Slievenamon sat on the edge of the warehouse, one leg swinging listlessly as the other rolled her shell flute back and fourth on her lap. She broke from her stupor to rub at her chest and let out a sigh. The influence of Chaos had lessened considerably since her meeting with the Code piece. As she was informed, in time it would've healed, and a trip to her wonder seemed to escalate the process dramatically.

However, she still suffered from erratic, sometimes violent, mood swings and felt inclined to attack those of the Negaverse on sight. The latter worried her especially; it felt hypocritical that a soul that promoted purification was also attacking the victims of Chaos.

"It's like it's pathological," the squire said, sighing. "B-but its not me. It's not the real me. It's the Chaos that remains that makes me... do this..."

Slievenamon tried to convince herself of this, but her attempt came to no avail. Her opinion on the matter was the same as the song she began to play on her shell flute; somber and full of uncertainty.

Was it not Chaos's ideals that were skewed, but hers?

It seemed as though she would have time to figure that out as she sensed a Chaos signature relatively close.

Hope this is okay!

Arsenopyrite had been looking around for another person to drain their energy. Unfortunately had had only been able to find couples and at this point he hadn't been confident enough in his skills to be able to attack and drain two victims at a time. He had only just started to go after any easy target and that was what he had been doing for a while, just having no luck with it.

He sighed to himself and hoped onto another rooftop. That had been a mistake however. He recognized the familiar signature of a squire. Great, how did he keep running into them? And considering they were more powerful than lieutenants well... they would have definitely sensed his signature.

****... this wasn't a good situation for him. He could try to run, but he doubted he could make it. He didn't see the squire yet, so they must have been a bit aways, but not as far as he thought, and the squire probably sensed him before he sensed them. He quickly summoned his weapon and readied himself for a fight.

Slievenamon felt inclined to remain seated and hope for the best. Maybe the lieutenant would take that small window of time to run off before she had a chance to instigate a battle. Unfortunately, the Chaos in her wouldn't let her pass up the opportunity.

It caused a painful palpitation in her chest, jolting her upright to her feet. Next thing the squire knew, she was walking, and then running, in the direction of the Negaverse agent. When Slievenamon came to, it was only then she realized that she had covered the lengthy distance from her seat on the warehouse's edge to the lieutenant's location in a matter of seconds.

"Y-you shouldn't be here," Slievenamon said. It didn't sound like a threat at all; more of a pleading. It make her stomach roil.

He paused as he looked at the squire who seemed to appear quickly in front of him. She could have attacked first, but it seemed as though she was hesitating, and that was confirmed with what she said next. He hesitated before he spoke to her. All of the knights and squires it seemed to confront him but then never wanting to fight. It confused him as he had been told that they were the bad guys, so they must have felt very strongly about what they were doing right? So why weren't they fighting?

"I probably shouldn't... but I need to drain someone." Something had been compelling him to do it more often and it wasn't just because of threats from his superiors. He wondered if he was somehow getting more influence by the chaos within him. He had heard it would happen, or at least that it would make him more powerful, but it also seemed to be changing how he thought too. "Well, I can leave if you want..." He probably wouldn't though, he could just imagine getting attacked from behind after letting his guard down.

"Y-you don't need to... You just need to go"—Slievenamon clutched at her chest—"now. Just go. Power down and run."

Her voice kept pushing, insisting him with urgency before the need to attack overtook her. Unfortunately, the squire still couldn't stand up to the dark push within, and found herself running again. Not away, but directly to the lieutenant. Gripping her flute between both hands, she flung it at Arsenopyrite with all of her strength; pulling back just before contact to loosen the sting of the hit.

Well this squire was quite contradictory and it took a minute to realize what was going on before he was hit by the flute she had been carrying. Unfortunately it hit him in the head so he staggered back a bit before trying to hit back. His cane wouldn't be that good of a weapon, but it was better than nothing and had some reach, so he was able to run up to her and swing the cane at her, keeping a grip on it still in case he needed it right after.

He was surprised that she seemed more willing to attack others, but she seemed to be struggling with her want to fight, and wondered what was causing it.

The clock of the cane across her temple sent Slievenamon reeling. White flashed before her eyes as a static of pain erupted from the point of contact. However, the hit also seemed to knock some sense into her, and she stopped a moment to touch a hand on her temple and pull back to see blood on fingertips.

"Ow," she muttered beneath her breath. "That helped, though."

Looking to Arsenopyrite, she managed to say more clearly, "Look, I didn't mean to just attack you outright. I wanna talk. Just talk." She gently eased her hands in front of her as if massaging the tension out of the air. "My name's Slievenamon, I'm a squire of Neptune. And you are...?"

Arseno huffed a bit, trying to catch his breath and calm himself down. He had managed to hit the squire! Really he shouldn’t have thought much of the fact but considering his last battle with a different squire… He had jumped back a bit, prepared for her to counterattack, however she didn’t seem interested, instead almost as surprised as he was at the hit.

