kick on you, huh? Lemme guess, you on a team?"

Tom sighed internally. At least the guy was all right. Well mostly, he seemed pretty pissed off still. He rolled his eyes a bit at the mention of getting a free meal. There were always problems with that. Either the person would say they would sue if they didn’t get the meal or after getting the meal would expect still more favors.
Luckily though Tom’s family could hire enough lawyers to fight any suit threats and he had quite the steel spine in refusing to give into people’s demands. But, this guy didn’t seem too bad. And Tom had enough money. If the guy insisted upon the meal Tom would pay for it, he had enough money, but he would warn that it would be the only thing gotten for getting bonked on the head.
Tom smiled a bit back at the guy. “Only the university’s team and that’s just for fun. Certainly not planning on majoring in sports. I’m Tom by the way.” He didn’t want to keep addressing the guy as “guy” in his head after all. “Any particular reason you’ve been wandering where a soccer ball might fall?”

"Eithan." He nodded at him. Sizing him up wasn't going according to plan and he could sense a little hesitation there. He wouldn't push it, but he did start losing plans for a ramen bowl and more for a corndog, if he could find the vendor. "Eh? Me?" He blinked and had to think.
"Honestly? I was looking for trouble and ended up in the park. Guess trouble found me, right Tom?" Eithan laughed and shook his head. It wasn't far from the truth, but trying to say Find someone to win a bet off of to a complete stranger probably wasn't going to go well either. "Got a little off track since I didn't find anything here to do either. Didn't want to hang around my dorm all day anyways."
He straightened his body and looked back. "University huh? Dunno why but I thought you were younger for some reason. I don't know anything about majors but you could probably bean people like that pretty well. So maybe one of those gladiator shows could be your thing?" Eithan grinned at him. He wouldn't be winning a bet off of him, but he could still have some fun. Didn't seem like a bad guy either.

Tom chuckled a bit at “Eithan’s” joke. “Well, I bet you attract a lot of trouble don’t you?” This kid seemed like he could be a magnet for it. He nodded at the mention of a dorm room. Sure, Tom had his own apartment, but on such a nice day like this it was hard to stay inside, even if you didn’t know what you wanted to do when you got out.
“Well, I’ve been told I look young sometimes. I think it’s the lack of any sort of facial hair or something.” Though his father at age 45 looked like he was still in his 30s, perhaps it was genetics. “So if I may ask, how old are you then? You look pretty young yourself.” He figured the guy was a teenager, but looks could be deceiving.
He shrugged his shoulders a bit. “Well, maybe if it had something to do with leg coordination. Not as good with my arms as I am with using my legs. Sounds like a fun idea though.” He couldn’t imagine putting himself on TV though. Publicity was something he wanted to avoid. “Well, what else do you do other than go around looking for trouble?” If they were learning about each other might as well ask.

"All the time." Eithan grinned and he stared back at him again. "17." He crossed his arms and stared at his legs. "Yeah..." There was a glance made to his own leg and he snapped back up to him. "Eh? Me? A bit of this, a bit of that. I like to play games like uh... arcade games. Yeah." It wasn't entirely a lie, but his games usually involved cards and money and nothing legal, especially given his age.
But all of that wasn't about to be told to this stranger.
"Well I'd watch it. If I watched TV really." That wasn't a lie at all. With his late night runs and money seeking adventures there wasn't really time for anything. But here he was anyways. "A guy like you probably doesn't either, not with calf muscles like that." Eithan said, deflecting back to the guy and inching closer to him.
"I didn't forget about you hittin' me on the head though. How about a corndog and we call it square, huh?" He flashed that bright smile again, but there was nothing innocent about it. Usually was that way when he wanted something. "Or I could take your ball again." He looked back at it again with a smirk.

