Machholz was patrolling after her delicious lunch of waffles with her new found friend. The woman was in a pretty good mood. She didn't have a girlfriend anymore, but in all honesty it was probably a good thing.

She landed on top of Crystal Academy and just let out a sigh. She was out of high school for two or three years now and she missed the simple days of only having to worry about what accessories to wear with her school uniform or if she copied the right person's homework. Now... now she had to worry about death and broken bones, new scars, her job, bills and all that.

"Oh Crystal," she murmured, sitting down with her legs dangling off the building, smiling. It was a good thing being a senshi helped her get over her fear of heights.

Newgrange was feeling a little more alive; he had been overcome by a strange fatigue and lethargy, but for the first time in a while, things seemed like they might be looking up for him. He was chasing a youma—a stupid little thing that had terrorized some woman but he'd been able to chase it off before it could do any damage.

He'd made good progress on chasing it—until it just up and disappeared. The Squire of Earth was not without complete loss, though: his radar informed him that there was still Chaos around, even if the youma was presently eluding him.

He tried to reason that with that threat out of the way, it was safe to move on to the next one—an energy signature near a school was probably never a good thing.

It didn't take him long to find the senshi; he made his way to the roof but kept his distance before warily calling out, "What are you doing up here?"

It probably wasn't nice to sneak up on a lady—especially not one who didn't seem up to any immediate trouble, but he had learned that Chaos was not always what it seemed, and it was better to be cautious and make the first move before they took you by surprise.

An energy signature popped onto her radar and Machholz sighed and slowly got to her feet by the time she felt the signature getting close. Then came the voice and the Dark Mirror Senshi turned around to look at him, with her golden eyes narrowed, and lips pursed.

"Whatever I want," came her reply, looking dainty and small despite the scar showing on her face. "What's a knight doing all alone? You don't know that there are senshi out there who could hurt you?" She crooned at him now, putting her hands together and against her chest, leaning forward. "People want to hurt your pretty little face. I don't understand why the Order side really goes out anymore."

The possessive thoughts were gone, but she had whispers every now and then that there was no such thing as a decent Ordrer aligned individual.

"This is an all girls school, so you should just.." She made shooing motions with her hand.

The girl looked dainty, and while Newgrange wasn't one to stereotype, he wasn't entirely sure he should be afraid right now. "Lots of things could hurt me. A car could hit me any time, but that doesn’t stop me from going out, either. I don't know why anyone would want to hurt my face, I've been trying to stay out of trouble. I'm going to guess you can say the same?" he prompted; he didn't sound hostile, but he was already on edge.

"…Or are you up here looking for trouble?"

A school was an easy target—and while this girl hadn't seemed to be up to anything, it didn't mean she wasn't planning on it.

She stepped closer to him, trying to keep her air of innocents up with this one. "I don't know... But you.." Machholz wandered closer and then sent a kick flying out at him. "Should leave!"

How dare a man step foot on Crystal Academy! Her white and green hair went flying around as she tried to force him back, tried to force him off of the building. This was her school. Men didn't belong here unless they were teachers, and even then, Machholz wasn't very comfortable with male teachers. "Get out of my school!"

Newgrange stumbled backwards, surprised by the kick. He avoided it, barely, and held his hands up as he backed off a bit.

"I'm not here to cause any trouble, I want nothing to do with the school," he said defensively. "I had to make sure you weren't doing anything or trying to hurt anyone!"

His hand balled into a fist at his side, like he was ready to attack back but was restraining himself, even as she was forcing him back. "If you've got such a problem, why don't we both leave?"

…Except, not over the side of the building. He was seriously close to falling off and though he didn't want to attack, at the risk of falling to his death (or at least a few broken bones), he shoved back, trying to knock her off her feet to buy him a few seconds.

She didn't actually expect the push. For some reason, a simple shove like that threw her off guard and she fell on her a** and let out a loud noise before she scrambled to get back to her feet. Her toosh was rubbed and she huffed at him.

"Excuse me, that was rude. Don't you know you shouldn't shove a lady?" Gold eyes narrowed again as she tried to rush him again.

"Be a man and fight me if you're not going to leave!" Machholz hadn't even introduced herself, and yet she was starting to demand a fight already. "I'm not leaving. This was my school."

"I don't think a lady starts a fight!" Newgrange replied; this time he didn't try to doge. Instead, he intercepted the rush and tried to use brute force to stop her from pushing him over the edge.

"Calm down! I'm not here to start trouble! I wanted to make sure you weren't planning on attacking this school! If you're not, I don't have much reason to stay, so stop attacking! I'll leave, as long as you're not going to hurt anyone here, all right?"

…At least, she seemed protective of the school. She wanted to defend it. Which meant, perhaps, she'd keep the people who did want to hurt it away.

Newgrange didn't want to hurt it; he had never had a desire to be at Crystal, and he was more than happy to step away as long as it felt like he was doing the right thing.

When he said, one more time, that he wasn't here to start trouble, the DMC stepped back and glared at him. She didn't trust him, and yet she was listening to him. Machholz just rubbed a hand over her arm and nodded before squinting at him hard.

"Okay. I'm not here to start trouble, but... You leave first." She motioned him, making a shooing motion with her hand that seemed dainty and hurried. "Go and then I'll go. ...And I guess I'm sorry for trying to kick you."

Newgrange watched warily for a moment, but was moving towards the edge of the building. "All right," he said slowly, and hoped that he wasn't making some negligent mistake. "…I'm sorry for intruding. I hadn't meant any harm. But I'm going now, so you take it easy."

His brows were knit in slight confusion; everything had happened so fast that he was still reeling, trying to figure out what actually went on, and what he was agreeing to do.

"Maybe we'll meet again. Under better circumstances."

…But perhaps it was best if they didn't.

"Night," he said, and stepped over the edge of the building.

He kept his promise; the energy signature faded, and then disappeared a moment later.
