Appearance: Mirai has a very hard face--someone who isn't the easiest to approach, even though she isn't nearly as coarse as she appears to be. Her complexion is unnaturally smooth--narry a single blemish on her body. Her eyes are a strange color of brown that looks black as night ninety percent of the time, but when the light strikes them directly, they look as if they were light brown--the brown color completely illuminating in the light. Mirai gave up her softer, more juvenile looks shortly after her best friend, Kimiko was taken from her. She traded in her overalls, and long hair for a darker, punk-like style, and a short cut with a little bit of color. Kimiko had always told her that she would look good with a short, edgier haircut, but she had never been bold enough to try it. She wears a black crossover bra top, small pieces of her torso showing through the sides, and her lower belly open as well. Over-top of it, she wears a black leather jacket, tailored to fit her perfectly, hugging the curves of her body. She wears it open, most of the time. Her jeans are skin-tight and grey. They used to be black at once point, but they have been worn through wearing them so much, down to a dull grey in most spots, though some areas of the pants retain the darkness they once had. These old jeans are also torn in several places on the shin and thigh, revealing a touch of her skin beneath. A studded belt with two rows of silver studs is always wrapped around the top of these jeans, and she wears a pair of heavy black combat boots.
Personality: Mirai is snide and sarcastic--very regularly mocking or making light of people and situations. She is a very smart woman, and she does not have time for the stupid. She creates walls around her to keep people from getting too close, as she doesn't want to build a friendship or relationship and then lose it like she lost Kimi-Chan. She loves robotics, and body modifications, and is easily excited around robotics and other machines, though she hates being cooped up for too long, needing new focus' for her attention. She is very much a tough-love kind of girl and takes pity on almost nobody. Though she was taken care of well by her family growing up, she did not turn into a dependant, spoiled child.
Bio: Mirai grew up in a very privileged home in shanghai, always having what she needed, and never wanting for anything. However, even though she was always able to get what she wanted--as she grew up, she often wished to make her own way instead of being given things. She would stubbornly refuse her parents to buy her things, and instead ask for her regular allowance until she was old enough to work. She would save her allowance money, as a child, and then purchase whatever it was she wanted with that instead of taking the easy route. Her parents were both doctors, which meant that they weren't there a lot, and she had to fend on her own--thus contributing to the desire to make her own way. Half of wanting to buy everything for herself was pure spite, not wanting them to get her things--to buy her love. She knew that they loved her, and they always would, but they were dutiful people, and they felt that in these times, if they could not fight the A.I. it was their job to help those who were hurt by them. To help the people of Earth survive to keep their species moving. Having watched what her parents had done for so long, but not finding interest in it, she knew that one day she wanted to design to weapons and gadgets that the baiters used--this was her way of showing her parents that there were more than just two ways to contribute. You didn't have to fight the enemy to help out, nor did you have to focus on those who were hurt.
From an extremely young age, Mirai would constantly take apart the electronics in her home in order to create new, interesting things. Her parents would come home from work to find their toaster and coffee maker had been taken apart and changed into a clock that made you answer riddles before it would tell you what time it was. Sometimes they would get angry with her, and tell her she should be at her studies--that she needed to make sure she didn't waste time on such trifling things, if she wanted to get into a good school and follow in their footsteps...but she just--well--didn't want to. She knew that she wanted to create and design, though, through her parents' disapproval, she slowly began to withdraw into herself and stop being as forward with showing people her designs. She knuckled down and studied hard, deciding to learn everything she could about engineering, and she buried herself in the books, spending all of her alone time in their home, devouring as much on the subject matter as she possibly could. She had no close friends, and didn't learn how to interact with people socially--afraid of rejection because of the deep-seeded worthlessness created by her parents neglect. She made her way through school and life in general without really reaching out to talk to anyone or make friends.
