WELCOME TO ROUND FOUR!

Aurostibite and Xenotime have congratulated you upon making it to round four of the tournament! The rules this round are the same as the last! This is the second to last round!

OOC RULES:

- You have 72 hours to complete the battle! If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.

- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.

- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.

- If you have any questions, please contact either Beejoux or kuropeco privately through AIM or PM!

THE MECHANICS

Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!

Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)

( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )

Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!

The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

While incredibly pleased with herself, the dainty dance was a touch surprised to find herself having advanced this far in the tournament. It wasn't that she lacked skills, her geberal had made certain Ceraskia was trained up, but she knew she lacked an over physical edge. Not just as a send hi going up against an agent, but as very petite girl that was not overly strong to begin with.

Regardless though, she had come a very long way, and she knew her mistress had to be pleased with her pteformance.

Again she was at the edge of the ring, awaiting the start of the next round. Cool eyes resting curiously of the lieutenant that waited across from her.

Annabergite had somehow, miraculously, stupidly, made it to the second to last round of the tournament. How exactly this had happened, he wasn't sure, but now that he had gotten this far, he was determined to make the most of it.

Maybe if he won, he could convince Obsidian to give him a treat.

His opponent this time was a delicate looking ballerina, and Annabergite gave her an imperious look, his hands on his hips as he pointed a dramatic finger at her.

"Are you ready to get beaten?"

Oh my, he certainly seemed a bit full of himself. Did he not know better than to be so over confident? Ceraskia was delicate looking, yes, but she'd made it this far. There had to be more to her than feathers and toe shoes.

Lips twitching in a very small smile, the senshi dipped her head in what was more or less a mockery of a bow. "By all means, if you think you can manage it." She wasn't convinced.

The smile broadened a touch, and then she was moving in a quick sprint towards him. A feint, small hand coming around as if she intended to throw a punch at him, but it didn't hit. Instead she twisted at the waist, bringing her left knee up to aim a swift blow at his right hip.

If he could manage it.

Annabergite gave an affronted squawk of protest, looking downright outraged at the insinuation that he might not manage it. Huffing a little, he tromped forward, his hands on his hips, and leaned over the girl, eyes narrowed in suspicion.

"I'll have you know that I - ow - "

Her knee had smacked into his side, and Annabergite staggered, squeaking in pain. His booted feet skidded, and quickly he stumbled back, gasping in protest.

"That was just rude."

"I beg to differ." Ceraskia was a good number of things, but rude was not often one of them. She was a very polite girl, very well spoken and cultured. She had manners, and she knew how to use them. That he considered anything she had done since meeting across from him in the ring rude was amusingly baffling.

His indignation at the knee to his hip let him open for a a rather serious upper cut to the solar plexus. After which she would draw back a step, placing a little space between them so she could watch him and try to gauge his movements.

So far there hadn't been much to gauge.

"This is a tournament, I'm not sure what sort of experience you were expecting this far into it."

"Differ all you like," sniffed Annabergite. "But assuming you know better than I do and that I don't know what I'm doing is just plain rude, okay, I'll have you know - "

What exactly he'd have Ceraskia know never really came out, because the senshi's fist drove into his chest and Anna spent the next few seconds wheezing and gasping out something that had to do with my beautiful skin how dare you -

When he straightened, he was looking Highly Offended.

"I made it this far, didn't I?" said Anna in a wounded voice, aiming a kick at the girl's leg.

She had to fight a sudden desire to roll her eyes. That would have been rude.

He kicked at her, boot colliding painfully with her shin, and it had her sucking in a sharp breath through her teeth, one she held for a second before releasing. "I'm sure you're not without your skills, but I believe it was you, sir, that made the original assumption of superiority." She clicked her tongue, huffing softly. "What was it you had said? Prepare to be beaten, if I'm not mistaken?"

She was certainly not going to make it easy for him, that was for sure. Turnin sharply in place, the petite dance brought her right leg up, aiming a kick for shoulder height or higher or the mouthy lieutenant.

He let out a sound of victory that was short lived. Ceraskia was stronger than her appearance alluded to, and her leg smacked into his shoulder, sending Annabergite staggering to the side. Gasping in outrage, he straightened again, all but glowering at her now.

"That's because I am better than you," he said indignantly, and grabbed at her leg, trying to push her back. "I'm in the Negaverse and you're not."

His hand caught her ankle, shoving hard, and the ballerina went down, smacking hip, hand and elbow against the hard ground. It hurt, radiating out in an ach that promised bruises later, but she wasn't about to let it keep her down.

Pushing back up, she swiped silver hair back over her shoulder and sank back in a ready stance. "We shall see."

Whether because she'd taken his curtly offered advice or not, Ceraskia had been advancing well through the tournament. He kept his eye on her no less critically -- and perhaps moreso -- than any of the other competitors, and took notes . . . but it would stand her in good stead with their General that she'd put in a good performance so far, even if Quartz himself hadn't put effort into advancing, and had been eliminated in the first round. He pulled away from his place standing among the observers against the wall.

There were seats still open, and he took one -- turning another sideways so he could kick his gold-booted feet up onto the chair and take notes from a more ringside vantage. Ceraskia was still more than holding her own -- unsurprising from someone who received their training from their flawless General -- but Quartz wondered what lessons she might take away from a battle against the same clown who'd lucked and boasted his way through the previous rounds and couldn't keep his head in the game.

Ceraskia knew to take herself seriously. Did she know how to deal with an opponent who didn't?

That was something the fight would bear out -- but Ceraskia's fights so far had borne out something else different, something else that was bound to bite her in the a** at some point.

She was fighting far too physically. She was letting herself take too many hits, using her own body to deal out too many more.

The strategies Quartz knew he could employ to some effect in combat -- the ability to stand up to a certain amount of punishment in the name of delivering a heavier blow, the advantages of size and weight and muscle over an opponent, a modicum of practice at basic pugilism -- were not remotely strategies best suited to someone who was as dainty as Ceraskia was. Moreover, they were certainly not strategies that were any good for someone who hoped to have a long career in ballet.

She'd wind up with a career-ending injury sooner or later, at this rate. Being a dancer gave her a tremendous amount of muscle for her size, which was useful -- but Ceraskia needed to work on evasion instead of endurance, on using objects around her as weapons instead of a skeleton full of her own breakable bones.

Notes for later.

He smirked at her, pleased that he had managed to get her away from him and that she had had to recover. Annabergite swept his hair dramatically back away from his forehead and said airily, "We'll see what, exactly? You can't join the Negaverse, the senshi are just imposters."

He leapt towards her, aiming a fist at her side.

"Immmmppoooosttterrrr pretenderrrrrrr~ "

It wan't the taunting that was now giving Ceraskia difficulties, it was his eradic and unpredictable technique(if one could even call it that). The lieutenant's movements didn't make sense, not her trained eyes, and it left her jerking one way, when she should have been dodging the other way.

A fist connected with her side, had her sucking a breath in through her teeth as he agitated already deep bruises, and her retaliatory swing never connected.

This is not acceptable. Not against him.

She needed to do better.

There was, sadly, no rhyme or reason to Annabergite's movements, which meant that unfortunately for Ceraskia, he was unpredictable - and unfortunately for Annabergite himself, he had little idea of what he was actually doing other than flailing around.

He lunged, shifting and aimed to knee her in the stomach.

If she watched for movement alone, rather than for the barest signs of a predictable attack, perhaps she'd have slightly better luck against him. It was worth considering, attempting, but it only seemed marginally more successful.

His knee cam up at her stomach, and the senshi let herself move automatically, small hands snapping forward to block the blow before it could connect, and roughly shove him away from her.
