[Backdated to shortly after By the Code]
Mimisbrunnr was in pain. There was no way around it - ever since she had agreed to take on a little bit of the Code's Chaos, she knew something was wrong with her. She was tired, sleeping more, working less, and she was so angry. She rose to challenges so viciously, with so much actual urge towards violence - it scared her, a little.
She sat on a part bench, book in her lap, bow leaned against her thigh, and stared at her feet, almost regretting coming out to patrol. She was too scared to try and engage anyone in a fight, but she also knew that her aura was a presence - not as powerful as it had been when she was a Transcendent Knight i that awful future, but still, it would draw people to her.

Fangite's fingers twitched as he wandered the route. He wasn't sure why he was even bothering to do this. Nothing good would come of it. Nothing good ever came of it. He stopped when the familiar tingle of an Order Aura pinged on the edge of his senses. His gaze drifted in the direction that it came from. It would be so easy to ignore it. To pretend it didn't exist, that it wasn't there and continue on his way as if nothing happened. So... So easy... But he knew this one. It felt familiar. He'd cross paths with this aura time and time again. With a sigh, Fangite started towards the sensation.
He paused for a second time once he was close enough to see the source. There was still time. He could still turn around and go home. Still time to ignore her. Except, now that he was close enough, Fangite could sense that something was off... Something was different. With another sigh, he trudges forwards, closer to his friend.
However, he scowls when he notices the book in her lap, and recoils as if he had been burned. "Put that damned thing away." He hissed. The Captian hated that vile book. Fangite had no interest in 'Nile'. He didn't care who he was, what he did, or what he stood for. Even if he was Nile. "I thought those things of yours were suppose to be helpful. That thing has done nothing but cause me trouble."

Mimisbrunnr winced, but she dismissed the book, letting it vanish to subspace. It wasn't doing anyone any good, anyway. She'd thought knowing who he was might help Fangite - help Nile - realize that he had a home to go to, but it hadn't worked and it hadn't helped and she....
She felt miserable about it. About everything. Like always.
"Has it really?" She asked, a little rhetorically. "Is it ever bad to know more?" She sighed. "I'm sorry. I wanted to help. I...l.guess I didn't." she pulled her bow into her lap, just to have something to fiddle with between her hands. "How have you been?"

Beneath the mask, Fangite's lip curled into a sneer. "No one bothered to name me." He hissed. "All they cared about was that I purified but that was it. Once Order got what they wanted, they couldn't even be damned to fit their newest zombie with a god damn name. I died nameless and forgotten at the hands of an officer that made my former boyfriends life miserable. Knowing that name, what it means. Why would I want to know it. I spent months trying to forget that s**t, and fight the nightmares." He snarled, throwing his hands in the air. "You show up one night and have the god damn nerve to ruin my life all over again. That book should be burned on the spot."
Just as suddenly as Fangite's rage came, it was gone. His body sagged and he collapsed on the ground where he stood. "I'm tired Mimsy." That much was evident. Despite the coverage granted to him by his uniform, Fangite looked like s**t. He was paler then usual, with dark bangs under his eyes. And that was just for starters. He wasn't sure how he functioned most days. "I don't know what to do anymore."Noir Songbird whoops my fingers slipped

Mimisbrunnr shot up, in the face of Fangite's tirade. She wasn't usually a fighter, but whatever Chaos she'd taken in had clearly made her bolder. "I wasn't trying to ruin your life!" She snapped. "I was trying to help you! You don't have to be nameless like that, but sure, remember the worst future that could have happened to either of us. I died too, Fangite. I died when I watched a Negaverse officer slaughter twenty children to punish me for being Transcended, and I had to kill him, and he was one of those children. I was dead for years before the Negaverse finally killed me. And thy did. I died in pain and scared and pretending that I had a little defiance left, but I didn't. It was all a show."
She spun away from him, not wanting to see the tired, broken-down image of her friend, wanting to be angry because at least that was feeling something.
"I'm tired to. I haven't slept since..." She swallowed. Did he know? would she be revealing too much? "I had to take in some chaos. It hurts. I hurt. I can't think. I'm angry all the time. Is...is that what being corrupted feels like?"