Tom gave a slight smirk back to him. Well, Eithan wasn’t too much younger than himself, though he seemed to be quite the troublemaker. “Well, that and cable really doesn’t have anything on worth watching nowadays anyway. Not when you can watch everything on the internet.” Most of what he watched tended to be on the internet and the few movie discs he had around his apartment.
Tom visibly rolled his eyes and sighed a bit this time. At least it was just a corndog. That sounded good even though it was a terrible type of food. “Well, I could just buy another ball if you took this one, but I’ll get you a corndog.” He had enough money on him, though he would make sure the kid couldn’t see it. Even though they were getting along now he was suspicious that if he wasn’t careful then he might find his wallet lighter than he wanted.
He started to gather his stuff together, his wallet stuffed in his bag so at least he would hear if something bad was going on. And he could just nail the kid again if he did catch him running off with his wallet. After gathering his stuff and putting his bag on his shoulder he looked back at Eithan. “Well, If you want it this badly you must be hungry right now. Might as well and go get it.”

Eithan caught the roll of the eyes but it was already sunk and he grinned. "Yeah, but that'd be a lot more problematic. Finding a ball that's the right shape and size." He smirked again and watched him gather is stuff. "Well you did hit me square on the head. If the mind is empty might as well fill the stomach." And not my wallet. Some sourness remained over the fact that Tom was no easy mark and he slowly walked with him towards the row of food carts near the park.
"Y'know. I don't actually get out to this park this much. I'm never up before I need to be, and that's maybe class and then some fun at night." He slipped a little information to him, but nothing he deemed worth anything. After all, wasn't he just the example of innocent teen?
The sarcasm hurt in his own head and he turned, walking backwards to look back at Tom again. "So if you're at the university does it mean you're an egghead? Or just real patient?" He paused, gathering his thoughts. "I don't think I have the patience for more school, but you probably already figured that out." Behind him he could smell the food and his stomach gave a gentle roar to show his hunger. Guess I really am hungry... Eithan smacked at his stomach a few times to hush it.
"Anyway..." He trailed off, craning his neck to look back at the carts, his eyes settling on a white, red and yellow card for corndogs. "There it is."

I don’t think he understands how soccer balls work. Tom thought as he lifted an eyebrow back at the kid. If all the balls were different, it would be very hard to play in games where the ball size wasn’t the same. But oh well, seems the kid wasn’t into sports, not that Tom was either, just soccer.
He sighed and shook his head a bit, but followed the guy as he wandered toward the food stands. Tom shrugged his shoulders when Eithan told him of his few visits to the park. “I like to come here to read and get some sunshine. But I sometimes stay up a bit wandering around. Though I’m more of an early riser than a late one.” He did go out more at night now that he was an agent but he still didn’t like to stay up late if he could help it. His cats had gotten him used to waking up earlier though he got quite tired in the afternoon if he didn’t do some sort of exercise.
“Well, considering that I want to be a doctor, I kind of have to be an egghead and be patient. It’s an annoying combo sometimes.” He replied, smiling a bit. “Have to get used to annoying patients after all.”
He nodded his head in acknowledgement at seeing the cart and walked over to it. “Well, I do need to know what you want on this meat mixture.” He would get one himself, but as his practice had been interrupted already, he didn’t feel too bad about eating now. He would just go back to his apartment after this.

Eithan stared back at him curiously, putting his hands up behind his head as he tried to think about it. "Ah. Well, I'm more active at night." He continued to stare back at him with a smirk. "Annoying like me or...?" The teen trailed on but he quickly moved up towards the cart.
It was like he was a different person when it came to food, his eyes almost sparkling with joy as he glanced over at him. "Plain with ketchup." He shrugged his shoulders. That was true though, he did like a lot plain foods. There was also a time and place to muck things up with particularities, so this time he didn't want to bother.
Not when he was getting a free meal.
"Whaddya like on your corn dogs?" He stared at him curiously. Can tell a lot from someone with what they like on food. Eithan paused curiously and coughed. "Thanks by the way. Not for the ball but, for this." And he was done, and not likely to repeat the thanks either, awkwardly grabbing at the back of his head and petting his own hair. SSBrosB Yeah he knows nothing about soccer LOL
