Patrolling was getting more difficult. Not only was she more tired, but Eris was starting to get splitting migraines from pain in her eye. She couldn't just go to a doctor and have them look at it. It wasn't a human eye. Honestly she was starting to have regrets about the whole thing.
First instinct was to put an eye patch over it, even while powered up. It seemed to help for a day or two. It made quieted some of the anxiety that washed over her every time she looked at herself in a mirror. If she wasn't in the coffee shop where she practically lived, Eris was spending her days in bed, asleep, because being awake was difficult for her. She woke up feeling like she hadn't slept in at least a week and no amount of coffee seemed to help her.
No, the Corrupted Senshi of Discord seemed like she was sleeping her life away.
What was happening today, however, was new. She heard whisperings she thought was on the wind. It wasn't that unusual, right? Hearing whispers wasn't uncommon on the wind in this city. There were always people awake at all times of the day and they naturally talked. When it felt like being a senshi amplified her ability to hear, she heard a lot more than she wanted.
However, she powered down from patrolling tonight to escape the wind whispering and tried to dull the ache behind her eye. She moved to the back door after feeding the koi fish tonight and slipped into her house with a jingle of the keys. The house was dark and quiet and all seemed normal as she flipped on the light switch to the kitchen and moved to the fridge. Luckily before she went patrolling tonight, Rin had been in her pajamas which was basically a pair of short shorts and a crop top because it was starting to warm up way too much.
As she reached for a bottle of water, she heard some more whispering right in her ear and she let reflexes take over and the unopened bottle went flying towards the direction of the whispers. “Who's there?” She asked, voice firm and unshaken.
No one answered. She didn't sense anyone near her from any faction.
“...You're just tired, Rin,” she spoke to herself, putting a hand to her chest. The dark haired girl took a deep breath and just shook her head after a moment.
Retrieving the water bottle, Rin shut the light off and took herself to her bedroom. Though no one was in her house, and she knew that, it honestly didn't settle well with her.
The woman climbed onto her bed and buried herself in the blankets before turning on the lamp on her table and just turned her laptop back on.
“Well, no sense in getting my panties in a twist… I can probably finish this season of Gilmore Girls before I crash..”
At least that's what she thought. In reality, Rin fell asleep within the first ten minutes and Netflix kept playing, masking more whispering.
