Pearl still wasn't fond of Earth.
There was absolutely nothing for her there on the planet. She had zero interest in the flora or fauna, the overload of colors were enough to throw her hands up in frustration at the sight of it, and it really only served one purpose to Homeworld. Yet, Pearl found herself traversing its environments with amiable frequency whenever one of Blue Diamond's ship landed.
One of her first unfortunate opportunities was when she was accidentally pulled along and abandoned by an exploration team for the forests. While she did have the honor of meeting and assistance of a lone exploratory gem known as Angel Aura Quartz, their short time together still hadn't changed her opinion of the planet. Yet, she was unusually drawn to it, and found herself lying to her mistress a myriad of times just to explore.
She had returned to a set of hills that offered a disgustingly colorful view of the forest, river, and temple in the distance when she climbed to their crests. Settling down on one, she stared out with a glare at the expanse before her, and then glanced down at the verdant green of the grass.
Her lips thinned dramatically as she said, "How ugly."
Inwardly sighing because her powers did not let her change the hue of the grass itself, the gem gathered armfuls of stones around the hill, littered them where she sat, and then pressed hands to them to change them a lovely shade of navy. This pleased her for a fraction of a second, until she took in the sight of blades of grass poking up in between her ring.
"Ugly, ugly..." she muttered, getting up to fetch more, and eventually smother the hill in a sea of blue rocks.

The first chance she got, Bixbite was outside to explore. She loved helping the other gems, but she was intensely curious about what lay outside the Kindergarten. She had to admit to being a little disappointed that there wasn't more shades of pink. Not that the greens and blues weren't pretty, but she favored pinks for obvious reasons. She kept eyeing the hills, wondering how much fun it would be to roll down the side of them. With a child like grin, she ran up the side of the next hill with the intention of rolling down on her side at speed. Except there was already someone there. She skidded to a halt at the top of the hill, but overbalanced. "Whoa!!" she cried out as she tumbled head over heels down the hill until she was stopped by a pile of strangely blue rocks. "Ow. Oh, hey, that's a pretty color," she said, tipping her head back to look at them while she was upside down. She spotted a Pearl coming back with more rocks and grinned again. "Hey!" she called a greeting before twisting into an upright sitting position, legs crossed. "Do rocks come in this color?" she wondered out loud, picking up one of the blue rocks. Unoderi it's great 8'D Sorry it took me so long >w<

"Ugly, ugly..."
Pearl was grumbling her entire way with an armful of rocks in tow. In fact, she was so deep in the throes of her frustrations that when Bixbite asked her that question, it went unanswered for a lengthy moment. Then the Pearl jolted to a stop in her tracks, dropping a few rocks from the pile in her hands.
"I— Wha— When did you get there?" Pearl asked, her eyebrows furrowing. "Wait, the rocks?" She glanced down to the ones she held. "They don't. I've been changing their color myself. See?"
Pearl picked up an egg-shaped rock from the pile and held it out to the pink gem between forefinger and thumb. Suddenly, the grey of the rock seeped away into a rich navy blue.
"This planet's materials are such a drab color, I'm just making them prettier," Pearl said, striding over to the ring she had made and fixing rock into place. "This planet could use such an overhaul, color-wise" She sighed. "What about you? Why are you here? Oh, and I'm a Pearl, if it wasn't evident. A member of my matriarch, Blue Diamond's, court."

Bixbite was not in the least perturbed by the length of silence after her question. She just looked up at the other gem with curious eyes wide. When she was met with a question instead of an answer at first, she grinned. "Just a minute ago. I tripped down the hill. It was kinda fun," she said with a giggle, nodding at the next question the Pearl posed. When she changed the rock's coloring from a dull gray to the prettier blue, Bixbite couldn't help but stare. "Hey, that's cool!" She watched Pearl go about fixing the rocks where she wanted them, fascinated by her ability to change the color of things. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Bixbite, from the Kindergarten. I was just out exploring today. Hadn't gotten much chance yet to do so."

"Fun, huh?" Pearl said, eyebrows furrowing in concern. "Do be careful, if you crack your gem or shatter yourself, we may not have a way to repair you. It'd be an absolute horror to lose a gem, especially on this planet of all places." She gave a small shudder.
Her expression changed to that of a smile when Bixbite complimented her abilities. "Thank you," she said. "It's a pleasure, Bixbite. What's your ability, if I may ask? If you've discovered it yet, I mean."

Bixbite's eyes widened a little; clearly she had not thought about cracking or shattering her gem when she decided to roll down the hill. "Oops?" she said with a sheepish grin. "I'll be more careful in the future!" she promised, saluting. The shudder Pearl gave made the pink gem's head tilt to one side. "Do you not like it here?" she wondered. The other gem had said she thought the planet's colors were unpretty, and had been doing her part to change the rocks to be a nicer color. But the rest of it could be pretty, right? Bixbite thought it was pretty, anyway. When asked about her ability, she laughed. "Aw, it's nothing as cool as yours," she said. "I can bring other gems' moods up, or help them sort through something emotional. Sometimes I can soothe anger, too."
