Hobbies:

Zumba - After giving lecture after lecture of how important it is to get up on your feet and stay fit, Ann finally decided to take her own advice and work on moving around more. Sure, as a nurse she was on her feet all the time, but having since retired to teaching nursing instead of actually performing, she finds herself sitting more often than not. So to get up and moving, She enrolled herself in a Zumba class. Needless to say, she was in love and can't help but move to that beat when she hears it! So far, a good number of her friends have been made at her weekly Zumba classes.

Gossiping - Oh BOY does Ann have a nose for gossip. She's the nosiest among the nosy of neighbors and loves to share stories about what's going on in her apartment building. She knows about Sheryl's affair in apartment 3B and about the dog that Daniel keeps hidden in his bedroom on the 8th floor. She loves to get together with the other gossipers at local cafes and breakfasts shops and get all the juice bits from around town.

Cooking - If Ann had not become a nurse, she would have tried to be a chef. Ever since she was young girl Ann had a obsession with food and the love that could be conveyed with it! Her easy bake oven was worked to the bone and now her stove tops and counters are just the same! Even if her kids hardly find time to hang about, she still finds the time to experiment and give them something tasty for lunch. Lately, she's been cooking meals for some of the other residents who live in her apartment building, especially since her shared meals and lunches often leads to a gossip session.

Virtues:

Generous -- Ann has always believed that if you have something to share, you SHOULD. You never know who has it worse than you and even if they are a snotty little a*****e, they should STILL be given the same bit of understanding and effort as anyone else. That's what she teaches her Nursing students, and that's what she lives by.

Brave -- Mama Rhodes is fearless when it comes to her kids, and to anyone else she decides is under her care. She's ready and willing to put herself in danger, or to speak up in uncomfortable circumstances in order to get the best outcome for those around her. Consequences? Naw, that's something to think about later!

Curious -- Even at this age, Ann is easily fascinated at everything. She wants to learn more about the world around her, to see all the changes in technology and experience them for herself. That iPad right there? Give it to her and she'll figure it out right away from playing with it. And her curiosity leads her to learning more about people around her as well. With enough prying, she can help another out every now and then.

Flaws:

Nosy -- Ann has a big problem with butting into people's business. She'll learn something about you, then try to take it upon herself to fix an issue, like a broken marriage or a stolen item. She's definitely gotten herself into trouble on more than one occasion by not minding her own business. Ann's lost friend after friend in being just 'too nosy' and untrustworthy, in their opinion.

Assertive -- It's always and forever be "Mama Rhodes way or the highway." She refuses to take criticism for her decisions, and demands that her children and her husband see that her courses of actions are right. Once she decides something, it takes forever to get her to change her mind. From insisting that her child deserved a better grade than what they got, to forcing her ideas about how raising children should be (whether or not it is the right approach), she refuses to acknowledge that maybe sometimes she's not entirely right.

Short-tempered -- Just like her son, Ann has a very short fuse when it comes to most things. Even just the tiniest bit of snarkiness will result in a tongue lashing that one one ever forget. Due to the problem of going from peaceful and loving to a straight up angry harpy, some of the people she knows avoid her if possible. No one wants to hear this mom scream.