The Captain scowled. "After all that, I didn't want the name anyway. Do you think I would have agreed to your shenanigans if I knew what that meant for me?" He huffed.
Fangite snorted with a roll of his eyes as he flopped down onto his back. "You should have seen me. I'm not kidding when I say I was a zombie." He waved an arm listlessly. I remember Lyonesse... I kept denying who he really was. I only ever excepted it after watching him die trying to protect me. Kerberos... He had ascended. He and another corrupt basically kept me as a pet whenever I wasn't with Lyon. They were both dead. Kerberos and Lyonesse... and there was nothing I could do to save either one of them in the end."
When she mentioned sleep, Fangite laughed and scrubbed at his face. "Are you kidding me? I can't remember the last time my sleep schedule was in order... Let alone my eating habits... I'm lucky if Airi doesn't bite me ten times a day anymore." He huffed before pausing and glancing at her. "By the way, I have a literal youma living in my house like, half the time. Can you believe that. The funny part? He acts more like a house dog then a ******** creature of the Negaverse. I don't know if it's hilarious, or disappointing really."
He shot back up into a sitting position when Mimisbrunnr spilled the beans. "You did what?" He hissed, before groaning and scrubbing his face again. "No. It's not. Well, maybe for some, but that's not how it was for me. For you, it's that's you just being a literal dumbass. Why would you even do that?"

"We were all dead. The whole world was dead." Mimisbrunnr said. "I'm sorry. I should have known better than to dig all that up for you." She pushed her hood down and raked her hands through her hair, letting the messy cascade of curls loose.
"I really did want to help." She said again, like that would somehow make it better. But it wouldn't. She'd screwed up again, just like always. Just like she had killing that poor kid, just like she had taking her Oath before she was really ready, just like she always did.
"I..." Misbrunnr didn't know what to make of that. "I didn't know youma could be anything but. Um. Feral monsters." That was something of an uncomfortable revelation. She knew they used to be people, and that had broken her heart when she found out, but that thy might retain something of what they were before they were monsters....?
She felt an extra moment of guilt for every youma she had ever killed.
"I wasn't...I had to! It was poisoning the Code! The source of our power, the thing that makes us Knights!" She stomped her foot. "I wanted to help! I was helping! But it hurts so much, I want it gone, I --- I think if that's not what corruption is like it's. It's reacting badly with me not being Chaos, I don't know." She sank back into the bench and buried her hands in her face, making a quiet sobbing noise.

"I feel like I still am though... That's the difference. I know those dreams are over, but I feel like the nightmare keeps going. It hasn't stopped." He mirrored her action, pushing his own hood down and shoving his hands through his hair. "There's nothing you can do to help. My boyfriend has been trapped in crystal for god knows how long because I'm to afraid to do anything... And Kerb.." He sighed, as the sting ran through him. Both wounds were still very fresh, despite how much time had passed. "Kerb's gone. Went and purified. Now I'm here. Alone." His gaze flickered to her for a moment before drifting away.
"Some are, other's are smarter, stronger. Much more then we originally thought. Airi... Airi's like that... He was my boyfriend's at first. But when... everything happened... the bond was broken. He became mine soon after... Then he changed a bit. He started doing things that he didn't do with... with him. He stopped doing other things entirely when he bonded with me... There is still much we don't know and understand about them."
Fangite snorted quietly. "Your code is a bunch of bullshit. If it told you to kill yourself, would you?" He asked. "Hell. What if it told you to find the nearest Negaverse Agent and have yourself corrupted. Would you do it? Just to save your code?" What a stupid thought... and yet... "Of course it's going to react badly with you. It's like you said. You're a Knight. Nothing but sunshine, rainbows, and purity. Why would something dark, stormy and corrupted ever react properly with that." His fingers twitched as he mulled things over. Now or never.

"Oh, Fangite." Mimis reached over to rest a hand on his shoulder, feeling her heart break. How tired must he be? Losing everyone like that, slowly, to deeper Chaos or purification. "I'm so sorry." What else could she say? What else could she do?
The story of his youma was vaguely scientifically fascinating, but all she could focus on was how much her friend was hurting. Her curiosity about Airitech could wait. She would haveforever to learn that; for now, he clearly needed her.
She withered a little under his criticism, guiltily. "I. I think it did. Ask that of others, I mean, while it was poisoned. Not of me. It never spoke to me." Her shoulders slumped. "I wasn't important enough, I guess."
But. A promise of help. She perked up, a little. "Whatever it is, I'll try it, if it'll make all this pain stop." He was Chaos, of course he would know how to handle it. She was so stupid, she hadn't even thought of asking someone in the other side, but it seemed so obvious in hindsight. "Please."

