"You shouldn't be working!" Louisa whined and stomped her feet, her hands balled into angry fists at her side. It would be endearing, if it hadn't been going on all day. Rosie sighed and wiped her forehead with a cloth that hung around her shoulders. One arm was wrapped up in a sling, which made everything a lot more difficult.

"Louisa if I don't work, we don't get money. We don't get money, we don't pay the bills." Oof, that was much too sharp. Sighing, she tried again with a softer tone, "I have to work, bebe, or we can't eat."

"But..." Louisa groused, her cheeks puffed large as she scuffed her shoe on the ground, "But the doctor said to take it easy."

"I am. Only some bread and donuts and bagels. Trust me, mija, it's fine." Pulling out the mija was a d**k move, they both knew it, but it was also an argument ender. Louisa stomped off to sit at on the tables and leave Rosie to work.

Bread made you fat. It wasn't just an internet joke, it was a rule of life. But Autumn had been through some s**t and then some, and so help her, she was going to get some delicious ******** pastries to account for everything she'd been through. And possibly bring some (slash throw them at) the leading men in her life. Word on the street had guided her to this quaint little bakery, and dressed to the nines, Autumn had quietly stepped inside.

...Only to have a couple of realizations hit her. One, she'd come at a bad time. This little girl was not happy, something doctor-related, and man oh man that was not a good argument to jump in on. Number two, Autumn had definitely seen this lady in Blackfriars. And she'd definitely taken a beating from the weres. Hedging a smile, Autumn stepped further into the shop, and offered a tentative wave to the baker.

"Hey there, um. Rosie was it? You mind if I give you a hand with that?" She asked, gesturing to the trays. Autumn had the added benefit of being able to heal herself with a good crash-week, but everyone else... not so much.

Not that everyone else had deer antlers and flowers. But, you know. That was neither here nor there.

Rosie had been focused on grabbing a tray of goodies that the front door bells didn't even register. Surprised, she whipped her head in Autumn's direction and stared wide eyed. "O-oh! ... A-autumn?" Names, unbidden, came to mind: Wolf, Bunny, Fisher, Autumn, Lucas.... There were others. Something with a P. Phil? Oh it didn't matter now.

"A-ah well..." Having someone who was also recently injured help seemed like bad fo---

"She'd love help!" Louisa was there, smiling toothily at Autumn. Rosie went stiffened, glaring at her sister for a blink before relaxing into submission.

"Yes..." She sighed and smiled at Autumn, "If you don't mind. How are you, Autumn? I... Haven't seen anyone from that crazy time."

"Your flowers are pretty." Louisa piped up, staring up at Autumn with wide, admiring eyes.

Autumn smiled brightly at Louisa, the slightest flush to her cheeks in a mix of relief and embarrassment. The horns and the flowers were... new, to say the least. It was the first physical change related to Other Ashdown that she'd heard of- and of course, she was the one to experience it. ******** typical.

"I'm good! Now that I'm all healed up, and things are calming down, things are... starting to vaguely resemble normal? Not that they're ever normal in this town." She laughed, walking to the counter and stepping behind it to try and help with the trays. She wasn't a soldier or anything, but she kick-boxed. She had some ******** sweet guns, thanks.

"Aw, thank you baby!" Autumn called back to Louisa at the compliment, trying to juggle her attention between... mother and daughter? Wasn't really her place to ask. Besides, that was a hella cute kid, whatever their relationship.

"How have you been? Since Blackfriars?" It was asked earnestly as Autumn took the tray, looking to Rosie to take the lead.

"I think I promised you a talk, and hell. This is as good a time as any, huh?"

"Thank you." Rosie sighed in relief and rolled her shoulder. Beside the register counter there was a large display case with a rounded front. She opened the back and motioned for Autumn to slide the tray of goodies in there, "Since that craziness? Healing and surviving."

A talk, huh? Well, there were a lot of questions in Rosie's mind, and had been since the incident. It was difficult to go even to the store without peering a little too closely at others, looking for signs that they were different.

