It was another one of those days... : C Well. One of those few days where Beringia wasn't patrolling because he was focusing on school work. Sedna was left to her own devices, and thus had spent some of her evening dusting some youma and stopping some low level lieutenants from energy snatching. Her evening adventures had ended up putting her in a more...run down section of the city. More particularly, what appeared to be an abandoned mall. ... Spooky. Being a super leveled senshi totally meant abusing her abilities to traverse this interesting find, and she wasted no time in ripping off one of the boards plastered to one of the glass doors to enter. Moonlight streamed in through the glass panels on the ceiling, and she could easily make out all the wreckage and debris and rot. Really creepy. It actually was reminding her of the carnival she'd been kidnapped and taken to. Sedna shuddered, and reached up to rub her arms through her coat vigorously. Her expression twisted briefly, but she was far too curious to not continue. It was really eerie. Store signs still hung up, if not some falling and shattered here and there---and there were still pieces of furniture around too... Water puddles, stains...she strolled down one of the wings of the mall, wincing a bit at how loud the click of her boot heels seemed to echo.

Remus's habit of exploring while on duty had led him to the outskirts of the city, in the lesser inhabited, more decrepit edges where the homeless were prevalent and the buildings all looked as though they had spent years going through a washing machine.
The last time that Remus had been exploring had been with Cassie, and that had resulted in him being made a senshi. But he was not a civilian now, and he was technically on patrol, though it had been about an hour or two and Remus still hadn't come across anyone or anything out of the ordinary.
The mall was enormous; the floor echoed beneath his feet, and Remus felt slightly in awe of how everything looked this late at night, with the shadows stretching eerily across the once glossy tiles and the storefronts with their haunted, empty spaces, some still with shelves, some even more with bits of merchandise left behind, long abandoned to nature.
There was a clicking noise - and another aura, stronger than his, coming somewhere from above. Remus glanced around, eyes narrowed, and crept towards the escalator. It was clearly no longer functioning, but he began to climb up its still steps, slowly and carefully wondering what he would find on the second floor.

Sedna paused as the aura blipped onto her radar, blinking. Huh! She wasn't at all worried, since the aura was Order, much less a level lower than her's. Excitement suddenly course through her at the thought it was Beringia, coming to join her, but just as quickly as it came, it went. No way would he be out on a day he said he wouldn't be. Duh. Plus, how would he know where she was? He'd have to call her. Aww. Still, she was curious, and found excitement in that curiosity. She spun on her heel, and started to make her way in the direction of the aura. She reached the end of the hall, where a giant pair of escalators stood frozen. Sedna approached the rail of the landing, gingerly placing her hands on it, but not her weight, lest it collapse suddenly, and looked. Ah! Her expression brightened at the new face, but from his uniform shape and the colors she could pick out in the moonlight, it was clear to see he was a senshi. "That's the good thing about escalators, right?" She started with a wide grin at the other. "Even when out of order, they're still functional!"

At the top of the escalator a girl came into sight - no, a senshi, though the two were obviously not mutually exclusive. Her signature was just slightly stronger than his own, which meant she was probably a Super - not quite as powerful as the third stages, at least not to Remus's limited knowledge.
But her fuku was white, which meant that she was on their side - and her aura was not the twisted black of Chaos.
"Absolutely," said Remus, with a mock salute to her and a grin. He grasped both sides of the escalator and hopped up the last few steps until he reached her, ignoring the ominous creaking noise they made as he did so. Skidding slightly on the floor, he surveyed the other senshi with a look of curiosity.
"So, what's your story, pirate lady?"

Sedna was grinning, but it faltered at the 'pirate lady'. "Aww! Not you, too!" Her expression turned dismayed as she angled towards him, looking down at her uniform. She then looked up, but focused on the brim of her hat, and let out a hum. "Is it the hat, guy?" She pondered that for a moment, before shaking her head and laughing. "My story, huh?" Her eyes brightened at the choice of words, because she loved stories, and Sedna resumed grinning. "I was out on patrol and dusted some youma and busted some agents, when I wound up in this area! I then found this mall, saw it was abandoned, and really wanted to check it out! I've seen lots of abandoned places on tumblr, yeah!? It's something else to see them in person!" She looked around. "It's pretty spooky! And what's your story, huh?" She looked back at him, and paused for a moment, before she thrust her hand out at him. "Oh! I almost forgot! I'm Sedna, Senshi of Ships!"