He looked at her curiously as she seemed to calm down also after the hit. He wondered then if senshi, knights, and/or negaverse agents could be possessed. It wouldn’t surprise him, but it could be of some concern. He relaxed a bit as she introduced herself, though he was ready to either attack or flee at a moment’s notice. Who knew if she had called for help.

Her knowing his name wouldn’t hurt right? It’s not like she knew his civilian identity. “I’m Arsenopyrite Negaverse Lieutenant.” He wasn’t sure what else to say after that. Perhaps he should let her do the talking.

"Arsenopyrite." Slievenamon said his name, as if testing it, and then continued, "Arsenopyrite, hello." She shifted uncomfortably, hand to her her chest. While the Chaos within her was being a nuisance again, she hid her discomfiture with a steady bow. "It's nice to meet you."

This was the squire's first time talking civilly with a member of the Negaverse, so she was unsure how to go about, well, holding a conversation. However, this was a start at persuasion. As an advocate for good, a beginning was better than none.

"So you're a lieutenant, hm. Were you recently recruited?" she said as casually as possible. Her hand tightened around her flute, attempting to dispel thoughts to get at him with his guard calmed. She had to go at this slow, not directly as would've been her way. "Were you forced?"

He nodded his head in return to her meeting him. And once again THAT question was asked. Recently recruited and forced? He started to wonder if he wasn’t the only agent who had been forced into the negaverse. All the ones he had met so far seemed to relish in the negaverse.

He waited a bit before answering her. “Yes to both questions. Still not sure why I was recruited too.” He wouldn’t tell her that he had pretty much zero fighting ability so even that was out of the question as to why he had been recruited.

The answer made Slievenamon frown. Were the forces of the Negaverse dwindling so badly they were taking in anyone? Not that she didn't doubt Arsenopyrite's abilities, but before all of this, was he just a regular guy going about his life? Wouldn't that have been a better life to live?

"Do you regret it? Being forced?" Slievenamon said gently, taking a step closer to him. "It wasn't right, nor fair, that your consent wasn't given. Do you want to leave? There is an option, though. Have you heard of purification?"

Arseno thought about it a little. Did he regret it? He couldn’t tell as of yet. His life hadn’t changed too much, it was still mostly the same, the negaverse was mostly just a side part of it now. He still had goals he wanted to complete whether he was or wasn’t in the negaverse. And he didn’t have enough information about the other side to decide if the negaverse was the correct side for him or not. “I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I don’t even know myself what the point of all of this is. It seems pretty silly to me at this point.”

He couldn’t quite understand why the negaverse was wanting to take revenge for something that had happened a thousand years ago and only seemed to be happening now because of what the negaverse was doing. He doubted that the senshi and knights would have come if the negaverse wasn’t doing something to wake them up. He nodded his head in reply. “Well, perhaps not said in that way, but I have heard that I don’t have to be on this side.” But… what would be the point in purifying if he was just going to be in the war anyway?

Slievenamon couldn't help but share the same sentiment. "It is foolish, isn't it?" she said, giving a small, breathy laugh. "Order and Chaos have been fighting tooth and nail with each other before you and I were even thoughts. It's been the way of life since, well, probably the dawn. However, there... There are drawbacks to Chaos, you must understand that."

Slievenamon sighed and lowered her shell flute. "While I am one of the members of Order who have recognized the need for Chaos, I also understand its detriments. Under Chaos, you will lose yourself. Your ideals will skew, you won't be able to return to how you were before. Listen to me, Chaos will turn you into a murderer and worst off, you will feel it is justified. I am not sure if this speaks to you in any way, but please consider it, and purification as well if it crosses with your morals."

Oh goodness, forgive me for forgetting to reply to this. orz"

Arseno had never been able to talk this fully to a squire before and it was a bit relieving, knowing that someone had gone through some of the same stuff that he did. Though he didn’t know if she had been a lieutenant it was nice to hear that someone agreed that this fighting was ridiculous. He sighed and stood up a bit more out of an offensive position. Perhaps the squire wouldn’t wind up fighting him that much tonight and if she did well, it would be his fault for being unprepared.

“I… hadn’t heard of any of that before. They seem to barely be telling us anything as lieutenants.” He tapped the cane on his side gently, almost considering the squires words. He wasn’t anywhere close to becoming a captain. Perhaps there was still time to change. He only hoped that no one was around to hear him talking to her like this. “I’ll… think about what you said. That’s all I can say.” He wouldn’t promise her anything, especially if they had been overheard, but he would think about it.

Slievenamon gave him a small smile. "I can't force you to choose, but your consideration is enough," she said. "That's all I can ask."

Her body was completely relaxed, not at all in the mood for fighting anymore. Even the Chaos already within her wasn't giving her any trouble. Looking away from Arsensopyrite, she said, "I'd also like to apologize... for attacking you just now. It wasn't my intention to hurt you. Things have just been... muddled lately. So." She cleared her throat. "I should let you go on your way, yes? You can leave if you wish, but do keep my words in mind. And pretend we've never met, if it brings you comfort."