"I would love that. Do you like tea of coffee? Let's have a cup and a sweet while we chat." Rosie caught the curious expression her sister was casting the two and hesitated. Right, Louisa was still in the dark about, well, everything. It was better that way.

"Wheeza, you have homework, right? Take a bagel and get started."

"Can I stay down here?"

Well, at least she asked, "Not right now. 'Sides, you wouldn't pay attention to your work. You'd be too busy eavesdropping and trying to ask Autumn questions." Louisa shot their visitor a shy smile before grabbing a bagel and heading behind the counter and into the kitchen. There was a flight of stairs there that led to the second story.

Rosie sighed and shook her head, stepping into the kitchen to grab a kettle, "My little sister." She explained as she turned on the faucet to fill it up, "School's about to let out. She's going to be a fifth grader. Thinks she's a big girl now and can boss me around." Rosie snorted and rolled her eyes. Turning off the faucet, she plunked the full kettle onto the stove and turned it to 'High'.

"I'm a tea girl myself. Coffee is satan," Autumn replied easily, turning to hoist the large tray into the display case. Despite the seemingly serious tone, there was a smile on her lips and a twinkle in her eye. "I'd say no offense, but I mean it. Everyone should convert to the magic of tea."

Autumn watched the exchange between the sisters with delight, the corners of her eyes crinkling upwards with mirth. She didn't have any sisters, but this... felt like the way it was supposed to be. Maybe not so mom-in-charge, but getting along. Respecting each other. Valuing the fact that they had blood between them.

When Louisa departed, Autumn offered her a wave, then turned to listen to Rosie's explanation.

"She's cute. You're a good sister," she laughed breathily, standing more upright from the display case. Her eyes flicked over Rosie, and her smile dropped a hint.

"So. You're still recovering, you said? Would you be willing to let me take care of that?"

"Tea is Satan?" Rosie asked incredulously, a laugh tinting the end of her sentence. Autumn was an interesting woman, filled with kindness and charisma. Rosie felt comfortable around her. When the kettle started to whistle, she turned off the heat and grabbed two large mugs. The hot water and transferred into a smaller teapot, and then that and the mugs made their way onto a tray. "Would you mind carrying this out for me?"

The compliment made her laugh, "I try... It's not easy, but it is rewarding." Autumn's next request was... Surprising to say the least.

"Take care of that.." Oh, right. Autumn could heal, right? Nibbling her lower lip, Rosie cast a worried glance at the shorter woman, "Are you okay with that, chica? I don't know how those uhm, powers? Powers work. Does it hurt you?"

It didn't take telling her twice, and Autumn gladly grabbed the tray to carry into the other room. She nodded and listened as Rosie talked about raising her sister, and carefully set the tray upon the table. Considering the beating Rosie had taken, it was honestly the least Autumn could do. Glancing to the older woman, she nodded.

"Uh. I'm gonna try to hit those in order. Yeah, I'm okay with it. Wouldn't have offered if I wasn't. I guess they're powers?" An indifferent shrug. "It's not quite like magic on the other side, this is like. Convenience stuff here versus will stuff there."

At the question of it hurting, Autumn shook her head.

"I very, very temporarily feel your pain. It doesn't actually HURT me so much as I get the memory of what it was like. So, mental mumbo jumbo s**t. If that makes you feel any better."

From the glass case Rosie took out two Concha, a pink and a soft brown. She set them on the tray and sat down at the table, considering what Autumn had offered.

"Mental mumbo jumbo or not, it still sounds unpleasant." Rosie couldn't deny how helpful it would be, for everyone. Jo was a saint, picking up extra hours, but Rosie wasn't comfortable making the woman work so hard if there was a readily available option for healing. Autumn made a good point too - If she didn't want to, then she wouldn't have offered.

"All right, Autumn. I appreciate it, truly. It's a minor fracture, but it's a major pain in the a**." She carefully took the sling off, the sting of the bone hitting her immediately, "I owe you for this."

"You don't owe me anything. I'm happy to help." Reaching into her purse, Autumn pulled a set of bandages out, and wrapped them around the fracture. When the bandages were tight, Autumn laid her hand atop the other woman's arm, and closed her eyes.