He laughed, enjoying the expression on her face. "I can call you something else, if you like," said Remus with a grin as he slipped his hands into his pockets and rocked back on his heels. "What would you prefer? Lady of the Seas? Miss Pirate? Parrot?"
His tone was teasing, Remus's head bobbing in a nod as he listened to her. "My story's totally not as interesting," he said, sounding deliberately melodramatic. "I was out patrolling and got bored, but somehow ended up in this part of town. I love exploring s**t like this, so I came in and, well, here we are."
He laced his fingers together against the back of his head and began to stroll around the place, glancing at the deadened storefronts.
"Oho, so you are a pirate," said Remus, flashing her a teasing look. "Well, Sedna of Ships, I'm Remus of Regolith; we've got ourselves some nice alliteration here."

"Parrot?" She echoed, with a laugh. "Nooooooo~" She shook her head a bit. "Anything but pirate would be great! I'm not going around committing robbery on the high seas!" Sedna grinned still. "Hey, there's nothing wrong with that! We all have to get from Point A to Point B somehow, right?" She moved away from the decrepit railing to follow after the other senshi, and let out a groan. "Noooooooo!" She softly wailed. "Not a pirate---" Sedna then stopped, standing straight up with her shoulders back. She then tucked one of her hands between the buttons of her vest, mimicking a portrait of Napoleon. "I think it's supposed to look more like a seventeenth century British Naval Admiral---I've looked up the style on Google!" After striking that little pose, she continued after the other, laughing again. "I love alliteration! It's nice to meet you, Remus! Say uh---what's Regolith, huh? Sounds fancy---" Sedna started to glance into store fronts, but paused once more, her eyes going wide. "...Oh." She shuddered. "Oh that's really creepy." She pointed into the broken store front glass display, where towards the back of the store, faintly lined by moonlight, there stood a line of pale mannequins. " The stuff people do let's plays on YouTube about." She whispered, as if speaking any louder would attract the mannequins' attention.

"Fine, no pirate themes," Remus said, laughing. "I'll have to figure something else out to call you, or maybe I could just call you Sedna, you know, considering that it's your name and all. Maybe you could be Admiral Sedna of the ships!"
He stopped in front of a particularly decrepit looking storefront, peering through the dark window to see if he could see anything inside. "This looks like it was a shoe store - and regolith is basically moondust," Remus added, straightening and trotting over to where Sedna was standing in front of another store.
"Holy s**t, that is terrifying," he stage whispered back, staring at the mannequins. "Please tell met they're not about to come alive or something like that, because I am so out of here if that happens."

She'd totally take Admiral Sedna, that'd be awesome. "Moondust? Huh! That's very specific, and really cool! Isn't it crazy what people can pool their magic from?" Her eyes were wide as she stared at the mannequins with him. "If they come alive, I'm done. I'm done, I'm out of this mall, I'm out of DC, and I might even be out of the country." She paused for a moment, "And if the Negaverse gets mannequin youma, I'm done times a hundred." Sedna then looked away---but then looked at them a moment later, just to make sure they were still there in the same position. "Yikes---hey, let's go look at some other stuff, yeah!?" She then finally moved away from the spot. "How long have you been a senshi for, huh?" She asked, peering into other store fronts.

"Well, it's not technically moondust, but it's the easiest thing to say," said Remus. "Most people don't know what the hell regolith is - I sure didn't when I first powered up - so I just call it moondust because people get that. It's like stardust or whatever, you know, people can grasp that."
The thought of the Negaverse with mannequin youma made Remus shudder. It was a horrifying thought, to be sure, and he peered suspiciously down the store, hoping that they would just stay still the entire time that he and Sedna were in the mall.
"I'm game for that," he said, sliding after her and stuffing his hands into his pockets again. "Uh, and not that long - like a few months - well, I guess longer than a few, it feels like just yesterday, really."
Remus squinted into a store that looked as though it had once been a bookstore.
"What about you? Been kickin' a** and takin' names for the White Moon long?"