"It's not your fault." Fangite murmured. "I should have done more... Done something. But I didn't. It's no one's fault but my own." It was true. There was no one to blame but himself. He'd been useless.
Fangite could barely resist the urge to sneer. "See? What did I tell you. It's a load of bullshit. You're all one one big suicide mission and for the sake of what? Some stupid glowing ball??" He couldn't, however, resist the urge to snort at the thought. "How noble." He mocked. "At least my leaders are on the physical plane. But ooooh no. Just because they're chaos, we're all instantly evil."
But then Fangite's attitude changed almost immediately. "You won't like it." He admitted. "It's going to hurt, regardless. I can almost promise you that. I can't do it. I don't have enough power as a Captain... I'm going to have to call someone." He stared at her, trying to ignore the now restless buzzing in his fingers and his legs. "Are you sure this is what you want?? I... I can't promise everything's gonna be smooth sailing after this." Fangite pulled out his communication crystal, fidgeting with it slightly. "I need to hear you say it Mimsy."
This was a bad idea in the making, and Fangite was watching her fall for it hook, line and sinker.

Mimisbrunnr wrung her hands together, considering. Pain for a time, but it would fix whatever was wrong with her? That sounded like a completely fair trade. It was strange that Fangite felt so apprehensive - was he worried he might get in trouble for wanting to help her?
Or he was worried that she would be unhappy with whatever it was.
She considered, and decided that whatever it was - whatever the worst possibility could be - it would be okay. It had to be.
"It's what I want. Whatever it is. Whatever will fix me." She said. She reached out to take his hand and squeeze it, briefly. "It'll be okay. I'm sure of it. I trust you."
He had her best interests at heart. Surely he did. He had to. He had no reason to lie to her, or deceive her, or anything like that.
"So do whatever you have to do."

Fangite said nothing as he waited for Mim to make up her mind, instead flopping backwards with an irritated sigh. How was she not seeing the obvious?? The Captain closed his eyes when she agreed, sealing the deal. "You're such a god damn fool..." He thought. With an aggravated noise, Fangite scrubbed at his face before sitting back up. "When this is over, I don't wanna hear s**t about how I ******** you over or anything even remotely close to that. I warned you before hand, anything from here on out is invalid. If you don't like it, you'll have to deal with it yourself. Got it?" The sooner he could get this over with and wash his hands of this, the sooner he could proceed to regretting everything. "Stay here. Do not run off." He ordered. With one last glance at the Squire, Fangite picked himself up and walked a small distance away to make the call. The Space Cauldron Pls come do the brainwashing of evil darkness thing. The call was short and brief, and when Axinite arrived he didn’t have a full understanding of what was expected of him beyond assistance with a would-be recruit. He teleported into the area and bowed his head in polite greeting. “Fangite. A pleasure.” He looked to the Squire he assumed was his target for the evening. “And a pleasure to you, as well. I am Axinite.” Her name wasn’t so important, not if she was about to lose it. She didn’t seem particularly unwilling—or, at least, she hadn’t tried to run when he teleported into the area. It didn’t seem as though she’d been physically subdued or beaten into accepting an offer to join. If she was serious about all of this, then he had only one last question for her: “Are you prepared?”

Mimisbrunnr felt a chill, because the more she listened, the more ominous Fangite's words sounded. She felt like a fool, like she was being lured into something she couldn't fully understand.
But it hurt. It hurt so much. She wanted that over, and. And somehow she...felt this was the right thing. This was her best choice. Whatever happened from here, it was all that was left.
"I promise, I won't be angry," she said. "I don't think I could be."
And then there was a crushing darkness.
A deep, powerful aura, attached to a man, and one who was clearly here on Fangite's request.
And he asked her if she was ready.
"I am," she said and she hoped that she really was - because this was as Chaos, and Chaos hurt, and she wasn't entirely sure what, exactly, was coming.

"Right. Remember you said that an hour from now." Fangite groused. The Captian tried his best to ignore the sudden and overwhelming chaos that enveloped them both with little succession. He hated this feeling.
"Mimisbrunnr, Squire of Mercury... Meet Axenite... General Sovereign. One of them anyway. He heads the Intel branch." Fangite waved a hand as he spoke, not worried about what he was saying. It wouldn't matter in a little bit. It wasn't like she was about to go running to someone and rat him out like a snitch.
The Captain couldn't stop the scowl that spread across his face as she unwillingly, but whole-heartedly accepted her new fate, his face mask being his only saving grace. "Let's get this over and done with then. She's all yours." The sooner Fangite could wash his hands of this, the better.