It was sort of becoming a familiar sensation. This one wasn't nearly as bad as Zac, who'd nearly been torn in two. It still hurt, but it didn't feel like she was being ripped apart. Autumn grit her teeth, and focused. Willed the pain out of the arm and away from the injury, out into the world. Like it had never happened at all.

Moments later, just a bit shaky and breathless, Autumn undid the bandaging around Rosie's arm. It wasn't... quite as visible as some of the other injuries she'd dealt with. Autumn glanced up to Rosie.

"Well? Give it a shot. Lemme know how it feels."

Rosie waited patiently as Autumn wrapped her arm up. It was... tight. Stinging. Still, the baker didn't flinch and allowed her acquaintance to work unhindered. Then the magic part of it started. There was no telling when it would start or -- Oh. Rosie blinked in surprise, staring at her arm in disbelief as the underlying ache and pain of the fracture slowly began to... Not numb. Numb still left the tense sensation in her muscles. No. This was like healing accelerated. As if someone had slapped the fast forward button on the single frame of time that encapsulated her arm and now...

It was finished. "Oh my god." Sure, she had seen it done to the poor child in the bathroom stall during Black Friars, but experiencing it first hand was something totally different. Something so wild she was unsure if she could ever explain it to another person. Nodding, she hesitantly flexed her arm.

No pain. Slowly, Rosie rolled her shoulder, moved her arm and pumped her fist. She twisted it around, each way, testing the muscles and tendons and bone... Yeah. It was completely healed, "It's healed." Stupefied, she stared at her arm.

"I... That's amazing, Autumn."

"It's a gift I've been given, and I figure, best I can do with it is to help where I can." She shrugged, just the slightest flush taking her cheeks. So far, it'd been met with disdain from her friends. Overt amounts of concern that she was hurting herself, asking for something worse to happen. But Rosie saw it as a gift, too. It was fantastic. Autumn offered the other woman a smile, and sat back in her chair.

"So. You said you had questions?" She picked up the pastry, and took a bite, chewing it contentedly. It was... good. Really, really good. Holy s**t.

"I'm here for your Yar A Wizard Harry talk."

Having two arms, and so abruptly, was such a weird problem to have. Rosie naturally bent her arm to her chest as if it were still in the sling, only to stop and correct herself with a frustrated frown. This would take some mental adjustments... And was probably pretty funny to watch. Chuckling to herself, she tore a part of the concha in half and dipped it into the tea before snacking on it happily.

"Mmm.... I'm guessing this magic and werewolf and... Moonwalker? That's what it was called, right?" She remembered someone giving her an earful of how it wasn't something but something. Oh, wait... It wasn't werewolf, it was moonwalker? Well it was confusing right now, so she decided to ignore it, "All of that stuff is pretty common, no?

"What do... How..." Rosie frowned, unsure of how to phrase her question, "Is ashdown... safe? Like, do I need to keep an eye on my back at all times?"

"Werewolves? s**t no, that's a new thing," Autumn laughed, shaking her head. She'd handled the demon deer and magic alright, but werewolves were a new line for her. Were-whatevers. There were apparently not just wolves. Considering her mom was a fox, anyway... "But yeah. Moonwalkers. According to Lucas, they're like. Guardians or some s**t."

As to the safety of Ashdown?

"...I can't say that it's safe. I've been kidnapped," Autumn shrugged, her smile fading. "Friends of mine have been hurt. You've been hurt. There's good things, but there's pain. I'd keep your eyes open, but... don't drive yourself crazy. You know?"

"Guardians." That was an interesting role. What were they guarding? She supposed only asking a were... er... moon walker would give her the answer. Autumn's answer wasn't reassuring, but it was honest, and Rosie was okay with that. Not that knowing the world was as dangerous as the nightmares she had been having but okay with being told her vague paranoia was founded.

"I see... Thank you. I guess I need to take some self-defense classes. Know anything of the sort?" She remembered her tea and took another sip, happy to have a conversation and her arm back in working order.
