Tom was getting better at this it seemed as he walked on the sidewalk, hat on his head and looking around for anyone who was alone and could be drained. Since moving onto well, almost anyone as a possible target, he had been getting some praise in getting his energy quotas in on time. He still wasn’t able to get multiple targets at a time though, but that would require more training anyway.

The night felt good as he walked along, looking up to see the moon already in the sky. He wondered if he should take a camping trip out into the country a bit so he wouldn’t be distracted by the city lights. They really did obscure what could really be seen. He sometimes wondered what it would have been like in the past without all of this modern day stuff and having to live completely off of the land. But the moon also seemed to be giving off more warning signals to him and he was starting to welcome the blue moon more now. He wondered if it could have been the chaos influence in him.

Well, he needed to focus on the task at hand anyway. He was looking for another target to drain and it was the perfect night to do it. Not too cool or hot and no high humidity either. If it wasn’t for the bugs he would probably have slept on his apartment porch.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw someone duck into an alleyway behind a restaraunt. He wasn’t sure if it was a regular human or… something else and so followed after it at a pace that didn’t make him look suspicious. Looking into the alleyway he saw what seemed to be a homeless man rummaging through the trash. Well… with his energy drained he wouldn’t need to find any food for a while right? Tom, as quietly as he could, powered up into his negaverse agent form.

All right, sorry if that's a terrible beginning XD

The rooftops were his favorite vantage point. He'd gotten only a little better at diving on people, but it was still the element of surprise that he got a rush from. Granted... this was only going to be his second time trying it, and the first time he had the General around to help him afterward. He never wanted another night like that, and so here he was, staring down at an unsuspecting man.

"Like shootin' fish in a barrel." The teen grinned and he quickly powered up again, staring down at the man over the trashcan. There was a glint in his pale blue eyes. It sure as hell ain't gonna be like last time, that's for sure. He thought. This time it was all him. Gather the energy and don't screw it up.

Not so hard, right?

With a swift movement he jumped from the rooftop, ready to land on his prey but something, or rather someone else distracted him momentarily and he landed in the nearby pile of trash bags. "Dammit!" He shouted, rolling until he got out, fixing up his outfit and glancing back.

"Looks like I'm getting more bang for my buck then." He said through gritted teeth, staring back to the poor homeless man and at whatever else was lurking in the hallway. This time he was going to prove he didn't need help.

Arsenopyrite was quite surprised at the sudden object and subsequent crash that happened, and both he and the man looked at each other quickly before looking to the source of the crash. He recognized the signature of a negaverse agent and that was confirmed after the agent rolled out of the trash bags he had landed in and then fixed himself up a bit. Great, they were both after the same target then. Great, now he had competition and he wasn’t willing to let go of this target. It had turned out to be difficult to find a target tonight that was alone. Everyone he had seen beside the man had been with someone else.

“Hey, I had this guy first!” He noticed movement in the corner of his eye and managed to speed past the man to the other side of the alleyway, trapping the homeless man. “You aren’t going anywhere.”

Altaite's gaze adjusted and he stared at the other negaverse lieutenant. "Who the hell-" The words didn't get out as he rushed past him. "Oye!" He called. "Oh no you don't!" There was a dart of his legs, though a dull pain in the one he had previously broken. He let out a small hiss of pain but stood his ground, staring at him and moving close by him.

"I had this first so why don't you lay off!" Despite this being the first negaverse lieutenant he'd seen ever, he wasn't going to give him mark without a fight. He doubted that General Benitoite would care, as long as the energy was gotten, right?

Altaite pushed his hands together, cracking a few knuckles. "How about you do this the easy way, bub?"

Arsenopyrite huffed a bit as the other agent challenged them. Well, this agent certainly tried to seem intimidating cracking his knuckles, but perhaps that was a bluff. He couldn’t assume that though, most agents were chosen because of their fighting abilities and that had not been the case for him.

He decided if they needed to fight this out he might as well summon his weapon. The cane appeared in his hand soon after the decision was made. Sure, it wouldn’t do that much but it wouldn’t hurt right? “Actually, I saw him first, moving into the alleyway and followed him. I would rather not fight it out if possible, so if you could just get on your way...”

Altaite felt his head tilt, staring at him as the weapon was summoned. ..s**t why does he get something useful...? His fingers wiggled, thinking it over but he could hear his General's warning in his head. Screw it. Child scissors weren't exactly something to brag home about. He shook his head and grinned back at the other.

"I don't back down from anybody! Even if you're supposed to be an ally, I'm here to do what I need to do. So how about you put your stick away and we settle this like men should?" He was trying to assess him, but since the guy in the bows and ribbons beat him last time with a wall, he wasn't about to underestimate him.

Arseno looked at the other agent and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm find with the stick thank you." He kept taking quick peeks at the homeless man who seemed to be standing there in shock now. "We can fight it out if you want to, though I'm not sure our superiors will take lightly that they have fighting in-rank. He was my target first." Sure, this was time that they were wasting at this point that he could spend finding someone else to drain, but he had already been at it for an hour and was pretty sure he had some nice mosquito bites to prove it.

