 You find yourself following a soft mumble, a noise quite at odds with all the roaring and general loudness. Curious, you keeping approaching until a strange structure appears before you. It's a simple 'shack', for lack of better words, and through the cracks in the wooden planks you can see a pale stallion frantically moving about. His hooves catch on some unforeseen object sending him tumbling into an explosion of what seem to be scrolls.
"Ahhh! No! My research! All my findings!" He cries, scrambling to his hooves. There is such a look of despair on the stallions face that you can't help but make your presence known.
He regards you with scrutiny, small reading glasses falling down his nose. When you don't tease him or laugh at his scattered work, a sigh escapes and he leans against the makeshift table he was using, which happened to be a large rock. And several strange 'bones' sat in the middle.
"I've been studying these bones." He finally informs you. "Researching where they may have come from. For you see they are aged a bit and rather strange. I had just begun to make a breakthrough..." His gaze travels to the scrolls all over the ground. "But I am starting to think this is a mystery I can't comprehend!"
Suddenly his eyes light up and a look of pure hope replaces the solemn look that was there moments before. "Oh! But you look like you know your bones? Or should I say fossils! Can you identify what these are?!"

Woops! Looks like our fossil researcher has managed to scramble his papers and now he's lost track of the only leads he'd acquired for what the bones he found might be. Which is where you come in! Participants will use the image provided below to create a 'fossil' that our researcher may have been studying. Any medium that you feel most comfortable working with will be accepted. The catch? Your fossil design just might come to life! That's right. You are designing a fossil that will be the inspiration for finishing our researcher above, to be done by the amazing Ryuukishin! But that's not all. Your fossil could also spawn a semi-custom familiar created by the fantastic LOLTERNATIVE as well!R U L E S_______
For the Soq_______
Ryuukishin will be the amazing colorist working with the featured Soquili base above!
Additional edits to the featured base will be up to moderate level ONLY! No restrictions on colours or markings (the above colours are display purposes only!)
For the Familiar____
LOLTERNATIVE will be the awesome colorist creating these!
There will be one Custom winner and a few Semi-Custom winners.
CUSTOM winner will be able to choose what type of familiar they want - the rest will be up to the colourist.
SEMI-CUSTOM winners will choose from the provided bases.
Custom AND Semi-custom familiars will be up to moderate edits ONLY! No restrictions on colours or markings (the above colours are display purposes only!)
General Rules_____
Participants will design a fossil to be used as inspiration for the Soquili featured above and/or a familiar.
Designs must be your OWN work.
Entries will be judged and winners chosen by what designs inspire our generous colorists the most.
No proxies, sorry!
Please remember that you may win only ONE Soquili and ONE familiar from this event.
You may use whatever media you wish, but please stick to the provided image!
No Mules (1000 or less posts). If you happen to be a legitimate newbie that falls under this, you may still participate. However we will be checking this closely.
In order for your form to be counted, you must complete the entire form!
This is not a contest for the best artist. It is meant for you to have fun and show us your creative side!
You may edit your post up until the closing time, but be sure to make a note in red letting us know what you edited.