When she was old enough, she enrolled into a university, easily making her way into one of the top schools. When she moved away from home, her parents tried to make her stay, but she could not spend another day of her life alone in an apartment anymore. She had started to want to be around other people. However, when she entered the school, and even though she lived in residence, she just couldn't make a connection with anyone and quickly became 'that weird, quiet, geeky girl'. During the first week of class, when they were handed their first assignment, she asked if she could hand-write it to hand in. She preferred writing over typing. The teacher mentioned that it was far too dated and that such things would not be accepted. Mirai meekly nodded to the woman and looked at her shoelaces, but that's when Kimiko Ida perked up. "Kind of like that outfit, huh?" The whole class erupted into laughter, and Kimiko was sent out of the class, but she gave Mirai a wink on her way past. After the class was over, Mirai noticed the girl in the cafeteria, though she was with a man--a slightly scrawny, shaggy-haired man with peircings and a strange tattoo on his shoulder. He looked kind of...dangerous at first glance, though the man seemed like a genuine teddy bear by the way he looked at the girl who had stood up for her. He was slightly, but he had a presence about him that she couldn't describe. He just felt...strong. She walked by the table, and, holding her books in front of her chest, she bowed low, staring at the floor. "Thank you for making that exchange so much more bearable. I didn't have the guts to say anything like that, myself. Sorry for interrupting you!" And with that she tried to leave, though Akio and Kimiko stopped her, asking her to hold up, and a brief exchange of names took place. It didn't take long from then for them to ask her to eat her lunch with them when they had the time, and their classes matched up--which a couple of them did.
They were the first two people to honestly, and willingly, give her their time. They were the first people who she let get anywhere close to her and her heart. She even showed them some of her old inventions and ideas for future ones. Her detail into the design of weaponry was incredible, and her ideas really could end up in the hands of baiters one day, and that was her goal. As they continued their schooling together, they grew closer and closer, and Mirai ended up looking at them as family. She even began getting more confident with the people around them--branching out and talking to people more--getting past the idea that she was worthless--and that was why her parents had not spent the time on her growing up. However, on Akio's 23rd birthday, everything changed. She never learned what truly happened--some people say that Akio murdered his fiance. Others believed that the A.I. took her life. However, either way, while they were out for his birthday, Kimiko Ida, Mirai's best friend and only true confidant, died. Akio shortly after a stay in the hospital dropped out of his school and disappeared--handing off his inheritance to Hideki. Mirai couldn't fathom what had happened...all of a sudden her entire world fell around her. They had just recently gotten engaged--there was no way Akio would have killed her...he loved her with all of his heart. Having her whole life's support system suddenly disappear after learning for the first time to really come out of her shell, Mirai shut down. She did not leave the school, but she entered a stage of deep depression, and the many walls she had built before only came back stronger. She graduated, but she did nothing with herself. In her deep sadness, she found herself thinking more and more about Kimi, and how the woman had changed her life--made it so much better. The advice that the woman would always give her. "You should be more confident. You would look great with a risky punk style. Drop the cutesy mom look. Even if it does suit you, too." She was right.
She went to a stylist and had them cut off her long hair, turning it into a short, colored cut. She discarded her engineering clothes, and she ended up finding a rough part of the neighbourhood and getting a set of dark, punk clothing. Kimiko had been right...she looked damn good. To bury her sadness--her depression and hatred of her weak self--she created a new image--a strong image. She walked straighter, called it as it was, and wasn't afraid of facing off against anyone. She would slug a man in the eye for trying anything with her after a night at the bar, and eventually she fell into a darker crowd. She got into trafficking drugs and making little gadgets and weapons for the gang that she fell into, and she even began to smoke the s**t they were selling. Though, to be honest, she hardly called it a drug. It made her head a little light, and her stomach growl, but weed was nothing compared to the s**t some of them put in their veins. She tore down the meek defenses that she had before and she built new ones--harder and stronger than before. She hid her shy, quiet, meek self behind a wall of strength and attitude. She learned how to fight--and she learned how to survive. And eventually--after being shot three times after a drug deal went south--she realized that she was letting herself go. That she was ruining herself because of her pain. The realization hurt...a lot...but it was a wake-up she needed, and she quickly, after reaching this epiphany, did what she had to do. She tampered with the weapons that she had designed for the gang, and she sold the other gangs multiple weapons of the same kinds. They were designed to misfire, destroying the chambers of the weapons when the trigger was pulled--backfiring a tracking chip into the individuals using it and this chip immediately alerted authorities, registering as a police distress call. Needless to say, most of them were caught, and every single one of them who escaped wanted her dead.
She knew she needed to leave town--having already tried to somehow repent for what she had been doing. And so, she knew that there was only one way for her to be able to protect herself now. Who else could take a bullet and shrug it off, if not a baiter? Her parents had once told her...there were two was to help in this world. Fight the A.I., or cure those who were injured by them. Hell...maybe they were right after all.

Code Core 1

Mirai wears a set of gauntlets, and she has scanned the right hand gauntlet to be her first code core. After defeating the Uni-Blaster, the gauntlet's sleek metal finish became a rusted grey, gritty steel finish. The glowing lights have the ability to change color to the Uni-Blaster's will, and will strobe along with the music it emits from the gauntlet.