"I don't see your name on him, friend." Now he was getting irritated, staring at him and his cane, a pang of jealousy as he looked back to the man, grinning back to him again. "Ain't gonna matter when one of us walks away with his starseed, right?" He twitched, while he was used to running his mouth he was getting annoyed and moved quickly towards him, sending a jab of his hand towards him.

"All we gotta see is who gets to deliver it!" He shouted as he moved to ram into him.

Arseno glared back at him at the mention of taking the man’s starseed. He may be a negaverse agent, but he thought they encouraged stealing energy more than starseeds, but he wasn’t surprised that a guy like this was a negaverse agent. Arseno himself had been forcibly recruited after all and wasn’t the greatest believer of the negaverse or the agent himself.

He had just planned to steal the man’s energy. This other agent was practically giving the homeless man a guaranteed death sentence. He would have to find a way to be the winner in this battle. He was surprised however at the sudden movement of the other agent and dodged just in time to avoid being attacked though hitting one of the walls in the alleyway while doing so.. He wasn’t really sure how to react to this so he tried to grab the other man’s arm. What he would do if he caught it he didn’t know.

Altaite was used to scraps. Fighting was part of him, as the scar on his forehead showed, but it was never anything that could be described as precise. It was messy, as seen now when he tried to get at the other lieutenant. "Tch." He missed, that was certain but now he made himself vulnerable. Altaite felt the grasp coming his way and twisted to move it... falling over in the process. s**t! He hopped back up and glared at him, focusing his pale eyes on him again.

"We ain't gonna get anywhere like this..." He muttered and put his fists back up, still wary of the others' weapon as he stared into his eyes. Though the other wore a mask on his face, at least he could see his eyes. Something in that gaze was wavering, but not the determination for the target. That was something the two lieutenants shared and he grunted, staring back to the homeless man again and to his opponent.

What mattered more? Getting the energy? The starseed? Proving himself to his General?

Altaite let out an audible grunt. "So, if you ain't going to leave it, we're in for a pretty long night."

Arseno couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the other agent. It seemed they had something in common, tripping while trying to fight. He smiled a bit under his mask, though not in a mocking smile, though he guessed that the other agent would probably get pretty p***** at him for laughing a bit. Oh well.

"Looks like we are. I'm just trying to fill my quota here. I'm sure you can go off and do that yourself. We don't need to fight over this target." He hoped that the energy drain, NOT the starseed taking as that wouldn't be happening, would help the target to lose his memory, though if he did tell anyone about it they might just think he was crazy. He held his cane in one hand, getting back into a fighting position. "I am not going to back down."

Altaite had to appreciate the tenacity, though at the moment he was too annoyed to think about it and he grunted again while he got back into a fighting position. "Fine, if that's how it's gonna be." He gave a sinister smirk to him. "It ain't about the target now though, is it?" He felt it was going to be more like a grudge match at this point, and he was fine with that.

Yet there was a nagging at the back of his mind, something his General had said to him before....

Altaite ignored it and ran at him again, reaching for him to get a punch in, while trying to avoid the cane. Stupid freakin' thing. He was so busy watching it, it narrowed his vision. Why did I end up with plastic scissors?!

Arseno only got lightly hit by the punch, but it was enough to distract him for a bit by the pain. He grunted out as he took a step back from the other agent and took a swing at him with his cane aiming at the other's neck.

Well, even if they weren't supposed to be fighting each other, this was at least good practice for the both of them and it was a good way to know what Arseno was dealing with in the negaverse. He hadn't really seen anything too terrible yet, just gotten into some fights with the other side and some with the negaverse, but he hadn't seen or done anything that somehow convinced him that being forced into all of this was a good thing.

"AH!" He cried out when the cane made contact and he fell again, grabbing at his neck. "Holy hell..." He muttered to himself and glared back again, standing and wiping at his pants before gazing back to his opponent. "Okay, can you just answer a question before it drives me crazy."

His pale blue eyes moved to the cane again.

"How'd you get that?" Altaite pointed at it, he gave a sideways glance to the homeless man who stood in shock, still motionless and he grunted, rubbing the spot on his neck and looking back. "I was told what we got prepares us for later but..." The teen held out his hand and concentrated hard. In a moment his weapon appeared.

If you could even call it a weapon. Rather than something sharp or large or... resembling anything useful, the bright red color of his plastic, child-scissors reflected the low light of the alley. Altaite glared at them and back at the other again. Yeah, he still wanted to beat him and take the mark, but it continued to nag at him.. maybe this other lieutenant knew more than he did.

Arseno shrugged a bit as he looked at the scissors, those could cut quite a bit still if you got the right shot in, and then back to his cane. "Honestly I couldn't tell you. I've sparred with another lieutenant who had a bookmark as their weapon. I think it just depends on the person." It's not like he knew what his weapon would look like as soon as he had been forced to become an agent. He had to practice trying to summon it first and when he got it, that was it.

A cane wasn't that useful anyway, at least against those who had better weapons/magic than you. And it had only proven to be a bit useful in spars against other lieutenants so far. Knights and senshi were harder with their magic.

"General Benitoite helped me to summon it, though I don't believe he specifically helped me to get a cane, just that it was naturally my starting weapon." He himself had hoped for something... better, but it seemed as though lieutenants were supposed to rely more on fighting skill than on weaponry, which was hard for someone like him.
