Orcus had stopped by her apartment only long enough to grab cash, cards and a couple changes of clothing. Anything else could be taken care of once she was sure that her cousin, the Negaverse officer, wasn’t going to suddenly teleport into her living room. Fortunately, she still had her wallet and keys. Or she would once she powered down.

Which brought up an interesting problem. Where could she go that was safe? Not to her aunt and uncle’s. Nor her own parents as they were currently on a trip around the world. Besides, Alodie knew where their house was and would doubtless check it. For a moment, Orcus lost the thin veil of composure that she’d been clinging to and sank to the floor, shaking. Her cousin was part of the Negaverse. Her cousin had been more than willing to give her over to her superior officers to try and force her to be one of them. Her cousin had a monster somehow living inside of her.

Her cousin had vowed to kill her.

Orcus buried her face in her hands and moaned a little. This was all too much to take in. A creaking noise brought her back to herself and she finished stuffing the backpack she’d grabbed. For now, she could go to a hotel and simply ask the staff to not tell anyone who might come calling that she was there. Let them think she was a battered woman and trying to escape an abusive relationship. They’d be half-right. Giggling a little from shock and the idea that anyone could ever try to lord it over her, Orcus finished packing and threw herself through the mirror that hung on the back of her bedroom door. Doubtless Alodie would smash it if she found it. But that was what keys and locksmiths were for.

She aimed herself towards the theater department that was on campus. There were plenty of places she could safely power down while there. And campus was crowded enough that she should be able to blend in and find her way to a hotel without anyone seeing her. It was only then that she found herself regretting her vicious and anti-social ways. Otherwise, she might’ve had friends in the Dark Mirrors willing to temporarily host her.

Or hell, she’d have considered trying to call Nereid if it weren’t for that whole, pesky Chaos/Order thing. If it was bad enough to have a couple of Negaverse officers knowing who she was, it would be worse to add a White Moon senshi into that ******** reached her destination mirror and popped out, checking the area carefully to make certain there wasn’t anyone around, then powered down with a sigh. With the loss of her powered form, Melian felt her whole body begin to shake from reaction and stress. As best she could, she clamped down on herself, promising that if she made it to the hotel safely, she could have a breakdown then.

Once she decided that she was calm enough to not bring any undue attention to herself, she left the campus and headed for the first nice hotel she could think of offhand.

And once she was checked in and in her room, she carefully locked the doors and pulled the blinds to block out the outside world. Then, she drew a hot bath and sank into it. It was only then that she let herself cry.