"Oooooooooh. Yeah! I'm going to have to go Google it later, then! Still...that's just so neat." She followed along with him, peering into the store he was as well, and let out a wistful sigh. "Man, what a waste of awesome shelves!" She exclaimed, "I could have put so many things on those if they weren't all rotten and decayed now." Sedna looked over at Remus then, smiling widely. "Yeah, I know what you mean!" The senshi let out a laugh, and shook her head a bit. "Not really sure about the kicking butt thing, but I do what I can!" She beamed at him. "Been a senshi about seven months now!" Her black eyes rolled up to the glass ceiling in thought, double checking her math, but she gave a satisfied nod. "That's pretty puny compared to a lot of other senshi and knights I've been meeting, though! Three, four, five years even! Gosh, I can't even imagine! How's it treating you, huh?"

Remus prodded the bottom of a shelf with the toe of his boot, peering at it with unabashed curiosity. He supposed he should have been more concerned about the whole "breaking-and-entering" thing, but it wasn't like they were here to steal anything. Abandoned places had a certain appeal to them, after all.
(Except for the mannequins.)
"Seven months is a long time," Remus said, with a low whistle. He flashed a grin over at Sedna. "Well, long to me, I mean, since I've hardly been awake that long. But yeah, no kidding, people seem to have been in this thing for years, and here you and I are, brand spankin' new almost."
He gave a shrug of his shoulders, hopping over a discarded plant that had long since died, and slid to the next store - some sort of music place.
"Pretty good, actually, except for the few times it ain't," said Remus, laughing, his eyes twinkling as he looked back at the senshi. "Had a few run-ins that I could have done without, and a few that I could have done with more of. What about you? Get into any trouble or anything with the Negaverse?"

"Nah, not really." Sedna replied dismissively, waving a hand as if to dismiss her pitiful seven months, "But yeah! I'm right there with you, we are pretty brand spankin' new compared to a lot!" The senshi nodded her head eagerly to show she was listening, and that she agreed with that sentiment. "Yeah, that sums it up for me, too, pretty much..." She grimaced. "Before I was magical, I was kidnapped by a bunch of Negaverse agents, and then after I was magical...well...there's been a few...not so great run ins...I got the crap beat out of me one night, and then..." She trailed off for a moment, her eyes lidding, and she looked ashamed. "I almost got me and my partner---umm---sent to an early grave---because I rushed in..." Her brows knitted, and she suddenly spun on her heel to face Remus. "Have you run into any Negaverse agents yet who are like...merged with youma?" He was new, she was curious, and if he hadn't, this was probably a good heads up for him.

"Dude, you were kidnapped?" asked Remus, turning to look back at Sedna, a note of surprise in his tone. "That's crazy. Sorry about that, the Negaverse is a buncha assholes, but I never thought they'd stoop low enough to kidnap people, 'specially civilians."
He shook his head, making a face. "That's rough, man, but I'm glad you got out of it. Your partner doing okay?"
Her question about youma made him raise his brows, Remus frowning slightly.
"Not that I know of. Why, are there actually people like that out there?"

"Y-yeah..." She replied sheepishly, looking off to the side and reaching up to rub the back of her neck. "Not just me though! A whole bunch of civilians...we were taken to this creepy abandoned carnival, held hostage, and told either we join or die." She grimaced. "We were really lucky that some senshi and knights found us..." Sedna trailed off for a moment, but at his question, she nodded her head. "Oh, yeah! He's good! Well, I mean, he was super cross and grumpy at me after---" She smiled with embarrassment, her cheeks dusting a bit red. "But it was a real eye opener. Ever since, him and I have been training four days out of the week, every week, on working with each other and learning tactics!" The senshi kept moving after that, idly looking around now, more focused on the conversation, but wanting to be moving. "Mhm! There really are. The one we ran into, his name is Pyrophanite, and his uniform is a long overcoat, black with red trim, and he wears a black mask covering his eyes, and this fluff on the back---" Sedna made the proper descriptive gestures with her hands. "I'm not sure what...youma merged with him exactly, but he's got scales on his hands...but what's most dangerous is that he shoots out this fog from his mouth, and it paralyzes you. That's what...really got us in trouble." And she was taken back to that time, where she'd been powerless to stop him, and remembered as he beat on Beringia with ruthless abandon. Sedna shuddered, looking a bit more pale, before she snapped to, shaking her head. "So be careful, alright? I'm sure...I'm sure there's more out there!" She laughed a bit. "Great, right? On top of what we already gotta look out for."
